Reflective Thinking about Curriculum and Textbooks- with Korean language as the center - Cho Dong-keel This article aims at a reflective thinking about the surface meaning of textbook system and the hidden problem, and tries to find a solution for improvement. Textbooks and curriculum are strategies for legitimization and a logical basis for educational practice. Only one Korean language textbook had been permitted since the first government, this single textbook policy generated several problems. For the first, the textbook used to control the education by governmental power. Next, a uniform and totalitarian education was performed regardless variables in practice. And the last, the harmful effect of monopoly had been risen by an absolute authority of the position of the textbook. To solve these problems, the Korean language textbook switched to the certification system at 2007. In spite of some positive changes, there are still supplements to improve Korean education: First, an intervention by state power should be excluded or at least minimized. Second, the management of Korean education should be autonomous. Third, it is required the way for professionalism and reinforcement of Korean teachers. Fourth, the liberalization of the textbook should be expanded. Fifth, the free publication system of the textbooks is the final goal.

critical analysis of an appraisal standard of Government-authorized Korean language arts textbook Choi In-ja The aim of this study is to investigate the problems of appraisal standard of Government-authorized Korean language arts textbook which used to adopt the textbook as a government-authorized textbook of the 2007 revised korean national curriculum and explore the alternative norms. For this aim, I analyzed the 'Kukeo(Korean language) in middle school with general criteria asked for the good text book, as follows : ① problems of reflection of national curriculum ② organization of learning experience ③ acception of social-cultural demand ④ propriety on the theory of korean language education. As a result of this analysis, I discoverer a few problems. First, the description of the appraisal standard is so abstract that is possible to various interpretation, such as flexibility, creativity, propriety. Second, there is few standard with value criteria, so the appraisal standard could not perform functions to guide to the good Korean language arts. I verify this problem in the 'Kukeo(Korean language) that is passed by this standard. As a result, the appearance of the reflection of national curriculum is very various according to explicit or allusive reflection, concrete or abstract, partly or general, mechanical or organic. The appearance of organize learning experience is also various such as, formal voice or experiential voice, active responsibility or passive responsibility. As a concluding remarks, I suggest that the appraisal standard is described concretely and should to be added value category.

A study on the look of containing classical textsin the highschool Korean textbooks Heu Wang-wook This article aims to check a look of containing classical texts in the Korean textbooks which are developed according to 2007 national curriculum, and passed through the text screening process. In this study, I tried to clarify problems of teaching materials and main works selected in the Korean textbooks, and suggest desirable mode of textbook. Through this research process, I read sixteen Korean textbooks, with quantitative and qualitative evaluation. In the quantitative evaluation, I saw proportion and emerging frequency of classical texts in the textbooks. And in the qualitative evaluation, I examined whether or not classical texts meet ‘system of teaching contents’ and ‘achieving standard in the textbooks’. I also considered a ‘writing criterion’, ‘examples of elements of teaching contents’, and ‘level & range of works’ etc. I drew a conclusion like these. 1) A proportion and emerging frequency of classical texts got lower as compared with the textbooks of last curriculum. 2)A phenomenon of concentrating to special works is maintained concretely. 3) Textbooks didn’t exhibit meaningful learning activities variously with regard to classical texts. To solve these problems, textbook writers will not follow preceding textbooks, but seek meaningful teaching materials and classical texts with new standpoint. Furthermore, they should conduct a reconstructing canon to elevate students’ abilities as not only a good appreciator but also a expressive creator through learning classical texts.

A study on the sections and systems of drama education at ‘Korean’ textbooks in ‘2007 revised curriculum’ Kim Nam-seok The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current status and problems of drama education for high school leaners. And the purpose of this paper is to review the section and system of new ‘Korean’ textbooks in ‘2007 revised curriculum’. I have analyzed all accomplishment standards of drama education in 16 kinds of textbooks that had obtained authorization. Among 16 kinds of new ‘korean’ textbooks for high school leaners, 13 kinds of ‘Korean’ textbooks have the section of mask dance for drama education. In particular I have studied the accomplishment standards about drama education in Bongsan mask dance as the scripts and as Korean traditional performing art. As a result, most editors of the textbooks confuse drama(as mask dance) education with the literature language education. This confusion impede the progress of normal drama education for high school leaners.

Married Immigrant Women in Multi-cultural Novels - With a Focus on Gong Sun-ok’s 「Garibong Yeon-ga」 - Song Myung-hee Since 2000s, the feminization of immigration has become more highlighted. For example, Asian females were incorporated into the lowest stratum of Korean society through working immigration, international marriages, illegal residence, and so on. Multi-cultural novels that deal with these social issues complain maladjusted reality that is hardly easy for immigrants who strive hard to adjust to Korean society. A book of novels of Gong Sun-ok that includes 「Garibong Yeon-ga」, Yoorang-gajok(2005), consists of a series of five novels published serially from the spring of 2002 until that of 2003 in Silcheonmunhak published quarterly. This article looks into the life of international married female immigrants, focusing on 「Garibong Yeon-ga」. The international marriage of Jang Myung-hwa from ethnic Koreans living in China was the economical reason for making money. Though Myung-hwa moves into Korean farming villages for a marriage with a dream of emerging from poverty, she’s not able to adapt to poverty. It was women’s oppression and poverty of patriarchy that made her maladjust to her marriage. After running away from home, Myung-hwa worked as a guide of a karaoke in Garibong-dong, and finally she was stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant for money on the street. 「Garibong Yeon-ga」 shows a failure story of supernational immigration for emerging from poverty by Jang Myung-hwa’s death. married immigrant women are undergoing multiple discrimination such as nationality, human race, gender, etc. However, the main conflict, above all things, is a problem of human rights and economy. As their purpose of immigration itself was an economical motive like escape from poverty of her homeland, the expansion of the welfare system for a low-income group of our society, including immigrants, is the first subject to solve for our society at present. Moreover, new values based on multi-culturalism, which accepts Diaspora foreigners as our true neighbors, are required for us in multi-cultural society, getting over discrimination.

A Study on the Female Body in Park Kyung-ri’s The Land- With a focus resistance against biological determinism - Lee Mi-hwa Telling stories in the backdrop of Joseon society dominated by the traditional male-centric patriarchical mentality, Park Kyung-ri’s The Land needs analysis of the female body to understand the oppressive situations facing the female characters. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the body of a female character made resistance in the novel. The findings would offer a detailed picture of the female characters’ determination of resistance against oppressive situations and promote a closer understanding of the female characters. In particular, the study focused on Guinyeo and Imine to discuss the resisting female body against biological determinism. Their resistance was to positively distribute the dichotomous male-oriented sex that had already been instilled since Guinyeo and Imine showed “nature=the body=indeterministic.”

The Colonialism and Decolonialism of the State Imagination in the Latest Japanese Imperialism Park Soo-yeon The purpose of this paper is a consideration of discrimination and commonness of what literary-men imagine the nation-state at the latest Japanese imperialism. On the base of this survey, we discuss the possibility of public ethics in the time of postmodern that social-subject gradually is individualized and engaged in de-politics. For the purpose of this study, we concentrate on the Im Wha(林和) and Kim Ki Rim(金起林). Im Wha is a internationalist and Kim Ki Rim is a cosmopolitanist. Then, Im Wha turn to the argumentation of a completion of modern novel and civil theme when the Japanese Imperialism start to a common study of Korean and Japanese. This mean to be a fact that modern and national theme was raised more than transition to ex-capitalism. When they obtain their’s consent about construction of nation state and national literature, so we have to speak that there is a opreation of the sudden time to change at 1930. for the conceptualization of this condition, we will use a general idea ‘civilité’. So that historical subject of action can be converted from a class to a civil. On the base of this discussion, we can argue about a point of view to a state of our time.

Research on Storytelling Strategy according to Genre Form Choi Kyeong-seong It was found that the strategy about storytelling shows a big difference according to genre forms such as films, drama, creative musical, and folk tale, etc. The movie 「King's Man」 suggests that it shows not only the major characteristic of storytelling through space strategy and composition strategy among storytelling strategy study but this movie shows the important characteristic of storytelling even in character strategy. The movie 「King’s Man」 is showing not only the characterisitc of storytelling through space strategy and compsition strategy but it also suggests that even the character strategy can show a major characteristic of storytelling. The TV drama 「My name is Kim, Samsoon」 is showing the important characteristic of storytelling through composition strategy and character strategy among the strategies of storytelling. The TV drama 「My name is Kim, Samsoon」 is the work showing not only the characterisitc of storytelling through composition strategy and character strategy but it also shows the characteristic of storytelling through space strategy. A small theater creative musical 「Oh ! while you're sleeping」 suggests that the character strategy among the strategy study of storytelling is showing the important characteristic of storytelling. A small theater creative musical 「Oh, while you're sleeping」 is showing the characteristic of storytelling not only in the character strategy but also in such composition strategy as universality of composition. The folk tale 「King Kimsuro Myth」 is showing the major characteristic of storytelling even in the composition strategy among the strategy study of storytelling. In addition, this folk tale is the work whose characteristics about the strategy study of storytelling appear comparatively lower than the works of a different genre. This research aims at looking at the influence of the composition strategy consequent on the character strategy of storytelling on space strategy, and for this purpose, this research analyzed the four works according to genres. This research, targeting the narrative works which once drew attention of the domestic cultural industry market, and based on the conceptual model quoting the mechanism of a storytelling this researcher set, tries to define its related change factors by tracing them, and focuses on the empirical analysis about what meaning and association the analysis based on conceptual model comes to have in relation to the qualitative deepening of a work.

The Principle of ecology in 「NARAESOM」, a play by O Tae Suk Park Kyoung-seon In 「NARAESOM」, the importance of ecological consciousness is brought a thing into relief with showing the negative effect that is caused by destroy of ecosystem network. It is showing anti-ecological phenomenon in the death of Ki-Young caused by the bomb of Mt. Hwang-Gum and the conflicts of people of village centering on a village headman and a ship owner. The main character who solves this anti-economical phenomenon is Jae-il, a middle-grade executive in the construction site of Mt. Hwang-Gum. He felt keenly the death of Ki-Young and tried to solve the conflicts of people of the village. Jae-il decided to move the Joung-Mok’s grave to his family gravesite. This truth of moving grave was the cause of conflict between the village headman and the ship owner, and they had solution of conflict moving the grave. Also people of village forgave Jin-Gaek’s father who made Ki-Young dead and received him warmly. And they decided to build an embankment which had not been built and sitting since 100 years ago. In the process, the community awareness is realized. But, the act of building embankment shows how self-centered a human being is. This is the critical point in 「NARAESOM」 in terms of ecological principle.

Study on Yu Chijin’s play consider an audience’s in late 1930’s- Concentrating on 「Cow」, 「Prince Maeui」, 「Sister-1」 - Cho Jung-hee This paper presents a facts that Yu chi-jin’s play consider an audience’s main concern first in late 1930’s. The studies varies from the earlier versions which emphasize his realism. Yu chi-jin’s play appears commonly a tendency to the general public play of research society of the dramatic art in the early 1930’s and a tendency to the realistic national play in 1940’s. Yu chi-jin’s play, Prince Maeui, Cow, Sisters-1, have a result is at the base of the audience’s main concern. The results are a change of material no rural problem, a choice of melodramatic elements and an expression of internal emotion. Even then, a tendency to the realistic national play in 1940’s, he is a player with a strong sense of vocation which emphasize the expression of audience’s main concern. Yu chi-jin considered that the point of plays is Audience.

Some suggestions on the study of Si-Ga literature Kim Seong-su Si-Ga literature is actually the literature of songs as the name implies, so it is natural for serious researches to focus on its musical features. However, the Korean Si-Ga has traditionally concentrated rather on it’s the words of a song’s contents and forms. Even though some claim that re-consideration on the traditional trend is needed, the situation seems not optimistic since the claims made on the issue hasn’t got much intention in the academic circle yet, and also they are not clear enough to be persuasive. If the researches on Si-Ga literature only focus on Si-Ga itself, they would not go beyond the own boundary of Si-Ga. When we pursue the essential factors of Si-Ga such as music and song, we could make a turning point for a new start by remedying the shortcomings of previous researches. A key point to remember in doing researches on Si-Ga literature is that if we try to keep only our own viewpoint, we would lose many aspects of Si-Ga literature. We need to get rid of the bias of ideology originated from our linguistic and cultural characteristics and to pursue objective academic truth. The perspective on Si-Ga literature would be widen when we take the viewpoint of comparative literature. When we study Si-Ga focusing on its musical features and taking the viewpoint of comparative literature, we could find a breakthrough different from the perspective of previous researches and would get great academic achievements. I discussed the research perspective and expected results while examining actual cases in several genres.

A study of the teaching methodology of the role-play through the body- Focused on the philosophy on the body - Choi Jin-ho As the role-play is an activity acting out by restructuring actually a variety of linguistic situations in the world into an educational area, and learners constantly focus on interacting actions in order to reach a given goal, it is a teaching-learning method being used widely in not only a subject handling speech function like a native language but also other subjects acquiring technologies on social interaction. The study tried to reveal the meaning on the body inherent in the role-play for its class with liveliness and vigor, and then developed arguments by virtue of viewpoint of the philosophy on the body. In the viewpoint of the philosophy on the body, the body inherent in the role-play was the living thing that has a sense in the world rather than that of being controlled subordinately by rational thoughts. The body inherent in the role-play was that of nonverbal expression, it was involved in understanding and expressing the text in the contextual viewpoint of the situation, it lies at the root of thoughts, and it was the body of the sympathy experiencing and understanding other people. The liveliness and dynamics of the role-play begins right in this body. At the time of leading the role-play, instead of controlling in a language that is a means of reason, only when we understand in the contextual viewpoint of the situation, and show metaphorical extemporaneousness from lives, and are really reborn into other person, the role-play will display vitality. The above study will be meaningful in having provided a clue that can have teachers coaching the role-play access it to the viewpoint of the body. It is meaningful in that the role-play is not a formal emission by simple memorization, but gains its body experience of the situation. So, the lines in the role-play are a reaction of the contextual body of the situation aroused from the field. Strictly speaking, the role-play is not to express the lines, but to communicate by understanding the other party with disclosing the situation that I have faced in any context. The situation is expressed with the whole body, and comes to understand with the whole body.

The comparison of unit structure in the nativelanguage textbook of Korea, China, Japan- focus on the 1st of middle school - Wang Xiao-cheng Textbook is a particular educational criteria and materials that facilitate implement curriculum systematically in the background of real classroom situation. The importance of a native language textbook is not only in its language educational dimension, but also for its containing value and meaning. Among lots of countries, Korea, China and Japan, all of which belong to Chinese character culture area, are similar in geography, history and culture, and under the school system, there are all 6 years of elementary school, 3 years each for middle school and high school. This study aims to distinguish common factors and different factors in unit structure of the native language textbook in Korea, China, and Japan through comparing these three countries’s language arts textbooks used in 1st grade of middle school. Application and Evaluation of Korean Extensive Reading Program Woo Hyeong-shik․Kim Yun-mi Extensive reading allows learners to build confidence with extended texts. In Korean language program, it is required to introduce extensive reading that could lead to speedy reading. By selecting the materials the learners prefer, extensive reading can motivate them to read pleasantly and participate in reading activity spontaneously. Also the effect of extensive reading is that it could enhance learners’ general language competence. The objective of this research is for evaluation extensive reading program both in class and after class. It could provide possibility of using extensive reading in Korean language class. This research and practice in Korean language learning with extensive reading might include: First, There was significant improvement for learners to have quantitative growth in Korean language ability after the extensive reading activity. Second, extensive reading program would make learners have great interest and confidence in reading and encourage them to take part in reading activity on their own initiative. Therefore the result of this research will be a proof to use extensive reading program in Korean language course. And it will lead to the positive improvement in reading skill eventually.

The present status of Korean language education in Mongolia and proposal of enhancement Kim Myeong-gon The purpose of this study is for analysis of overall present status of Korean language education in Mongolia and Mongolian students studying abroad in Korea, then to understand the main object of Korean language learning of Mongolian students. Based on this, I will propose the growth direction of Korean language in Mongolia. First of all, I will check the present situation of EPS-TOPIK and analyze the problem, then suggest solution. That is the first purpose. Secondly, I will analyze the present status of Korean language education according to educational levels each and suggest educational methods which suit its purpose and curriculum each. Finally, I analyze the present status of Mongolian students studying abroad in Korea and give the solutions which can access the present situation in Mongolia.

Квалификационный экзамен по корейскому языку(TOPIK) в Республике Узбекистане Обзор (состояния и особенности) АН Ё КЁН Почти ежедневно мы узнаем новости о волнах популярности Кореи «халлю(한류)» по всему миру. И Узбекистан, где проживает большое количество наших соотечественников, тому не исключение. Подобная национальная особенность связывает Узбекистан с Кореей неразрывными узами. Об этом свидетельствует и тот исторический факт, что после насильственной депортации в 1937 году в Узбекистане была основана первая школа корейского языка и положено начало изучению корейского языка как родного. На этой основе стал активно развиваться процесс обучения корейскому языку и на сегодняшний день достиг уровня, позволяющего проводить обсуждения о состоянии и развитии Квалификационного экзамена по корейскому языку в Республике Узбекистан. Система обучения корейскому языку в качестве иностранного не перестает систематизироватся и развиваться. В соотсветсвии с этим повышается интерес и к теме нашей работы – Квалификационному экзамену по корейскому языку (TOPIK). В данной работе мы проследим историю Квалификационного экзамена по корейскому языку(TOPIK) с начала его введения в 1997 году до нынешнего 2011 года и попытаемся дать анализ настоящего состояния Квалификационного экзамена по корейскому языку(TOPIK) в Республике Узбекистан и проведем серьезное обсуждение данного вопроса.

A study on the analysis of items in TOPIK- On the focus of items in the intermediate level - Lee Sang-rin This study is aims at grasping suggestive aspects of teaching-learning methodology of Korean language for foreigners and assisting in developing the quality of TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) through the analytical result of the items in TOPIK. The subjects of this analysis are limited to 100 objective items in intermediate level of the 21th TOPIK. This study analyzes the items filled in papers of the numbers of 2384 with the method of classical test theory using TestAn 1.0 program. item difficulty are easy largely in the 21th TOPIK and item discrimination level of them are valid. But there are the items which is noticeable. This study attains the result as below through analysis of item. The first, there are some items which are inordinately easy. Therefore, the items are appropriate for falling under the category of the beginners’ level. The second, There are, the other hand, some items which are inordinately item difficulty or invalid in item discrimination level. Therefore, the items are appropriate for falling under the category of the highest level. 关于发音教材构成体系的研究- 以中国普通大学发音教材为中心 - 孙福姬 1992年中韩两国建交以来,中国国内的韩国语教育得到飞跃发展,韩国语发音教育也受到普遍重视。但是关于韩国语发音的研究现状,远不能与语法、词汇等其他领域的研究相提并论,可以说发音教育还没有形成有组织、有系统的研究,尤其是发音教育三大要素之一的发音教材的研究,不仅研究数量有限,更缺乏深层次的研究,而且国内还没有正式出版专门的发音教材。本文以中国普通大学使用的四部韩国语教材为对象,全面分析了教材中发音部分的整体构成和单元构成体系,发音教材的构成是否正确和合理,要看教材构成是否按阶段性、系统性的排列,优秀的教材应该是构成明确,伦理性强,可提供丰富多样的活动题材。笔者通过对四部教材的系统研究,阐述了每部教材的构成特点和长短处,并为今后发音教材的开发研究和编写工作提出了合理的建议。
