This study was conducted in order to examine the current state of Korean beauty businesses and to assist in creating solutions for further development. Periodicals, books, news and internet data were compiled and analyzed to understand current beauty industry trends. Additionally, related research papers, reports from government were cited for this study. The outcome revealed that market conditions were improved in terms of quality and availability. However, the number of consumers who felt distressed about their physical and emotional state rose sharply. These consumers responded by investing in industries such as beauty and tourism. In terms of current trends, simple, holistic approaches were favored along with natural and organic products. In the domestic market, service industries including spa, leisure, and vacation are steadily developing as the demand for ‘healing’ and ‘detoxing’ is on the rise. Products and services that combine different elements such as beauty, health, medical, culture and tourism have been popular. Along with Korean dramas and K-pop, these packages have helped create a ‘Korean wave’ internationally, positively affecting the market. Make-up exportation has been increasing in neighboring Asian nations as demand in American and European markets has also grown. Cosmetic and beauty industries such as hair, make-up and nails are being integrated, with positive results, into other industries such as health, fashion, medical, cultural, leisure, and tourism. This pattern is giving rise to beauty lifestyle and ‘value-mixed’ industries. In conclusion, the beauty business can continue to expect promising growth in the future.

Cable TV expands fast, it gradually bears commercial characteristics influencing corporate profits, and it seems that it surfaces as a new distribution market of, especially, the products that are aired by beauty programs. In such a background, this study attempted to find out what variables produce corelation among viewers’ satisfaction level, competitions’ profitability, promotion effect of the aired products, and purchase decision-making factors, and analyze relations of satisfaction level to what motivates them to view beauty programs, purchase factors, and brand images. I set research problems by surveying viewers’ viewing motivation, purchase factors, and effect of brand images on satisfaction level, and had them go through statistical analysis using SPSS 18.0 Statistical Program for Windows to see if they match research hypotheses. According to the results, neither viewing motivation nor purchase factors had significant effect on satisfaction level, but with regard to relation between brand image and satisfaction level, satisfaction level was higher in proportion to level of brand credibility.

Dealing with people, the beauty industry is very dependent on human resources. Consumers of service make a judgment of values of a company and further the entire beauty industry according to the quality of service provided by employees. Concerned studies have reported that the quality of service provided by employees is influenced by their job satisfaction. Based on those theoretical backgrounds, this study set demographic characteristics as factors influencing job satisfaction and analyzed correlations among them. Research questions were set by dividing demographic characteristics into the personal factors involving employees and the workplace factors involving workplaces. The questions were examined with the SPSS 18.0 statistical program for Windows. The findings show that the workplace factors had higher correlations with job satisfaction than the personal ones. Of the subfactors of personal factors, only educational backgrounds had effects on job satisfaction. Of the workplace factors, the form and location of workplace, position, and average daily working hours had direct impacts on job satisfaction.

This study investigated 180 beauty industry professionals working in Busan and Kyung-na by means of a questionnaire with a view to finding out how an beauty industry professionals emotional labor influences turnover intention. The result of the study is as follows: the Beauty Industry Professionals emotional labor(emotional expressions frequency, emotional expressions attention, emotional expressions variation, emotional dissonance) and turnover intention showed a positive(+) correlation. The conclusion can be summarized as follows: beauty industry professionals go through a high degree of emotional labor and turnover intention while they work on the spot and it has been confirmed that their emotional labor influences their turnover intention.

The purposes of this study were to examine the relation between internal customer's satisfaction and organizational commitment and service orientation. To achieve the purposes, a questionnaire was conducted to 367 hair shop's employees. Data were analyzed by structure equation modeling of SPSS 18.0 program. The results of this study were summarized as follow: First, the internal marketing was related positively to employees' service orientation. Second, the internal marketing was related positively to consumer orientation.

1990년대 국내에 퍼스널 컬러 시스템이 도입된 이후 우리나라에서는 국내․외 퍼스널 시 스템들이 혼용되어 사용되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내에서 대표적으로 사용되 는 국내․외 퍼스널 컬러 시스템들의 진단천을 중심으로 그 특성을 비교 분석하여 장단점 을 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 보다 효과적인 퍼스널 컬러 시스템의 적용을 위한 기초자료 제 공에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 연구방법으로 분광측색계를 이용하여 진단천의 색상 값을 측정 한 후 사계절 시스템을 기준으로 국가별 공통으로 구성되어 있는 빨간색, 노란색, 초록색, 파란색 진단천의 색상값을 비교 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론이 도출되었다. 영국의 겨울 유 형 진단천은 다른 국가의 진단천보다 상대적으로 명도가 높은 경향성을 보이며 파란색을 제외한 다른 색상의 진단천은 유형 간 색상값의 차이가 크지 않은 것이 특징이다. 일본의 여름 유형 진단천은 다른 국가의 진단천보다 명도가 낮은 경향성을 보인다. 한국의 봄 유형 진단천은 다른 국가의 진단천보다 채도가 높게 나타났고 여름과 겨울 유형 진단천의 콘트 라스트가 크게 나타났다. 독일의 여름 유형 진단천은 다른 국가의 진단천보다 명도가 높고 채도는 낮은 경향성을 보였다. 국내외 퍼스널 컬러 진단천의 비교결과, 4개국 모두 유형별 진단천 색상의 특성 및 구성이 다르게 나타났으며 이는 동일인을 대상으로 4개국의 진단천 을 이용하여 퍼스널 컬러를 진단하였을 때 그 결과가 각각 상이하게 나타날 수 있으므로 퍼스널 컬러 시스템의 사용 전에 반드시 사용하고자 하는 각 시스템들의 진단방법과 진단 천의 컬러를 분석하여 그 특성을 인지해야 한다.
