Objectives: This study analyzed the satisfaction perceived by users of medical institutions and the factors that affect satisfaction with medical services. This study will contribute to improving medical services and increasing the competitiveness of medical institution. Methods: This study investigated differences in satisfaction according to user characteristics of each medical institution using data from the National Statistical Office microdata "2020 Medical Service Experience Survey.” It also compared and analyzed the differences in satisfaction with outpatient medical services among medical institutions. Results: Each medical service showed various satisfaction levels based on the user characteristics, and unique results were obtained from each medical institution. In particular, the reasons for choosing a medical institution were the hospital's response for effective treatment, high recognition of the hospital, and clinic accessibility. Factors affecting satisfaction with outpatient treatment by medical institutions included the services of the doctor and nurses in charge, treatment hours, and the services used by medical institutions. Conclusions: To improve satisfaction with medical services, efforts are required to continuously communicate with customers to respect and listen to their opinions. Communication is the key to providing quality medical services.

Objectives: To systematically review the job analysis of coordinators in Korean medical institutions. Methods: Related articles published in Korean were collected from a search term database. Results: The review included 13 articles and nine medical coordinators. New coordinators are constantly emerging at medical institutions. Although coordinators have similar titles, their qualification criteria and roles differ. Some coordinators perform medical practice, and others do not. Most job analyses of the coordinators were conducted to reduce confusion by clarifying their duties. Conclusions: When similar titles exist within the same medical institution, there is potential for job confusion and compromised patient safety. It is imperative to establish clear distinctions between the titles of the medical and non-medical coordinators.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between health-risk behaviors and health-related quality of life in older adults by examining the ceiling effect that often occurs when measuring health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in the general population. Methods: Using data from the Korea Health Panel Survey from 2015 to 2018, 3220 individuals were selected. We constructed a two-part autoregressive cross-lagged model with a log-transformed EQ-5D (EuroQol-5 Dimension) index. Results: Older adults who reported full-health state were more likely to maintain their health state over time. Older adults with two types of health-risk behaviors, both in full and non-full health states, were more likely to maintain or increase their health-risk behaviors in the following years. Those with three or more health-risk behaviors tended to rate their HRQoL higher in the following years. Conclusions: A significant reciprocal relationship exists between health-risk behaviors and health-related quality of life in older adults

Objectives: To investigate the effects of adults’ demographic characteristics and mental health on subjective self-rated oral health, a study was conducted using the data of those who participated in the 8th KNHANES. Additionally, this study was conducted to provide basic data that can be used to develop an intervention program for maintaining and promoting oral health. Methods: To investigate the relationship between demographic characteristics, mental health, and subjective self-rated oral health, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were conducted and analyzed. Results: Regarding the effect of mental health on subjective self-rated oral health, higher levels of stress and generalized anxiety disorder had a negative effect on subjective self-rated oral health, and statistical significance was verified. Conclusions: To maintain and promote oral health by researching various factors related to Korean adults' oral and mental health, a feasible self-rated oral health project should be operated by establishing an institutional oral health policy.

Objectives: This study aimed to assess the factors associated with concerns about economic damage due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The total number of subjects was 205,589, as drawn from the 2021 Community Health Survey. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors associated with concerns about economic damage due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: The finding indicates that concerns about economic damage due to the COVID-19 pandemic are high in the order of pink-collar job, blue-collar job, no occupation, and white-collar job. Sex, age, marital status, education level, residential area, family member, household income, smoking status, and unmet healthcare service were significant. Conclusions: The research results suggest that different administrative policies such as job support and psychological support should be applied because concerns about economic damage differs depending on job type.

Objectives: This study aims to determine the interaction between health behavior and working condition changes in individuals with depression. Methods: We analyzed the data of 222,774 persons from the 2021 Community Health Survey. We conducted a logistic regression analysis to the examine interaction effect between health behaviors and changes in working conditions in individuals with depression. Results: Increased and decreased physical activity, increased and decreased consumption of instant food and carbonated beverages, increased alcohol consumption and smoking, and negative changes in working conditions were found to be associated with depression. In addition, The changes in the consumption of instant food and carbonated beverages, negative changes in working conditions and depression had positive interactions. Conclusions: Changes in health behaviors and working conditions were associated with depression.

Objectives: This study investigated the effects of nunchi and grit on college adjustment among nursing students. Methods: The sample comprised of 233 nursing students from four nursing departments. Data were collected through self-directed questionnaires and analyzed using t-tests, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: A positive correlation was observed between college adjustment and grit (r=.690, p<.001), and nunchi (r=.515, p<.001). College adjustment showed differences based on grade, decision maker, motivation for selecting a nursing major, residence type, practical experience, and satisfaction with a major. The significant factors of grit and satisfaction with a major explained 57.0% of the variance in college adjustment. Conclusions: This study suggests that it is imperative to develop programs that include positive factors, such as grit and satisfaction with a major, for nursing students' college adjustment.

Objectives: This study assessed the relationship between patient safety attitude, communication skills, nursing professionalism, and patient safety management activities. Further, it sought to identify factors affecting patient safety management activities. Methods: The study involved 174 nursing students. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from April 10 to May 1, 2023. Results: Patient safety management activity was positively correlated with patient safety attitude (r=.386, p<.001), communication skills (r=.358, p<.001), and nursing professionalism (r=.430, p<.001). Nursing professionalism (β=.271, p=.001) and patient safety attitude(β=.238, p=.001) affected patient safety management activity. These factors explained 24.9% of the variance in clinical competency. Conclusions: Cultivating nursing professionalism and fostering a positive patient safety attitude is vital for enhancing nursing students’ patient safety management activities. This can be achieved through systematic education using policy strategies involving diverse patient safety cases.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify trends in core fundamental nursing skills. Methods: Twenty studies on nursing education reported in domestic journals were reviewed. The Riss4U, Scienceon, E-article and KISS databases were searched using the analysis criteria developed by the researchers. Results: The peer teaching method was applied most frequently in the class. The intervention period ranged from a minimum of 5days to a maximum of 70 days and the frequency was at least once a week and a maximum of once a day. Performance confidence was the most commonly used outcome variable. The duration ranged from a minimum of 12minutes to a maximum of 6 hours. Conclusions: Fundamental core nursing skills applied various tutoring methods for nursing students. However, it is difficult to generalize the results because of a lack of literature. The results of this study suggest that; it is necessary to develop a core nursing skills program for nursing students.
