we describes a method for realizing the color conversion from the tristimulus (X, Y, Z) values to the print ink signals (C, M, Y) by using neural networks. The realized nonlinear color conversion system consists of two hidden layers those have seventeen nodes. We determined the C, M, Y values of the input control signals to compensate the printer nonlinearity of real systems. Experimental results showed that the described method is useful and valid to realized the nonlinear color conversion.

With increased use of halftone dot overprints for offset color printing, it is important to study the density and ink trap of the overprints. In this research the equation to predict the density and the method to evaluate ideally the fractional ink trap are preposed. And also the halftone dot overprinting experiments of Magenta over Cyan or Cyan over Magenta under wet-on-wet or wet-on-dry overprinting using 2-color offset press show the above proposals are reasonable, and show the effect of overprinting sequence on the density and ink trap.

The practical lith developer is a hydroquinone solution of moderate alkalinity and low free-sulfite ion concentration with potassium bromide as the restraining agent. In the study on composition of ilth developer to promote high sensitivity, high contrast and long term preservation or use, a new composition of lith developer, namely PK lith developer, was developed and of was found that PK lith developer was superior to the lith developer which was commercially available in terms of contrast, speed and preservation. This paper also describes studies on the addition of hdydrazine to PK lith developer, which have led to further improvements in the system.

Contributions by Tsai Lun, the paper inventor, are as follows; 1. As most of the materials, which were used, were the waste articles, the cost was cheap and the large quantity could be produced at a time. 2. It was much more convenient to use or carry them beyond comparison with the existing materials. 3. He established how to manufacture the paper if which the materials is vegetable fiber and invented a successive paper making. 4. He extended the kinds of paper manufacturing materials by instructing the worker about how to make the bark paper from the paper mulberry fiber, namely, he tried to realized the technological renovation to connect the past and the future. 5. As a result of his efforts, he greatly contributed to the social development as the supply of books and knowledge was smoothly active, and the paper is the best and ultimate one as the writing material.

Ink trap is one of the important factors to determine the color in multi-color overprints. This study was carried out for the purpose for analyzing the relationships between ink traps and color differences in two-color solid overprints. The specimens were printed under four different conditions that the overprinting ink sequence of M(Magenta) or C(Cyan) and the overprinting method of W(Wet-on-Wet) or D(Wet-on-Dry) were changed altermately, that is M+C-W or C+M-W and M+C-D or C+M-D.

The characteristics of printing inks are affected, to a greater or lesser extent, by the size and distribution of the pigment particles in the dispersion. Color strength, transparency and gloss increase with a decrease in particle size of pigments and with an increase in surface area of pigments. On the contrary, opacity and lightfastness tend to increases with an increase in particle size of pigments and with a decrease in surface are and particle size if pigments on the physical properties of printing ink which made up vehicles for sheet fed and organic pigment Lake Red C(C.I Pigment Red 53:1) that different surface area and particle size.

In general, printing inks are mainly composed of pigments and vehicles. Its characteristics are affected, to a greater or lesser extent, by the size and distribution of the pigment particles in the dispersion. Color strength, transparency and gloss generally increases with an decrease in particle size of pigments. On the contrary, opacity, lightfastness tend to increases with an increase in particle size of pigments In this work, we have investigated an effect of surface area of pigments on the physical properties of printing of printing ink which made up vehicles for sheet fed and organic pigment Lake Red C(C.I.Pigment Red 53:1) that different surface area and particle size. It was found that gloss, tack and yield value increases with an increase in surface are of pigments, but grindness is reduced.

In this paper, we describe the Color Correction and Preferred Skin Color Reproduction in a ink-jet color printer. The fundamental color correction that converts RGB densities into GMY densities has been ordinarily used. This method can reduce the hue error, but color difference between the preferred skin colors and hardcopy skin colors are large. We have been able to reduce color differences between original skin color and hardcopy skin color by transforming hardcopy skin colors` coordinates into Preferred Skin Colors` coordinates. Experimental results show that the described method is useful and valid for the skin color reproduction in a digital color printer.
