The purpose of this study was to develop guidelines for sustainability of back-to-farm community village in 4 aspects; social environment, maintenance and management, regional environment, and economic environment. These 4 aspects, which count for sustainability, based on the comprehensive comparative analysis about items that field survey and literature suggested. Conclusions of guideline are of the following. The guidelines on social environment are developed by 3 items; resident participation and activity, village leader, decision making in village and person in charge of operation. The guidelines on maintenance and management are developed by 5 items; village operation system, village regulation, transparency of management, village operation expenses, and management type. The guidelines on regional environment are developed by 2 items; support by central and local government, and area projects and connection to regional resources. The guideline on economic environment is not developed due to low demands of based production facilities and income increase facilities.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure and use change of the private space according to the balcony expansion and use it as the data of plan design. According to Bay, front length/width ratio and the change of balcony space before and after expansion of space organization of house units were analyzed. Common characteristics of Flat type and Tower type are an increase of the frontage length of house units in an apartment, an increase of the number of front bay, and an increase of integrated LDK focusing on living room. A difference is that Flat type shows high frontage ratio, Bay figure, and spatial arrangement favorable to front openness and lighting. Flat type shows higher area distribution than Tower type in LDK area distribution located in at the plane center. Spatial expandability and visual openness of Flat type are more beneficial than those of Tower type in the planning, and a balcony extension of house units has developed to direction to open more. Tower type creates various block images through a combination of house units focusing on the core. Uses after balcony expansion are area expansion of a balcony-neighboring room, storage space, expansion and function improvement of the variable range, and specialized space different from a neighboring room. In addition, there is no escapable space except for a shelter, so unit plan should be prepared to prevent using it other space of a shelter and to solve moving line of two-way horizontal refuge and vertical refuge.

This study investigated the basic data of architectural design about framework dimensions inherent in a folk house of Yeosu city generally and systematically. We investigated the common dimensions of framework constitution for folk house (main building) seen a lot in Yeosu city. Most of the folk houses in Yeosu city were common people houses built from the end of 19th century to the 1960s and have maintained the same style for a long time. As a result of the study, common dimensions were calculated in two ways. One is Front toi/3ryang house and the other is Front/back toi/2kozu5ryang house. Front/back toi house was large in the case of full width, total height, and member thickness but, width of the front kan is no big difference. In other words, the scale of Front toi house and Front/back toi house is difference only in the rest except front kan (width). Among calculated common dimensions, the front kan of Front toi house and Front/back toi house in the plan, the kitchen is the widest, and the size is the same at 8.7 chucks degree. The next became small little by little in order of room 1(main room), room 2(center room), room 3(end room). As a result, the size of the room 3 of Front toi house reaches 7.7 chucks, and room 3 of Front/back toi house reaches 8.0 chucks. In the section dimensions, pillar height is in sum of floor height and pillar core height, Front toi house is 7.9 chucks, and Front/back toi house is 8.2 chucks. The investigation of basic data of architectural design is not only makes possible to grasp specific and simple to three-dimensional universal aspect on framework dimensions, but also documentation of folk house design know-how is done, and the architectural design standards of Korean folk house is written in the contents according to the area.

Even in modern times, we are accustomed to the lifestyle of floor heating system in which the floor is heated for warmth like Ondol, which is the traditional Korean heating system. So, this study was designed to understand the preferred floor temperature through the questionnaires targeting the local residents living in K region. This study would also find out the floor temperature which is preferred by young people and old people through the experiments. The findings are as follows; (1) the old people do not prefer the temperature higher than young people do. It was found that the old people prefer the floor temperature of 40℃ under the air temperature of 20℃ or the floor temperature of 41℃ under the air temperature of 20℃. (2) Both young people and old people tend to like the average skin temperature of 35.5℃. The skin temperature which both young and old people like was 35.2℃ under the air temperature of 24℃ and the skin temperature preferred by young people was 0.4℃ higher than that preferred by under the air temperature of 20℃ (p<0.01). (3) It was found in the questionnaires that the young people prefer the higher floor temperature in terms of age and that the people who get older in their 50s or higher tend to prefer the lower temperature.

As part of the housing policy on the concentration of large cities due to economic growth, large-scale construction was carried out for many years, but the focus of the quality improvement was largely on the quality supply. With criticism that such large-scale housing construction is distorting urban and rural landscape, it was forced from 2000 to apply the district unit plan to the development of housing sites with a certain scale and the district unit plan. In addition, it evaluated how the rural and urban landscape would look during the planning of the District Unit Plan, and how the resulting space would have an objective effect on urban and rural areas and how it would be evaluated for harmony. Therefore, this study applies and evaluates the weighted value of each inspection point selected by Lee lim jung (2016) to compare and analyze the actual application of the inspection point and the review report. As a result, it was assessed that no rational landscape planning was established because many simulation presentations were made at the lower priority point, and little was presented at the higher priority. The view point weights were distributed in the Landscape Review of the District Unit Plan with a score of up to 36 points from the lowest of 6 points, which resulted in the view simulation being reviewed in terms of various aspects.

The vernacular houses with 田-shaped floor plan at Gangreung have been played important roles in tracing the vernacular living cultures including housing life. But due to the adoption of convenient facilities in vernacular housing lives caused by modernization and urbanization, many changes and transformations have happened at residential space of vernacular houses. This thesis targets to extract basic data to prepare and prevent various problems in process of renovation, extension and function change as installing housing life facilities, and to identify the changes and transformations of them to prepare the proper balances between their original form preservation and residents’ convenience living. The results are as follows. The inner wall removal of rooms, the fuel change of cooking and heating, the leveling change of kitchen floor made possible the sedentary lifestyles. And its residential rooms were transformed from two row to one row by inner wall removal, the fuel heating change, the heating method change and the heat insulating materials. The residential extension materials were changed from the traditional materials such as soil, wood, etc to the modern materials such as cement block or brick, sandwich panel, etc. And the modern materials were used and attached to widen residential spaces to the vernacular house because of the easiness of execution. So, it is necessary for 田-shaped floor plan vernacular house owners to distribute printed execution guide book to prevent and minimize the various problems to be shown by extension, renovation and function change.
