The discovery of mirror neurons has been recognized as one of the ma-jor developments in neuroscience, with possible implications for the explanation of many important cognitive functions, including action and perception understanding, imitation, and empathy. In the mirror neuron system, action observation, imitation, and empathy are represented in the same basic motor circuit as action execution. The present paper presents basic neurophysiological findings about mirror neuron system and discusses the effects of perceptual and motor resonance on other people’s actions. Finally, this paper examines strategies informed by mirror neuron research in an empathy-fostering program for autism and in a motor rehabilitation program for stroke patients.

Internet addiction after launching smartphone is becoming serious. Therefore this paper has attempted to sketch out the diverse addiction treatment and then check the feasibility of exercise rehabilitation. The reason to addict the internet or smartphone is personalized individual characters related personal psychological and emotional factors and social environmental factors around them. We have shown that 2 dis-cernible approaches due to 2 different addiction causes: that is behav-ioral treatment and complementary treatment. In the behavioral treat-ment, cognitive behavioral approach (CBT) is representative methods for changing additive thoughts and behaviors. Motivational interviewing (MI) is also the brief approach for persons not ready to change their be-havior. Mindfulness behavioral cognitive treatment (MBCT) also the adapted treatment based on CBT. There are different types following the emphatic point, mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP) or mindfulness oriented recovery enhancement (MORE). It is apparent that therapeutic recreation, music therapy using drumming activity, and art therapy are useful complementary treatment. Exercise rehabilitation contained the systematic procedures and comprehensive activities compared to previous addiction treatments by contents and techniques. Exercise rehabilitation can treat both physical symptoms at first and mental problems in the next step. So more evidence-based exercise re-habilitation researches need to do, but it is highly probable that exercise rehab can apply for smartphone addiction.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a major cause of death and disability in the elderly. In the present study, we examined the age-dependence of the effect of treadmill exercise on the intrastriatal hemorrhage-in-duced neuronal cell death in rats. Young (8 weeks old) and old (64 weeks old) Sprague-Dawley male rats were used in the present study. Intras-triatal hemorrhage was induced by injection of 0.2 U collagenase (1 μL volume) into the striatum using a stereotaxic instrument. The rats in the exercise groups were forced to run on a treadmill for 30 min daily for 7 days. Lesion size was determined by Nissl staining. Apoptosis was as-sessed by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay. In the present results, induction of hemorrhage increased lesion size and enhanced apoptosis. Treadmill exercise decreased the lesion size with suppressing apoptosis. Howev-er, the size of lesion induced by hemorrhage and the number of apop-totic cells were not different between young and old rats. Treadmill ex-ercise significantly reduced the ICH-induced lesion size and the number of apoptotic cells irrespective of age. The data suggest that treadmill exercise may provide therapeutic value against ICH by suppressing neu-ronal apoptosis regardless of age.

High temperature environment causes detrimental effects on health. In the present study, the effects of intake of several kinds of beverage on blood components during exercise under the high temperature environ-ment were evaluated. The 10 subjects were student of the H University. Exercise intensity was 50-60% O2maxx and treadmill exercise was contin-ued for 1 h. The kinds of beverage were water, ion beverage, cucumber drink. Blood sampling was performed before the exercise, immediately finishing exercise, and 30 min after rest. In the present results, glucose concentration was increased by intake of water, ion beverage, and cu-cumber drink immediately after exercise. In the water intake group, glu-cose concentration was decrease 30 min after rest. Free fatty acid con-centration was increased by intake of water, ion beverage, and cucum-ber drink 60 min after exercise. In the ion beverage and cucumber drink intake groups, free fatty acid concentration was decreased 30 min after rest. Insulin concentration was increased by intake of water, ion bever-age, and cucumber drink 60 min after exercise. In the water intake group, insulin concentration was decrease 30 min after rest. There was no dif-ference in the efficacy among water, ion beverage, and cucumber drink, but ion beverage and cucumber drink showed more potent effect on metabolic parameters.

The purpose of this study is to identify what kind of effects complex ex-ercise rehabilitation program has on body composition of female, blood pressure, blood sugar, blood vessel elasticity and find more effective complex exercise program for elderly females. The subjects are select-ed 30 females applicants in exercise program in City of G and not re-stricted in mobility to perform the exercise without any particular disor-ders. Exercise program is a combination of aerobic and strength train-ing with different ratio, for the first 6 months focused on strength train-ing complex exercise, and for next 6 months focused on aerobic exer-cise. Except for strength training and aerobic exercise, durations for strength, rest, and wrapping-up are equal. The frequency of experi-ments is 90 min each, 2 times per a week. Body composition, blood pressure, and blood vessel elasticity are tested pre and post experiment to compare the effectiveness of both complex exercises. As results, in the complex exercise program focused on strength training, weight, per-cent body fat, fat mass, waist hip ratio, systolic blood pressure, and dia-stolic pressure increased. Blood vessel elasticity maintained its level or slightly decreased. In the complex exercise focused on aerobic exer-cise, weight, percent body fat, fat mass, waist hip ratio, systolic pres-sure, and diastolic pressure decreased. Blood vessel elasticity on left foot and right foot are slightly different. Therefore, aerobic exercise is more effective than strength training for old obese females.

The purpose of this study was to examine differences in participation motivation and competition anxiety between Korean and non-Korean wheelchair tennis players and to identify relations between participa-tion motivation and competition anxiety in each group. Sixty-six wheel-chair tennis players who participated in the 2013 Korea Open Wheel-chair Tennis Tournament in Seoul completed the Participation Motiva-tion Survey and the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory II. Data were analyzed by a frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson’s cor-relation analysis, and independent samples t-test to identify partici-pants’ demographic characteristics, differences in participation motiva-tion, competition anxiety between Korean and non-Korean players, and correlations between participation motivation and competition anxiety in each group. Korean players reported significantly higher motivation in purification compared to non-Korean players, whereas non-Korean players reported significantly higher motivation in enjoyment. In addition, non-Korean players demonstrated higher cognitive anxiety and self-con-fidence compared to Korean players. Moreover, the physical anxiety of Korean players was negatively correlated with learning, health-fitness, and enjoyment motivation. On the other hand, only self-confidence was significantly related to learning motivation and enjoyment motivation in non-Korean players. Thus, the results presented herein provide evi-dence for the development of specialized counseling programs that consider the psychological characteristics of Korean wheelchair tennis players.

Recent studies showed association between diseases and TLR6 poly-morphisms. To investigate whether TLR6 polymorphisms are associated with the development of ischemic stroke, four single nucleotide poly-morphisms (SNPs) of the TLR6 gene (rs1039559, rs3821985, rs3775073, and rs5743818) were analyzed in 120 patients with ischemic stroke (IS) and 278 control subjects. All ischemic stroke patients were classified into clinical subgroups according to NHISS and MBI. SNPStats was used to obtain odds ratios (ORs), 95% confidence intervals (CIs), and P values. Multiple logistic regression models (codominant1, codominant2, dominant, recessive, and log-additive) were performed to analyze the genetic data. Two SNPs (rs3821985 and rs3775073) of the TLR6 gene were associated with the NHISS in ischemic stroke patients (P<0.05). Also, three SNPs (rs1039559, rs3821985, and rs3775073) showed associ-ation with MBI in ischemic stroke patients (P<0.05). These results sug-gest that SNPs of TLR6 (rs1039559, rs3821985, and rs3775073) may be af-fect the disease characteristics of stroke, such as NIHSS and MBI.

This study was conducted in order to determine the relationship among fear-avoidance beliefs, pain and disability index in patients with low back pain as well as to identify factors having an influence on fear-avoid-ance beliefs, pain and disability index. The subjects used in this study were 55 patients with low back pain. All subjects completed a fear-avoid-ance beliefs questionnaire (FABQ) which was divided into two subscales, FABQ for physical activity (FABQ-P) and FABQ for work (FABQ-W), Vi-sual Analog Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Roland- Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ). In correlation analysis, FABQ-P appeared to show significant correlation with FABQ-W, FABQ-total, VAS and RMDQ, and all variables showed significant correlation with each other. Findings of this study suggest that screening for fear-avoidance beliefs may be useful for identification of patients at risk of psychosocial problems as well as pain intensity and physical impairment.
