This study was to analyze physical condition on the dormitory high school in Jeonju City, and find out users' satisfaction on that. This was going to contribute to the directions of it's physical environmental improvement. This was performed by a questionnaire survey method. Data were collected from 200 students, who had been dwelling 4 high school dormitories in Jeonju City. Through analyzing those data about library, diningroom, laundry room, break room, computer room, restroom, shower room, hall·lounge, and snack bar in a dormitory, the results are as follows. First, students thought some physical conditions to be inconvenient in an distracted study atmosphere and hard furniture of library, a bad location of diningroom, a short laundry machine, lack of tables in a break room, a short performance and supply computer, a small space and short toilet in restroom, and a short of hall·lounge and snack bar. Second, the students' satisfaction of common public areas in dormitory was 3.39 score. Students were concerned with library and restroom·shower room through analyzing satisfied and unsatisfied areas. Third, they needed to improve heating, cooling, and noise in common areas of dormitory, and needed to support a breakroom and snack bar. Conclusively, library, restroom·shower room, break room, and snack bar were important common areas, and indoor environmental elements - heating, cooling and noise- were important in high school dormitory.

The object of this study is to investigate the satisfaction level of group homes for the elderly living alone in rural areas. Sixty-four elderly people, living alone, were selected from ten regions operated by the Gimje city council in Jeonlabuk-do, and then a survey was conducted during January 17 to 26 in 2011. The results of the investigation are as follows: first, roughly 90.6 percent of the participants responded that they were satisfied with cohabitation. Second, average point of satisfaction was going to bed together, which is 4.39, also each unit in all the ten regions was recorded above 4.00. Third, the satisfaction of eating together averaged highly at 4.37. Fourth, 95 percent of them were satisfied with the conditions of the residential space. Fifth, the satisfaction with the amenities, such as electricity, phone, heating and sanitation, averaged 96.9 and 98.4 percent each, which was rated highest. Through analytical research, elderly people who live in 'group homes' are satisfied with their lives. It is thought that this 'group home' can play the role of an alternative family better than existing 'senior citizen centers' and 'welfare centers for the elderly'. The study means that 'group homes' in rural areas could be established successfully.

Campus facilities were recently remodeled to provide the substantial learning rights of handicapped students in many campus to embody the dignity and value as man. So this study aims to identify the exterior connection facilities for handicapped students of S and D campuses. The summaries of this research are as follows. ·Installations of even crossing area(1.5mx1.5m) per 50m and even rest area(1.5mx1.5m) per 30m in walking or access ramp. ·Improving in accordance with exterior connection facility repairing master plan in S campus. ·Bringing down an angle degrees of the inclined walking or access ramp in D campus. ·Installation of exterior braille guide sign for blind students. All handicapped students must be guaranteed the same learning rights as normal men to remove obstacles as the upper mentioned imperfections in using exterior campus facilities.

This study compares and analyzes the supporting system used in Korea and Japan to facilitate the development of maeul-mandeulgi supporting systems. And the results of comparison and analysis are as follows: First, it needs to establish the separate legal system in the city planning system and to enact the local more local autonomous ordinances to complementarily connect with the administrative system. Second, an exclusive department should be organized under direct control of the local government head. Third, the maeul-mandeulgi support center should hire the full-time employees including the experts and civil officials who are not relevant with administrative works, and the local administrative organization should lead the operation of this center while strengthening the functionality of the center to be suitable with the local situations. Fourth, it is necessary to diversify the way to proceed with the maeul-mandeulgi project, and to look for a source of financial resource instead of depending on the budget of the administrative organizations.

This study is to propose development direction of sang-dang mountain fortress toward the utilization of historical and cultural heritage as tourist attraction through the consideration of problems on sang-dang mountain fortress development. First of all, the historical significance, development project and status of Sang-dang mountain fortress was figured out. Furthermore, using pattern and general user's view was understood through the questionnaire survey then research on the actual condition of traditional korean village was performed. The ongoing development project focusing on restoration of cultural properties to its original state through an archaeological excavation investigation turned out to be lack of consideration on the utilization of sang-dang mountain fortress such as tourists inducement. Furthermore, the measures on traditional korean village which has been a problem by forming commercial area recklessly have been left off. Therefore, additional development plan is required on convenient and amenity facilities and rest places for visitors including environment improvement of traditional korean village based on the development for the restoration of cultural properties to its original state

This study focuses on design of supplementary evaluation indicator system geared towards comprehensive rearrangement projects in seats of township and town offices. In the first phase, it tries to reveal major problems and issues related to evaluation of the existing small town promotion projects. In terms of analytical tools, this study depends on the Delphi and AHP techniques. In specific, after three rounds of the Delphi methods, it extracts a series of alternative evaluation indicators derived from the AHP methods. It covers 5 major evaluation criteria, under which 18 independent items are hierarchically interconnected. It expects that these alternative evaluation indicators would contribute to selecting appropriate small town promotion projects. Next, applying these evaluation indicators, we examine couples of comprehensive rearrangement projects in seats of township and town offices. From the comparative contexts, we believe that the proposed alternative evaluation criteria would improve the general satisfaction level of key stakeholders in deciding the priority order of the small town promotion projects.

This study focuses on the applicability of hill housing design in accordance with topographic characteristics on sloping sites. The urgency for housing still exists but hill sites have to be planned by gradual development using 'all available land' within any particular community. However, there is a reaction towards being more closely involved with nature and landscape. Sloping and hill sites must be developed by intelligent and sensitive planning, integrating the existing environmental factors. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The conditions of location are regarded as the concepts of spactial configuration. It should be developed on the basis of awareness that nature and human beings exist together. 2. It is inevitable that the development of the hill housing should be performed prefer to the topographic characteristics. 3. Planning elements of ecological residental blocks which are possible for constructing on the hill site can be developed and applied, on the basis of geographical characteristics, by housing types.

As the rural economy is worsening day by day due to rapidly declined population and increase of aging generation, the emptiness in the rural areas are becoming increasingly intensifying. In particular, urban runoff of young adults and middle-aged people and the decrease in birth rate have shrunk the rural population reaching to raise concerns on the stage of emptiness. On the other hand, people in the urban areas with rapid industrialization and overcrowding call for the variety of housing needs moving away from monolithic housing types. In order to solve problems of rural communities such as emptied out rural society as well as the problems of urban communities in overcrowdings, environment, and housing, it is required to develop an urban-countryside village complex pursuing advantages of the rural environment and convenience of urban living. Of this time, there needs a change in rural development policies which can make the urban residents migrate and settle in the rural areas as they are naturally embracing the rural life according to the social background and demand.

Today, educational facilities are considered to be one of the most important built environment. And the appropriate combinations and applications of technical elements related to green building on the education facilities are emphasized and demanded. These are must be compatible with the occupants' activities and their needs. The objective of this research is to identify and analyze of green building technologies, based on Green Educational Facilities' Case Study in Korea, USA, and Japan. As a result of the comparative analysis of this research, the green technological approaches, problem, and characteristics on educational facilities in different area, climate zone are identified and analyzed by external environment, energy, materials and resources, and indoor environment. It is useful as basic reference for future green educational facilities' planning and design in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to set and analyze the standard model for prioritizing and deciding to take part in housing environment improvement project in the perspective of the public sector. The results of this study were as follows. The location competitiveness, potential demand, marketability and competitive price, etc were selected by assessment indicators. And Various indicators, including of the size of the area, public transportation, accessibility, convenience of living and the influx of the population, were used by weights indexes. The profit of local residents and the public promoter, variability of earnings, sensitivity analysis and the ratio of money in reserve, etc were also established as detailed indexes for the profitability and business risk analysis. To analyze the cash flow of the project process and review the necessary capital in advance, the payback, total working expenses, gearing ratio and sensitivity of a risk, etc were also set as additional detailed indexes. Lastly, considering it is quasi-public projects, the measure to protect tenants, necessity need of redevelopment and local government's will were additionally used by indexes. And Points were distributed on the importance of each index and scored out of 100. It will allow for the public project promoter to decide rationally whether to come in on the project. The public project promoter like the Korea Land and Housing Corporation will be able to make use of various indexes are based on this study to make decision whether joining the housing environment improvement project in depressed region.

This study is aimed to survey on the perception of residents about general contents and current status of urban traditional houses in Cheongju. A study on methods is using questionnaire which 12 items of attraction in Urban Traditional Houses and experimental study focusing on residents in Seowoon-dong and Seokgyo-dong where traditional houses are concentrated. As a result, residents of urban traditional houses were categorized 6 sectors, which 4 sectors of Seowoon-dong and 2 setors of Seokgyo-dong, caused by the road construction. The urban spatial structures of these sectors are maintained, comparing with aerial photography on 1960's. And residents recognize eco-friendly attraction higher than awareness on traditionality, locality and aesthetic beauty. It is proposed to prepare political alternative about traditionality, locality and aesthetic beauty. Low awareness about traditionality and locality have influenced that residents hope the change of the traditional houses.

Transformation which is the major damage factor of living space in folk village is caused by improvement behaviors reflecting real requirements of residents who are the subjects of life. Such a process changes traditional space structure gradually and lowers preservative value of folk village. Therefore this study examines transformational conditions of living space centering around changes of spatial components and plane forms through literature and field research and analyzes characteristics of transformational phenomenon. This study examined changes of components and transformation of Seongeup folk village. While main room plane was diversified by residents' requirements, it was not harmonized with traditional image of Seongeup folk village. Transformation of living space at Seongeup Folk Village was positive from the side of residents' living requirements, but negative in that it damaged unique identity of folk village. Accordingly, it is thought that deliberation considering residents' living requirements as the field of their life with maintenance of original form for the purpose of preserving folk village and professionals' support and legal study for revision of approval system are continuously required.

Korean Society have changed already an agricultural society to industrial society. and changed industrial society to the an information society now. Korea society is suffering from the process a lot of pain. In this situation, the housing condition in rural areas tend been getting worse. The purpose of this study is to establish guidelines for the architectural planning. Previous studies relating to housing is divided into a few theme, we can be considered. First, the study on rental housing industry development, research on housing policy, the study on housing supply, the study on management and residents of rental housing. According to this study, public housing in Hyogo each locality, climate, availability may reflect the complex consists of the design. For example, a single-family homes, 2 row houses, townhouses type. House Plans are similar to the urban housing. So this house as the city's life can be reflected. So the house plans to respond to people's lives. The house characteristics of the four housing complex is appropriate for rural circumstances, housing location, the roof shape, and the harmonious color. This house forms makes good the view with the surrounding natural environment.

The purpose of this study is to derive and to apply green factors focusing on the existing old settlements, Topdong 'Yangdalmal' in Cheongju City. This study is conducted through literatures and GBCC (Green Building Certification Criteria) review. Literatures cover the traditional characteristics of farming village and the modern characteristics of urban space today. The results are following as; first, Land Use, Environment, Resource and Energy are the most important green factors by literatures and GBCC. Second, traditional elements and natural elements such as history and culture, natural resource use and passive planning are added. Finally information communication is added as the green factor showed feature of modern society.
