This study explored the issues in the [Literature] textbook in accordance with 2011-revised Korean language curriculum from the viewpoint of pursuing communication by teaching classic novel. For this, the status of classic novels in the [Literature] textbook published in 2014 is given first. Next, the issues faced by the [Literature] textbook are explored by focusing on ‘content system and standards of achievement’ and ‘learning activity’. First, there are 32 appearances of 15 classic novels (2 to 5 appearances each) in 11 kinds of high school Literature textbooks, which were newly published in 2014 in accordance with the 2011-revised curriculum. Since there were 54 appearances of 25 classic novels in the textbooks in accordance with the 2009-revised curriculum, it is substantial decrease. The result of exploration based on standards of achievement suggested that there were deviations by area. In other words, the areas of ‘accommodation and production of literature’ and ‘the scope and history of Korean literature’ leaned toward knowledge education; while the area of ‘literature and life’ focused on communication and experience. Therefore, balanced allocation of classic novels by area is required in the classic novel teaching for communication. Since there were multiple cases of incorrect learning activity which were made without considering standards of achievement, good preparation of learning activities based on detail understanding on standards of achievement is also necessary.

This paper studied the new lexical field including ‘갗’ and ‘겇’. ‘겁질’ is the old saying of ‘껍질’ and it is related the present Korean ‘껍질, 깝질, 껍데기’. Then ‘꺼풀/까풀’ and ‘껍질/깝질’ are confirmed by the similarity of meaning. ‘까풀/꺼풀’, ‘깝질/껍질’ and ‘갗/겇’ are formed by the replacement of ‘ㅏ~ㅓ’. This meaning homogeneity is shown by chinese character ‘皮’. ‘갗’ and ‘겇’ have the same meanings in chinese character ‘皮’ but different in actual use. ‘갗’ and ‘겇’ are divided into depending on wheather they are human and inhuman noun. ‘갗’ and ‘겇’ are realized as ‘가죽’ and ‘겁질’. Because ‘겁/겇’ have the same chinese character, ‘겁’ is formed from ‘겇’. As well, ‘겁’ of ‘겁질’ is too formed from ‘겇’. ‘겁질’ is used for tree and fruit, but on 「孫龐演義」, it is used fish. In the present Korean ‘가죽’ is the origin of the middle Korean ‘갗’, in the present Korean ‘껍질’ is the origin of the middle Korean ‘겇’. The formal perception of ‘겇>겁’ comed from the 15th century, suggesting ‘겁질’ was formed in the 15th century. On the materials of 15th century, ‘거플’ and ‘가/가플’ are checked. In this case, ‘가/가플’ are appeared meaning transition. (Kongju National University)

A Review on a Direction of Integrating Grammar andReading-focused on the Analysis of Textbooks on “Reading & Grammar” in 2011Revised national Korean Language curriculum-Lee, Sang-gyuThe purpose of the paper is to provide a direction of integratinggrammar and reading based on analyzing ‘Korean Reading & Grammar“textbook in 2011 revised national Korean language curriculum. Just likein 2007 Korean language curriculum , it was classified as an electivecourse in 2011. One of similarities between ’reading’ and ‘grammar’ isthat they are language-related. However, in combining them, the selectionrate of students was the more important factor than the similarity of alanguage. Six Korean Reading & Grammar textbooks were passed afterdeliberation in 2011. Analysis showed that they can be divided into threetypes. Three of them can be sorted into the first type, well reflecting thefundamental contents on the basis of 2011 revised curriculum. One ofthem places more emphasis on reading, including grammar as aneducational subcomponent. The other two present grammar beforereading, depending on sequential learning of the two elements. The mostundesirable type is the reading-centered type covering grammar. In106․한어문교육 제30집contrast, the clearest and best example of integrating reading and grammaris the last type that allows students to work reading activities afterlearning grammar. A new direction of an education in grammar is to integrate contentelements in reading in terms of novelty seeking and practicality. On thatbasis, grammar and reading should be integrated sequentially ; Grammar& Reading. Specific educational systems need to line up in crossingparallel, which acknowledges the academic characteristics of each otherand pursues a balanced approach.

Both teachers and learners feel the need for change in the currentpoem education. However, it is difficult to escape from guide and referencebooks intensive instruction, as a matter of time and evaluation. This situationseparates learner’s lives from the poem and makes them regard the poemas difficult study. The poem can be seen as a kind of a narrative as the expression ofmeaning which is created from the poet’ s experience. Beyond the World of Color, To the World of Light andShade-Cho Dong-keel’s Novels Examined through a Fog Motif-Choi, Young-ukCho Dong-keel’s novels having fog as a motif show the world of his worksthat is proceeding to the third world, beyond the conflicting perspective onhumans and lives. This paper targets six short novels, 「Get Away, Fog」, 「Fog of 20 Years」,「Suffering from Fog」, 「Mother’s Fog」, 「Scent of Fog」, and 「Period ofSettling in the Foggy Town」. In 「Suffering from Fog」, fog is an illusion. Although fog blocks the reality, it shows concealed freedom and truth, allthe more. In 「Get Away, Fog」, fog means everything that intends to attenuate freewill of humans. In 「Mother’s Fog」, fog means the present that embracessorrow of the time and conceives the future. In 「Period of Settling in theFoggy Town」, fog means problems of neo-liberalism. In 「Fog of 20 Years」and 「Scent of Fog」, fog means the attribute of love that has an uncertainborderline between eroticism and narcissism. A Study on Relationship of Choi In-hoon’s creativetheory and The SquareKim, Ki-wooChoi In-hoon’s theory of art and literature is archetypal in that it integratesvarious theories about aesthetics, the way of creative writing and cultural criticismon a higher plane to generate an individual, that is, ‘human mind.’ Now in theage of information and culture in which information is technologized, his theoryhas a close affinity with the present cultural climate since it adjusts ‘DNA,’ acarrier of bio-information, into ‘DNA´’ and ‘DNA∞’ in a systematic way. The essay explores his theory about art and literature which has not beensufficiently dealt with hitherto, and focuses on its application to his novels. Choi In-hoon says that human is an animal of self-identity and has three layersof consciousness; ‘biological self-identity’, ‘civilized self-identity’ and ‘fantasticself-identity.’ Of the three, civilized self-identity is unique to human. Althoughhe is developing civilization, human can not escape from his anxiety aboutfinitude. As a result, he gets a kind of consciousness about the need to overcomehis finitude, and it leads to fantastic consciousness, that is, self-identity on thedimension of religion and art. Religion asserts this self-identity as real, whereasart embraces it only under the promised condition of fantasy. Choi In-hoon takes as his main point the statement that ‘ontogenyrecapitulates phylogeny.’ He develops the concept of ‘DNA’, a carrier ofbiological genetic information, into ‘DNA'’(a carrier of civilized information),최인 훈 창작론과 광장의 상관성 연구․215‘DNA∞’(a carrier of fantastic information), transferring his theory of art intothat of literature. The essay analyzes his novels including The Square, OneDay in the Life of Novelist Kubo, Journey to the West, Typhoon, Hwaduon the basis of his theory about art and the way of creative writing. The Square corresponds well with ‘three forms of human metabolism,’Choi In-hoon’s key theory of art. ‘Technical object’ in ‘three forms of humanmetabolism,’ which may refer to national division, brings about thecircumstance in which Lee Myeong-jun, biological subject and technicalexpressive subject, is suffering from ‘DNA’ which he took from his fatherin North Korea. He goes up to the plane of ‘DNA'’, ‘technical expressivesubject’ by way of books, ‘technical object’, but realizing its futility, hegropes for ‘something fruitful and fit to burst with which he can live.’ Itis love. Through love, Lee Myeong-jun wants to obtain a compensation forhis disillusionment as civilized subject. Love, fantastic expressive subject,is ‘DNA∞’ for him, and he aspires after it.

The fantastic nature of narration and ambivalent writingLee, Hye-rinThis thesis was written to study the ambivalence in the discourse method inIlji Ha’s Testimony. Testimony describes the “conversational” communicationbetween the “unreliable narrator” and the “coercive narratee” who is forcingthe speaker to provide testimony. The unreliable narrator is deprived ofnarrative authority and requests an implied author, and the meaning of thiswork shifts depending on the distance between the narrator and the impliedauthor. The narratee participates in the narrative transaction through theconfrontation with the unreliable narrator, and provides dynamics to thecommunication in Testimony. However, the point exists in Testimony wherethe discourse method to invite the others ultimately culminates to excludeothers. In conjunction with the ambivalence of the “fantasy” in the narrator’sdiscourse, the positivity of “conversational” communication and the negativityof soliloquy simultaneously emerge. Such characteristic of Ilji Ha’s Testimonyis interesting because it fiddles with the essence of story which comes alivethrough contract and transaction. This thesis attempts to review the meaningand limitations of ambivalent writing in Testimony which symbolizessoliloquy and conversation along with reality and fantasy simultaneously.
