Golf is one of the most popular sport in the world and has been dominating by US since the early twentieth century. Many researchers have agreed with that the birthplace of golf is St. Andrews in Scotland but this opinion is yet to be confirmed more scientifically in the near future. This study examined the foundations of relevant organizations in US golf history and how the media celebrated Ouimet's achievements and that influenced on american people in golf. Also why he was considered as a first american hero in golf in the United States. Despite the fact that there exist a variety of different putting stroke methods, according to the state of the art of the current putting performance, all of the methods share the one principle: the target direction matches with a swing path. In this manner, when the target direction matches with the swing path, 100% of the force transferred to a putter head may be delivered to the ball so that the golfer may directly control the ball to move in the target direction. What will happen when we violate the principle of square impact? The purpose of this study was to propose a new putting theory based on the effects of separating putterfacce angle from swing path. The new putting method involves generating regular distortion to a traveling path of the ball by facing the face portion to the first target and by swinging the putter toward the second target. By generating such regular distortion, the putting method achieves controlling and moving the ball in a desired destination. The author also describes the traveling path of the putted ball, the regularity generated by the method and the increased probability of the putting success.

The objective of this study was to explain the relations among service encounter at a golf practice range, perceived service quality, general satisfaction, and repurchase intention using previous research and hypothesized models on how personal contact and business contact between service provider and customer at a golf practice range are related with the customer’s perceived service quality, general satisfaction, and repurchase intention. Covariance structure analysis was performed in order to examine the causal relation between satisfaction with contact type and repurchase intention in service encounter at a golf practice range. From these research procedures and methods were obtained results as follows. First, in service encounter between service provider and student, the higher the perception of personal contact was, the higher perceived service quality was. Second, the higher the perception of personal contact between service provider and student was, the higher general satisfaction was. Third, the higher perceived service quality was, the higher general satisfaction was. Fourth, the higher perceived service quality was, the higher repurchase intention was. Fifth, the higher general satisfaction was, the higher repurchase intention was. Summing up these results, golf practice range users’ perception of the positive sides of personal contact with service provider enhances their perceived service quality, and their perception of service quality improves their general satisfaction. In addition, general satisfaction induces repurchase intention. Accordingly, the maintenance and management of personal contact at golf practice ranges for improving perceived service quality and general satisfaction from customers’ position is considered to lay the base for promoting customer relationship marketing

This study is desgined to identify employ status of golf caddies in the Korean golf industry and to provide possible recommendations according to a judgement standard of workers defined in the Korean Labor law. In Korea, golf caddies are regarded as “independent contractors under the Korean labor law.” Unfortunately, since golf caddies in Korea are not considered as workers, they are not protected by law from an unfair treatment, unequal opportunity and employment, sexual harassment, and injuries. That is, there is limited options to get compensation. therefore, the Labor laws can be reconsidered, modified, or applied broadly to the labor market for independent contractors, golf caddies. First possible recommendation is that a judgment standard of workers defined in the Korean Labor law should be broadened to include the independent contractors, golf game assistants. Second, the term workers defined in the Labor Standard Act and the Trade Union &Adjustment Act is not identical. Third, while maintaining the traditional distinction between a worker and a non-worker under the Labor law, some minimal protections such as Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance or social security program should be applied to golf caddies.
