Objectives : This study aimed to identify the perception of quality improvement in health care and operational performance after the implementation of the Healthcare Accreditation. Methods : Data were collected from 5 hospitals that have experienced the 2th Healthcare Accreditation in Busan, South Korea. A Likert 5-point scale was used to measure the research variables and a structured questionnaire was used. Finally, 206 valid cases were analyzed using SPSS win 18.0. For hypothesis testing, hierarchical multiple regression analysis were performed. Results : The perception of quality improvement in health care after the implementation of the Healthcare Accreditation was higher than the operational performance. In the customer orientation and job performance, the perception of quality improvement in health care and operational performance had a significant influence. Conclusions : It is necessary to use the Healthcare Accreditation as a virtuous cycle of management that can ensure enforcement of workplace regulations and improve the members’ability to provide high quality medical services.

Objectives : The rapidly changing consumer-centric and customer-oriented nature of the medical environment results in significant cognitive load. We aimed to clarify the situation of emotional labor and job stress among hospital employees and seek policies and hospital management for employees' emotions. Methods : The study was conducted through a questionnaire about emotional labor and job stress among 554 individuals working in Seoul, in 9 national, public, and private hospitals. Results : The results of the emotional labor and job stress questionnaire showed statistically significant differences in surface behavior and job stress; both had higher values in employees from the private hospitals than employees from public hospitals. Conclusion : This study found that the stress of emotional labor is a serious problem in government medical institutions. In addition, these institutions need to provide internal customer satisfaction through the hospital ombudsman and harmonize work and healing programs by including plans for improvement.

Objectives : This study aimed to identify the impact of social responsibility(CSR) activities by the hospital on the organizational commitment and value of the hospital by the internal members, to recognize the importance of staff carry out social responsibility activities effectively in the relevant departments, and use planning as a vital element or establishing a long-term hospital management strategy. Methods : Data were collected from 800 the administrative practioners of the hospitals in 200 hospitals nationwide. A structured questionnaire was used to measure the research variables using a 5-point Likert scale. The final sample consisting of 230 was analyzed using SPSS. Results : It was found that economic, legal, and charitable CSR have a statistically significant effect on organizational commitment and value of hospital Conclusions : The results suggest that hospitals should a fulfilling the obligation to abide by the norms and rules to be strictly observed, social services and charitable activities for the community are a strategy to increase the organizational commitment and hospital value in the long run. These activities should be actively pursued in a way that is sustainable and long-term so that they can improve to management performance.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the effects of resonant leadership and structural empowerment on the job satisfaction of registered nurses working in hospitals. Methods : Data were surveyed from 307 nurses in three general hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do using self-administered questionnaires from March 15 to 31, 2016. We conducted t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 for analysis. Results : Resonant leadership and structural empowerment had significant effect on the job satisfaction of nurses. These two attributes of a quality work environment explained 45.3% and 40.1% of the variance in organizational and opportunity satisfaction while controlling for age, marital status, religion, education, work department, work type, career and work position. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that resonant leaders and structural empowerments contribute to nurse job satisfaction. Therefore, developing resonant leadership skills and structural empowerment among nurse leaders in hospitals will ensure the creation of healthy work environments that promote job satisfaction and retention of nurses.

Objectives : Recently, concerns about the smart healthcare industry has increased worldwide. This study estimates the economic effects of the smart healthcare industry by employing input-output analysis. Methods : In this study, 384*384 sector statistics of the Bank of Korea were also used as the initial analysis tool after adjustments, and, 29*29 sector statistics were also used as the major research method for the industry. The main analysis tools of this study, thus, included a comparison of backward and forward-linkage effects and the inducement effects of the own-industry and other industries, as well as inducement coefficients, including production, value-added, employee's pay, operating surplus, production tax, and employment. Results : The results of the analysis show that the smart healthcare industry has an immense economic impact, affecting major macroeconomic factors including value-added and forward –linkage effects. Additionally, the inducement effects of the smart healthcare industry are significant compared to other industries in terms of production, employee's pay, operating surplus, production tax, and employment. Conclusions : The smart healthcare industry is a growth engines for national development, because it is the industry of high value-added services. This paper offers alternatives for efficient industrial policies.

Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the types of unmet health care needs of the elderly and factors affecting them. Methods : This study used data from the 2012 Community Health Survey. Multinomial logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify the relevance between each type of unmet health care needs and predisposing, enabling, and needs factors, based on the cases without unmet health care needs. Results : Persons with unmet health care needs were 4,460 (9.5%) of the total sample. By types of unmet health care needs, 1,171 (2.5%), 1,026 (2.2%), and 2,263 (4.8%) persons reported inaccessibility, non-accommodativeness, and unaffordability respectively. It was concluded that the there were differences in the associated factors according to the types of unmet medical needs. Conclusion : It is suggested that unmet health care needs in the elderly should be examined from diverse angles rather than from a single aspect of partial limits. In particular, diverse types of unmet health care needs for health care in the elderly according to limited accommodation shoulder be examined. Finally, strategies to decrease unmet health care needs that reflect the associated factors should be developed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the development of general and oral health improvement programs for the elderly by analyzing the effect of health risk factors on the remaining teeth of the elderly in day care centers. Methods : The subjects were 294 elderly people who used day care centers in Seoul. Results : In terms of health risk factors, the elderly who did not have diabetes or smoke had more remaining teeth. In terms of oral health risk factors, the elderly with no dental caries, periodontal disease and dental pain had more remaining teeth. Conclusions : It is necessary to activate systematic welfare services for the elderly that fit their lifestyle in the light of the health and oral health risk factors of the elderly who use day care centers.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the effects of economic support on working women’s depressive symptoms, using the dataset of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family (KLoWF 4th). There were 2,055 subjects. Methods : A multiple regression model was used to study the association between two-income families and symptom of depression, controlling for socio-demographic characteristics, spouse relationship characteristics (couple activity, household labor, relationship with spouse). Results : Authors found a negative relationship between couple activity (b=-0.151, p<0.001) and depressive symptoms, a positive relationship between household labor (b=0.045, p=0.001) and depressive symptoms, and a negative relationship between relationship with spouse (b=-0.386, p<0.001) and depressive symptoms. Conclusions : The results of this study show the importance of spousal support in promoting the marital relationship and mental health among married working women.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to suggest the optimal cut off for best, very good, good, slightly bad, and bad grades. Methods : The subjects were recruited from 4 areas of South Korea and 487 questionnaires were analyzed. The nominal and continuous self-rated health questions were used to reveal the optimal cut off and the Short Form-12 Health Survey questionnaire (SF-12) was additionally used. Frequency, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and ROC-curve analysis were used; the significance level was <.05. Results : Subjects assigned 15(3.1%), 90(18.5%), 237(48.7%), 130(26.7%), and 15(3.1%) to best, very good, good, slightly bad and bad groups respectively. The self-rated health score was associated with total Component (r=.563, p<.001), Physical Component (r=.520, p<.001) and Mental Component of SF-12 (r=.303, p<.001). The optimal cut off was 80.5, 70.5, 53.5, and 40.5 for best, very good or more, good or more, and under slightly bad respectively and area under curve was 0.898, 0.908, 0.945, and 0.908 accordingly. Conclusions : This study suggests that the self-rated health score and grade could be integrated with the optimal cut off.

Objectives : This study aimed to identify factors of adolescents’ cell-phone dependency using Agnew’s General Strain Theory (GST) and the perspective of adolescents’ micro-systems. A second aim was to verify the moderating effect of self-esteem. Methods : In total, 2,046 students who participated in a study on KCTPS mid. 1 panel 3 Wave by the National Youth Policy Institute were examined in this research. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability tests, and hierarchical linear regression using SPSS Ver. 22.0. Results : The strain factors had a positive effect on adolescents’ depression, and depression had a positive effect on cell-phone dependency. In addition, self-esteem had a negative moderating effect between depression and cell-phone dependency. Conclusions : Factors of cell-phone dependency were identified. The findings of the study indicate that an intervention is required to lower strain and depression and to enhance self-esteem among adolescents.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify the main variables of difference in high school students' oral health promotion behaviors among adolescents and to improve their academic and oral health promotion behaviors. Methods : The research subjects consisted of 311 high school students in Jeonju. Results : The adequacy of the hypothetical model accounted for 46.9 % of the oral health promotion behavior. The Redundancy of all variables showed the value of the positive values, indicating that the Goodness of fit was greater than the optimum value of the model, and the model of the PLS was a desirable model. The effects of perceived benefits, self efficacy, and social support on oral health promotion behaviors were found to be higher in oral health promotion behaviors. Conclusions : This study is expected to have a significant impact on the perception of the oral health promotion for adolescents in the future and will contribute to the expansion and generalization of Pender's oral health promotion model.
