Objectives: This study is prepared to understand the past of the KJHSM (Korean Journal of Health Service Management), to analyze the papers in the KJHSM, to identify the research trends during 2007~2018, and to help the future development of research. Methods: The data for the objectives was collected major KCI index and key words of the articles in KCI web site. Results: The KJHSM has good performaces that KCI IF(2 year) is 0.98, Centrality Index(3 Year) is 1.188, Immediacy index is 0.19, and Self Citation Rate(2 Year) is 25.81. Conclusions: In order to improve the academic quantity and quality in the KSHSM, we will need the vision to corporate and participate through more good research results and performance with desirable ethic value.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore the developmental direction of the hospital management field that contributes to the academic and practical development of the health care industry and to establish its identity by using the Korean Journal of Health Service Management. Methods: A total of 156 papers were analyzed from April 2007 to December 2018. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were performed using SPSS 25.0. Results: The volume of articles published in the hospital management field was decreasing and the ratio was relatively low due to the nature of the journal. The disposition of the papers in the hospital management field excessively focused on the organizational behavior field, and research in the management field that was difficult to access was decreasing. In addition, about 83% of the participants were drawn from hospitals. Conclusions: It is necessary to present guidelines for publication of theses so that a managerial approach can be made rather than an approach to industrial psychological theory verification.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends in age-friendly research and suggest directions for future research. Methods: For this study, 112 articles related to age-friendly research were selected, from 605 published articles in The Korean Journal of Health Service Management (2007-2018). Content analysis and text network analysis were conducted using SPSS 23.0 and NetMiner 4. Results: First, 2 authors (30.4%) and 4 keywords (45.5%) were the most studied. Most of the studies used quantitative research (93.8%). Primary data (61.9%) and SPSS (77.7%) were the most used for analysis. Second, there were seven common keywords in the top 10 in all the centralities. They were Elderly, Geriatric Hospital, Depression, Care Workers, Long-Term Care Facilities, Experience, and Attitude. Conclusions: This study shows the need for diversity of research topics, subjects, research methods, and analytical tools in future age-friendly related studies. In addition, it suggests activating convergence research in this field linked to various industries and services.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the papers on nursing in the KJHSM (Korean Journal of Health Service Management) (2007-2018), to identify the research trends and to help the future development of nursing research. Methods: The data collection was carried out from September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019. The 78 copies of the original text were provided by the KSHSM website, DBpia, and NDSL (National Digital Science Library) electronic database. Results: Forty-seven studies had a non-experimental design, with most having a descriptive research design (89.3%). The most common participants were nurses (55.7%) and nursing college students (26.1%). A questionnaire was the most commonly used research tools (96.2%) and data collection methods (95.0%). The major keywords were the terms included in the environmental domain among the meta-paradigms of nursing (43.6%). Conclusions: In order to expand the quantity and quality of nursing science in the KSHSM, efforts are needed to improve the quality of research participants, research tools, and sampling methods.

Objectives: The study’s purpose was to analyze the research trends and future directions of dental hygiene papers. Methods: In order to search for papers for this study, a survey was conducted using the Korean Journal of Health Service Management publications listed on The Korean Society of Health Service Management’s website. Results: A total of 76 articles were published in the dental hygiene study. Its main trend was having oral health problems with 32 episodes. The most common word used in the Journal of Health Industry for the past 12 years is “health”. Conclusions: Considering the results of the analysis of the Korean Journal of Health Service Management, the development of convergence research in health care and dental hygiene should be explored.

Objectives: This study analyzed the influence of the career plateau phenomenon and distributive justice among hospital nurses on their turnover intention and the moderating effect of proactivity on these correlations. Methods: Survey data from 459 out of 500 hospital nurses at 9 hospitals were collected and used for analysis. SPSS 24.0 was used for conducting regression, validity, and reliability analyses. Results: Career plateau was positively related to turnover intention, whereas distributive justice was negatively related to turnover intention. Proactivity strengthened the positive influence of career plateau on turnover intention. By contrast, proactivity alleviated the negative relation between distributive justice and turnover intention. Conclusions: This study empirically confirmed that career plateau and distributive justice are important antecedent factors of the turnover intention of hospital nurses. Proactivity played a key moderating role between these antecedent factors and turnover intention. Theoretical and practical implications of this study were also discussed.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate digital interventions on psychological well-being in patients with cancer through an integrated review. Methods: Fifteen studies were selected using PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, DBpia, and RISS. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network was used by two reviewers to evaluate independently the quality of the selected articles. Results: Digital interventions for improving psychological well-being in cancer patients were most often based on cognitive behavioral therapy alone or a combination of interventions with professionals and other patients. In addition, a number of interventions were established on internet-based mindfulness therapy. Conclusions: Providing cognitive behavioral intervention alone did not significantly improve the level of depression or anxiety of patients with cancer. Meanwhile, interventions, including cognitive behavior therapy and interactions with professionals and other patients, were found to reduce significantly the level of depression or anxiety in the experimental group.

Objectives: This study examined the degree of professional autonomy of nurses as perceived by nurses and doctors, as well as the relation between professional autonomy, job satisfaction, and turnover intention of nurses. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted with 292 nurses and 121 physicians working in 10 small- and medium-sized hospitals with located in G Metropolitan City. Results: The difference in the level of nurses’ professional autonomy as perceived by nurses and physicians was found to be significantly higher in nurses than in physicians. Professional autonomy and job satisfaction were significantly and positively correlated; professional autonomy and turnover intention were significantly and negatively correlated; and job satisfaction and turnover intention were also significantly and negatively correlated. Conclusions: Various efforts to increase nurses’ professional autonomy and the development of effective workforce management programs to prevent turnover should be actively conducted to address the problems of small- and medium-sized hospitals facing a shortage of nurses.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the quality and reputation of medical services in hospitals run by Gangwon-do 1,3, and 10 dentists, to investigate the mitigation effects of trust and quality on patient satisfaction and loyalty. Methods: Of the 600 surveys collected, 578 were used. Results: Although there were differences in dental services by type of institution, fame influenced patient satisfaction in all three institutions, and patient satisfaction also affected loyalty in all three institutions. The moderating effect of trust was shown to one dentist, and physician trust was shown to have a moderating effect. Conclusions: The establishment of reputation trust and the practice of dental medical services are important for attracting patients.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between academic burn out and the quality of life of college students of health and medical science, and to examine the mediating effects of self-efficacy on the relationship between them. Methods: The data of 379 college students of health and medical science in the Department of Korean Medicine and Nursing located in A and D cities were collected from March to July 2018, and were analyzed using SPSS 24.0 Statistics Program. Results: There was no mediating effect of self-efficacy on the Physical Component Score(PCS), which indicates the physical health index of quality of life in relation to academic exhaustion and quality of life of university students. However, the Mental Component Score(MCS), which indicates the mental health index, had a significant effect on the parameter of self-efficacy (β = .382, p <.001). Although the β value for the school exhaustion and MCS decreased from -.382 to -.209, the effect remains significant (β=-.209, p<.001). Conclusions: It is considered that the development and the application of a self-efficacy enhancement program is necessary to improve of self-efficacy and reduce academic burn out of college students of health and medical science.

Objectives: This study analyzed the prescription antibiotics characteristics of Acute respiratory infection outpatients. It provides a basis for establishing the correct evaluation project on appropriate prescribing indicators. Methods: The research data were collected from the National Health Insurance Corporation's 2014 sample cohort for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Family Medicine and General practitioner clinics classification of diseases codes J00-J06, J20-J22, J40 outpatients. Results: The antibiotic prescription rate on the evaluation project for appropriate prescribing indicators of Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service was 43.54%, whereas in this study it was about 10% higher because the analysis targeted the entire acute respiratory infection diagnosis. Conclusions: There is a need to identify the correct antibiotic prescription by expanding the current assessment standard. Such standard must include acute lower respiratory infections and minor diagnosis because current evaluation projects on appropriate prescribing indicators targets only the major diagnosis of acute upper respiratory infection.

Objectives: To analyze the radiologic results of patients treated with bone defects treated with beta-tricalcium phostphate (β-TCP) in orthopedic surgery. Methods: Medical records of 49 patients, consisting of 24 (49.0%) men and 25 (51.0%) women were retrospectively reviewed. Graft incorporation was evaluated based on Irwin’s radiologic staging. Results: The explanatory power of the total regression equation in Irwin’s stage at 3 months postoperatively according to three explanatory variables, namely graft tightness, age at diagnosis, and lesion volume, was 65.6%; the explanatory power of Irwin’s stage at 6 months postoperatively according to two variables, namely lesion volume and graft tightness, was 32.9%; and the explanatory power of Irwin’s stage at 9 months postoperatively for two variables, namely longitudinal lesion length and graft tightness in the total regression, was 30.8%. Conclusions: Graft tightness, lesion volume, age at diagnosis, and longitudinal lesion length are the common factors affecting graft incorporation.

Objectives: Work-Family Balance (WFB) is a significant social issue in Korea. We examined the effects of employees’ burnout on organizational performances by determining the moderating effect of family-friendly organizational culture in firefighter’s organization. Methods: To test the hypothesis, data were collected from firefighters who are working at five fire stations in Deajeon and Chungnam province. Based on quantitative survey from 489 respondents, hierarchical regression analyses were performed. Results: The analysis revealed that job burnout had a negative effect on both organizational commitment (OC) and organizational citizen behavior (OCB). Family-Supportive Organization Perception (FSOP) negatively moderated the relationship between burnout and OCB. On the other hand, there was no significant moderating effect of FSOP on the relationship between burnout and OC. Conclusions: This study raises the importance of creating an organizational culture that gives its members a belief that the organization guarantees and supports the work-family balance system.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the predictors of quality of life (QOL) for terminal cancer patients admitted into the community health center, and to establish a hypothetical model to explain and verify causative relationships among the variables. Methods: Data were collected from January 2015 to June 2016. Participants were 237 registered patients in Busan Metropolitan City hospice & palliative care center. The descriptive and correlation statistics were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 24.0, and the structural equation modeling procedure was performed using the AMOS 24.0 program. Results: The results of this study showed that the physical symptoms of terminal cancer patients were the most direct factors affecting the QOL, and satisfaction with health care services has a direct effect on the QOL. Conclusions: The study contributes to drawing up measures to improve QOL for terminally ill cancer patients who are living in the end-of-life section of the community by revealing the causal relationship to the QOL for terminal cancer patients.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the mediating effects of health promotion behaviors on the correlation between self-perceived health and medical care utilization among older adults. Methods: This study used data from a . Data were analyzed with frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression. Mediation analysis was performed according to the Sobel test. Results: The self-perceived health and some health promotion behaviors in older adults had a statistically significant effect on medical care utilization. Only the nutritional management of health promotion behaviors had a mediating effect on the relation between the self-perceived health and medical care utilization of older adults. Conclusions: The nutritional management of older adults was confirmed as an important factor to health promotion and prevention. This study was meaningful in that it identified the political directions for establishing health care policy for the older adults.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of participation in leisure activities on the quality of life by comparing gender and household type. Methods: Data were drawn from the 2017 Korean Elderly Survey and the participants were 7,406 people who are 65 years and above. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS (version 18.0) statistical package. Results: The result of this study revealed that participation in leisure activities has a significant effect on the quality of life of In the case of older adults who are men and live with couple, voluntary activities have a significant effect on their quality of life, while for elderly women living alone, arts & cultural activities have a significant effect on their quality of life. Conclusions: Based on these results, we suggested some implications for supporting healthy leisure activities and improving the level of quality of life among aged people.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of the senior welfare center users of the health service program, and to establish a plan to adjust the health service functions of the senior center. Methods: A survey of 2,130 users of the Gyeonggi-do Senior Welfare Center was conducted from May 28 to June 30, 2018. Results: The major results of the study are as follows. First, 66.8 percent of senior welfare center users were willing to participate in health care. The requirement for health service programs was 3.87 points out of 5 points followed by cognitive ability improvement programs, senior movement programs, and chronic disease programs in lower areas. Second, the factors affecting the needs of health care service programs of senior welfare center users had a significant impact on women; the younger the age, the better the subjective health condition; the higher the number of medical conditions, the lower the out-of-patient experience; the longer the welfare center isused, the more people are willing to participate in healthcare. Conclusions: We believe that there is a need for social service policies and management to better understand the situation of senior citizens who are demanding various services due to illness and to integrate health and welfare services.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to figure out that Facilitation education can affect significant improvement in sales staff’s understanding of precise pharmacokinetics, benefits, safety, and side effects, etc. and eventually lead to increase in call after taking courses. Methods: Data utilized in this study was collected from 413 sales staffs who completed Facilitation course for 5 months. This study used statistical methodologies, paired t-test, exploratory factor analysis, and logistic regression model in order to identify change in Call and after Facilitation courses. Results: The result shows that there are statistically significant increases in CALL quality after Facilitation courses based on the result of pared t-test. Moreover, Facilitation education is more effective in average time of one-time detail than average number of visits per day and average number of doctors per day from the result of logistic regression. Conclusions: In order for MR in pharmaceutical company to improve CALL quality, the education for precise pharmacokinetics, benefits, safety, and side effects is necessary. In addition, various professional training required for detail, including disease education, Selling Skills education, and literacy education are essential. Therefore, Facilitation education would be desirable choice in terms of pharmaceutical marketing strategy.

Objectives: This study analyzed the relationship between dietary behavior and health-related characteristics and experiences of major oral disease symptoms using online raw data on adolescent health behavior. Methods: Using the raw data on 61,858 adolescents collected through the 13th Adolescent Health Behavior Online Survey, a complex samples logistic regression analysis was conducted to assess risks of major oral diseases. Results: The less one consumes sweet drinks and the more one eats vegetables per day, the less likely one is to experience symptoms of tooth decay and periodontal diseases. Undergoing scaling and oral health education help prevent major oral diseases. Brushing after school lunch prevents periodontal diseases and foul breath, and using dental floss and interdental brush also help prevent periodontal diseases. Conclusions: To minimize experiences of oral diseases during adolescent years, it is necessary to periodically scale teeth and provide knowledge regarding the personal management of dental plaque through school oral health education.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine whether the self-rated health (SRH) could be a risk factor for compulsion. Methods: Data related with compulsion and SRH information were collected from 532 young adults aged over 20 years in South Korea. The distribution of the high and low SRH groups was analyzed using the chi-square test, whereas difference in quality of life (QoL) was analyzed using the t-test. Logistic regression was used to analyze the odds ratio (OR). Results: In the high and low-SRH groups, 44 (28.8%) and 23 (31.5%) men and 24 (10.4%) and 21 (27.6%) women, respectively, were at risk for compulsion (p<.001). For women, the compulsion scores of the low and high-SRH groups, respectively, were 15.8±9.53 and 9.9±8.47 (t=5.071, p<.001). The low-SRH group had higher ORs compared with the high-SRH group among women (OR 3.277, 95% confidence interval 1.699– 6.321, p<.001) in the original model, and this phenomenon was significant even after adjusting for age and residence type. Conclusions: Low SRH may be a risk factor for compulsion. Further research for improving SRH by developing preventive measures against compulsion is necessary.

Objectives: This study evaluated the perception on importance of interprofessional core competencies (PI-ICCP) scale. Methods: Data were collected from 353 college students of health. Content validity was tested using the content validity index for individual items(I-CVI) and for scale(S-CVI). Criterion validity was tested using the professional competencies scale developed by Choi. Reliability was evaluated using Cronbach’s coefficient alpha. The goodness-of-fit of the construct validity was determined through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. Results: The I-CVI of each item was .8 or higher for all items, and the S-CVI was .98. The reliability of the PI-IPCC was Cronbach's α=.98. The goodness-of-fit indices of the model were χ2=1811.54(p<.001), the comparative fit index (CFI)=.91, and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA)=.08, which satisfied the criteria. Conclusions: The construct and criterion-related validity of the perception for PI-ICCP scale were a good fit, so the instrument is appropriate for measuring perception on importance of interprofessional core competencies. Further research will be required using this instrument to investigate perception of interprofessional core competencies of health professionals.
