Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 코팅한 폴리프로필렌필름의 항균 및 항진균 특성에 관한 연구

본 연구는 기능성 항균 포장재를 신선식품에 적용하기 위 한 연구로서 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 식품용 포장재 중 하나인 PP 필름에 코팅하여 항균 및 항진균성을 확인하였 다. 이를 검증하기 위하여 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide를 PP 필 름에 각각 5%, 10%, 15% 농도로 코팅하였으며, FESEM과 FT-IR 분석을 통해 분산된 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide의 코팅 여부를 확인하였다. 또한 항균 효과를 검증하기 위하여 대 조군과 코팅 물질의 농도에 따른 필름의 항균 및 항진균성 을 분석하였다. 코팅 필름의 표면 분석 결과 PP 필름의 표 면에서 Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide의 농도에 따라 코팅 액의 분포 크기가 불규칙하지만 넓게 나타났다. 또한 항균 효과 에 따른 분석 결과 박테리아 균 중 하나인 E. coli에서 99.9%의 항균 효과를 확인하였으며, R. oryzae의 성장을 약 70% 억제하여 PP 필름 코팅 적용 후에도 Zeolite/Zincpolypeptide가 E. coli와 R. oryzae에 대하여 항균 및 항진 균 특성을 갖고 있음을 확인하였다. 이에 따라 Zeolite/Zincpolypeptide 코팅 필름은 기능성 포장재로서 신선식품의 부 패 방지와 보관수명 향상에 효과적일 것으로 보이며, 향후 다양한 신선식품에 적용하기 위한 저장 실험이 요구되어진다.

This study is for the application of functional antibacterial packaging to fresh food. Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide was coated on PP film at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, degree of dispersion was verified through FESEM and FT-IR analysis. In addition, the antibacterial and antifungal properties of the films were analyzed according to the control group and the concentration of coating materials. As a result, the degree of dispersion of coating material was irregular but wide, depending on the concentration of Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide on the surface of PP film. The antibacterial effect against E. coli was over 99.9%, and the growth of R. oryzae was inhibited about 70%. Therefore, it was confirmed that Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide had antibacterial and antifungal properties against E. coli and R. oryzae even after coated on PP film. In conclusion, Zeolite/Zinc-polypeptide coating film is expected to be effective in preventing corruption and improving the shelf life of fresh food as a functional packaging material. In order to be applied to various fresh foods in the future, storage experiments are additionally required with temperature and humidity conditions according to fresh foods.

The present study was conducted to accomplish management efficiency by preparing preemptive measures for consumer dissatisfaction and overcome risks caused by Global Warming through studies of model cases in packaging. Through this study, we made it possible to find a way for companies to prepare for Global warming and consumer dissatisfaction. By contributing to eco-friendly packaging, we are trying to preemptively respond to recent major issues through packaging. Through this experiment, we tried to measure the degree of penetration of Plodia interpunctella H. larva into the insect repellent film produced by printing Ink containing a natural repellent. The control experiment was conducted with an untreated LDPE film to which no insect repellent was applied. The numbers decreased from 17 to 7 when the film was processed with repellent to show experimental results verifying effects of repellent by decrease in 10 (58.8% Decrease). Such results show that it is safe when the film is unfolded but in the case where the film is folded, the Plodia interpunctella H. punches through the film to lead to consumer dissatisfaction and it suggests that this can bring on risks to corporate management. Considering that most of the film is folded in the case of PE bag packaging, the direction which the corporations should take in terms of preparing for climate change countermeasures and consumer dissatisfaction has been clarified. Due to it receiving satisfactory results in safety rest results for printing film applied with pest repellent as well as the Quality analysis to test repellent contents of repellent film, it is certain that the importance of repellent method in packaging will increase in preparing for consumer dissatisfaction and actions against climate change henceforth.

Recent studies on recyclable materials in the packaging have an increased attention due to the eco-friendly policies of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in worldwide. Roasted coffee beans mostly packed in multi-layered films and papers according to their expiration date. To satisfy both recyclability and barrier properties, researches have been continued on paper-based packaging materials to enhance their properties. In this study, packaging materials for coffee beans are developed by laminating bioplastic films on papers. The tests of packaging materials were performed with mechanical properties, gas and water vaper permeability, recyclability and storage quality for coffee beans. Compared to other samples, the paper/bioplastics-based coffee package composed of starch coated papers and two bioplastics showed the lowest barrier properties, comparable mechanical strength and ability to maintain the quality of roasted coffee beans. Thus, it could be a good alternative for multi-layered packages for roasted coffee beans.

고온기 준고랭지에서 재배한 배추의 생육과 저장에 미치 는 영향을 구명하고자 하였다. ‘춘광’ 배추를 홍천에서 재 배 방법(노지 및 시설 재배)에 따른 생육 특성과 수확 후 저 장 시 특성을 조사하였다. 수확 후 생육은 시설 재배한 배 추가 생체중과 엽두께에서 노지 재배와 차이를 보였지만, 가식부인 결구 부분에서는 큰 차이를 보이지 않아, 재배 방 법에 따른 생육에 미치는 영향을 언급하기 어려웠다. 준고 랭지에서 재배한 ‘춘광’ 배추의 저장 시 생체중이나 정선 손 실률, 수분함량 등에서 유의 차이를 보였다. 동일 지역에서 시설과 노지로 재배를 달리한 경우 생체중량이나 정선 손 실률은 시설 재배가 변화폭이 더 커서 유의 차이를 보였으 며, 수분함량은 다소 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 고온기 배추의 수확 후 저장 시 차이가 나타났음을 확인하고, 수확 전 요인이 저장까지 영향을 미치는 유기적 인 관계를 확인하였다. 농산물에 대한 생산성 위주의 연구 가 주류를 이루었으나, 앞으로는 생산뿐만 아니라 저장 동 안의 영향을 확인 할 필요가 있다.

This experiment was conducted to determine the effects of the pre- and post-harvest variable factors on the processed product of kimchi cabbage cultivated in semi-highland at summer time. Kimchi cabbage cultivar ‘Chun Gwang’ was grown in an open field and/or under a plastic greenhouse condition; it was stored at 0? after harvesting with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film packaging. The pre-harvest characteristics growth parameters, fresh weight, head weight, no of leaves, leaf thickness, firmness, moisture content etc. were evaluated. The evaluated postharvest characteristics were fresh weight loss, appearance, trimming loss, SPAD value, moisture content and hue angle. The results show that the fresh weight and leaf thickness were higher in ‘Chun Gwang’ kimchi cabbages grown in the greenhouse than those in the field. However, the other evaluated factors were not affected by the type of cultural method. During the storage, the cabbage continued to decrease in fresh weight loss, trimming loss and moisture content. When compared to the kimchi cabbage showed significant difference in the fresh weight loss, trimming loss and moisture content during storage. It was confirmed that both cultural methods indoor- and outdoor did not show head growth parameters of ‘Chun Gwang’ kimchi cabbages on semi-high land at summer time. Although no difference in the growth before storage was observed, the evaluated characteristics like fresh weight loss etc. were influenced by cultural method as a pre-harvest factor. This study suggests that there were to be affected by pre-harvest factor during storage after harvest. In this study, an integrated management system combining relationship between processed agricultural products and their pre- and postharvest factors.

포장 김치의 숙성에 맞춘 CO2 흡수제 배합비율 설계

Calcium hydroxide (CH) reacts with CO2 to produce moisture, and sodium carbonate (SC) reacts with CO2 in the presence of moisture. Using these different characteristics of these two reactants, a CH/SC mixture of CO2 absorber tuned for kimchi ripening to produce CO2 in a flexible package was selected. A ratio of CH:SC (1:2) in highly gas permeable microporous spunbonded film (Tyvek) sachet was found to be appropriate for delayed and consistent CO2 absorption useful for kimchi package. Addition of superabsorbent polymer (SAP) as moisture buffer was helpful for boosting the consistency of CO2 absorption. In a package of 0.5 kg kimchi at 10oC, the sachet consisting of 0.794 g of CH + 2.276 g of SC + 0.4 g of SAP suppressed its volume expansion and maintained a suitable range of CO2 partial pressure (PCO2) steadily inside. These optimal conditions may vary depending on the type and salinity of kimchi, storage and distribution temperature, and the material and area of the absorber sachet. This study showed a potential of mixture CO2 absorber to be tuned for CO2 producing packaged kimchi for the purpose of keeping consistent PCO2 at tolerable volume expansion.

굴 패각 분말을 함유한 항균성 복합 필름의 제조 및 특성 연구

본 연구에서는 EVA/LDPE 복합소재에 OSP의 함량비를 달리한 EVA/LDPE-OSP 복합 필름을 이축압출기로 제조하 였다. 제조한 복합 필름의 액티브 포장 소재로의 적용가능 성을 평가하기 위해 FT-IR, DSC, TGA, OTR, WVTR, SEM, UTM 및 항균성을 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. EVA/LDPE-OSP 복합 필름 내 OSP 첨가는 열 안전성을 개선할 수 있었으며, OSP 함량이 높아질수록 항균성은 증가하였다. 그러나, OSP의 응집, EVA/LDPE 폴 리머와 OSP 사이의 낮은 상호작용 등의 이유로 OSP의 첨 가는 상대적으로 낮은 항균성과 기계적 물성, 차단특성의 저하를 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 EVA/LDPE-OSP 복 합 필름은 미생물에 의해 발생할 수 있는 식품의 부패를 방지하는 측면에서 긍정적인 효과를 가져올 수 있지만, 포 장재로써 적용을 위해 무기입자인 OSP의 입자크기 조절, 표면처리, 상용화제 도입 등을 통한 분산성을 향상시키는 것이 필요하며 이를 통한 항균성 증진 및 필름의 물성 개 선에 관한 추가 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

In this study, ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) composite films (EVA/ LDPE-OSP) containing calcined oyster shell powder (OSP) were prepared using twin-screw extruder as an antimicrobial packaging material. The OSP composite was initially prepared and then incorporated into an EVA/LDPE blend at different ratios (0, 1, 3 and 5%) to develop the EVA/LDPE-OSP composite films. The as-prepared EVA/LDPE-OSP composites films were evaluated using FT-IR, DSC, TGA, OTR, WVTR, SEM and UTM as well as antimicrobial activity was examined using JIS Z 2801:2000 standard. OPS endowed the antimicrobial potency to the composite films against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria. In addition, the incorporation of OSP remarkably enhanced the thermal stability. OSP as a natural biocidal agent can be used as a multifunctional additive in packaging industry such as improving the thermomechanical properties and preventing the microbial contamination of packaged products.
