The purpose of this study is to find ways of improving radiology services provided at hospitals through examining current problems of the services and measuring patient satisfaction about them. For the purpose, this researcher made a questionnaire survey of 209 patients who used the radiology departments of two university hospitals as tertiary medical institutions located in Busan, The survey was carried out from June 1 to July 30, 2008. Results of the study can be summarized as follows. The patients' satisfaction about the kindness of radiologists was generally low since it was measured to be scored 3.0 or below in average. This indicates that they were dissatisfied with the equipment and environment. The patients' anxiety about the process of radiology was measured and scored 3.0 or below in average, indicating they generally felt anxious about the process. Factors affecting the above reliability such as their skillfulness, qualification, persuasiveness and expertise were found positively correlated with the patients' satisfaction about the radiologists. To realize Better radiological department services, in conclusion, radiologists are required to resort to conventional practices of radiology no longer, and reconsider current radiological technologies. They are also required to firmly establish their pride as a professional, and make best efforts to keep pace with this era of rapid scientific development by constantly training themselves.

This study aims at deriving any useful information necessary to strengthen the competitiveness for growth through empirical analyses on a general hospital located in a province in order to countermeasure the opening and competition of medical markets. The characteristics of user were identified on the basis of disease groups under KCD in the research method. In addition, the analysis on the expenses of diagnosis and treatment was divided into the treatment progress and degree of hospital resource utilization. And the regression was carried out to identify the impacts of characteristics of inpatient users on the degree of hospital resource utilization. As a result of major research, the inpatient users of the general hospital located in the provincial area in consideration of inpatient users were formed around the inpatient disease groups representative for Korea( diseases of the respiratory system, injury and poisoning & certain other consequences of external causes). And it was understood that most of residents within a distance of 40 minute by the public transportation were using. And mostly were under the age of 9 or over 60, and the provision of medical features such as the degree of consultation and operational functions were inadequate. When we classify inpatient treatment cost for each resource application as the medical cost being the center of patient care function, the equipment and human resource application sector are constituted over half. Accordingly, the following suggestions are made as plans to strengthen the competitiveness for the growth of general hospitals located in the provincial areas on the basis of analytical results. First, it is necessary to have the characterization matching to the age and disease groups with a high frequency. Second, it is necessary to increase the degree of hospital resource utilization according to the characterization. Third, it is necessary to concentrate on public relations. The above suggestion, as a method for securing image improvement and competitive power as a general hospital, and through expansion of social function that a regional general hospital needs to secure not only as an individual institution but also as a general hospital, it can be seen that a general improvement of image as a regional general hospital is possible.

The goal of this paper is to estimate firm performance of hospital coordinators through a survey on employees of medical institutions placed in Busan and Ulsan. The survey for this paper is constituted by 34 questions of 4 groups related to firm performance, qualification requirement, general fact and a certificate of qualification. The survey was carried out from September 12th, 2008 to September 24th 2008 and 388 question sheets collected finally and used for result analysis. In the result analyses related to hospital coordinator and firm performance, we found some principal outcomes such that 88.6% of respondents approved that hospital image by patients and customers is raised, 87.7% of respondents approved that degree of patient's satisfaction on hospital services is raised, and 81.5% of respondents approved that employees recognized importance of services on customers, by hospital coordinators. In the result analysis on differences in firm performance by presence of a certificate of qualification for hospital coordinator, there were meaningful differences in degree of patient's satisfaction, financial performance and degree of employee's recognition on importance of services. From the all of the above results, we verified that establishment and improvement of educational process for hospital coordinator should be performed through researches on degree of patient's and costumer's satisfaction for hospital coordinator, degree of hospital coordinator's satisfaction for the job and surveys of requirements from related industry.

In order to analyze possible effects of senior hospital selection factors and service satisfaction on senior hospital patients' revisit of senior hospital, this study surveyed guardians of total 204 patients hospitalized in major 4 senior hospitals in Busan. As a result, this study came to the following conclusions: First, it was found that guardians considered appropriateness of medical treatment cost as the biggest factor of choice, which was followed by kindness of doctor and hospital employees, locational accessibility (traffic convenience), and doctor's medical capacity. Second, the factor analysis about patients' satisfaction showed that the influential factors consisted of satisfaction at medical staffs, satisfaction at nursing and care, and satisfaction at facilities. Third, there was not significant difference in the overall impression of hospital and the intention of revisit depending upon sociological variables. Fourth, satisfaction at nursing and care and satisfaction at facilities had significant effects on better satisfaction at overall impression of hospital, and it was noted that the shorter admission period and the less complaint led to the higher intention of revisit. Therefore, it is necessary to improve satisfaction at medical staffs, nursing and care, and facilities rather than patients' own sociological characteristics.

This study is to grasp selection factors and habits of information searching of customers of ophthalmic service and to verify the differences in them and to investigate how they affect in selecting medical institute by demographic sociological characters, selection factors by classification and habits of information searching, how many times they used and the type of medical treatment. The result of analysis of importance of selection factors of medical institute, it showed that doctors' career were evaluated high by classification and it showed in order of university hospital, hospital, clinic in facilities and equipment and in order of university hospital, clinic, hospital in distance∙transportation Analysis of importance of selection factors by sex distinction, it showed that doctors' career were high for both male and female and according to the result of analysis of selection factors by an age, doctors' career variable was measured high and it showed in order of facilities, equipment, distance and convenient transportation. The result of analysis by the form of medical treatment, doctors' career were measured high in all diseases. Facilities and equipment were measured high in case of a corrective operation of eyesight and distance∙transportation variable showed high in simple eye diseases. According to the result of analysis of habits of searching information by utility frequency, one's own experience in the past(direct visits) was the highest over all and it showed in order of introduction of other ophthalmic department in case of people who go to the institutes many times.

This study was trying to find the differences of the levels of e-commerce system satisfaction and a relationship between system satisfactions and behavioral intention to use e-commerce system continuously. Based on the previous studies, we identified the factors of system satisfaction that were consist of system readiness, accuracy, content, ease of use, timeliness and IT Support. The system satisfaction levels of martial status and the training status of hospitals had significant differences. In martial status, un-married managers had higher levels of ease of use and timeliness than the married. In this result, we might consider an age effect for younger persons are more likely to use IT and have more satisfaction perceptions. Rather than training hospitals, non-training hospitals had higher level of ease of use and IT support, which could be interpreted as e-commerce systems of training hospitals might not match their own managerial purposes and need an improvement of their system functionalities. This study also identified that the factors of system satisfaction has a relationship with behavioral intentions. Except accuracy and IT support of all six system satisfaction factors, four factors were significantly correlated with system usage intentions in their e - commerce works.

This study was carried out to find out the of attitude and knowledge to blood donors in college and University students to provide basic data necessary for managing current blood donation system. The data were collected from 844 students from september 8 to 21, 2008 by using a self-administered questionnaire. The results were as follows: The major demographic characteristics were female 55.8% and the age group of 20-24s 60.5%, no religion 43.5%, blood type A 34.8% and so on. The major motivation for blood donation were to obtain a blood donation certificate to knowing necessary to blood donation 27.1%, take a voluntary service scored and souvenir 18.7%, and worthwhile and pride 9.9%. The experience the blood donation was 53.8%(male 69.2%, female 41.6%) of participants. Students who had more knowledge and desirable attitude about blood donation experienced more blood donations. It is important to clarify factors affecting blood donation practice and to encourage the public education and campaign which enable public has accurate knowledge and positive attitude about blood donation.

The purpose of this study is to propose ways of promoting medical tourism in Busan. For the purpose, this researcher made a questionnaire survey of Japanese tourists who used in Busan International Ferry Terminal between January and April 30, 2008. Findings of the study can be summarized as follows. 86.3% of all respondents had never experienced any medical service in Korea. 57.3% said that the most important thing is the level of medical technology. Most of respondents preferred massage treatment using spa and sea water, followed by Oriental medical services. To make medical conditions(price competitiveness, high-level medical technology, high-quality medical facilities) of Busan properly informed to the outside, it is required to make the city itself more internationally recognized through public relations and strengthening individual medical services provided in the city. It is also required to build up a non-stop service system that helps foreign tourists not only easily use medical institutions, but also better cope with a variety of problems that they might face during stay in the city. To be more trustable to foreign patients, medical services of Busan should be certified by JCI. Furthermore, it is very much needed to develop products which connect medicine with tourism., for example, such programs that combine medical services, tourism, recreation and leisure.
