In the light of latest tendency to ever-increasing senior population under the influence of aging society, it is expected that silver industry will be established for future senior class which will be characterized by vigorous consumption needs and diversified consumption behaviors. In addition, the entrance into aging society involves more interests in aging retardation and beauty care as well as higher desires for keeping beautiful and young appearance than before. That is why cosmetic industry becomes recognized a promising and potential future industry which will be likely developing on perpetual basis. Based on prior reference articles, technical books, news release, newspaper and web browsing, this study sought to examine theoretical backgrounds for silver industry and silver generation's consumption behaviors and also sought to compare and analyze the actual sales profile of senior cosmetics for silver generation in Korea and Japan. As apposed to Japanese cosmetics industry committed proactively to developing and marketing senior cosmetics for silver generation, there is very few cases of senior cosmetics for silver generation in Korea. Thus, it is also urgently demanded to make detailed categorization for Korean senior cosmetics to meet each age of silver generation. Moreover, it is necessary to make viable sales strategies to develop better goods or services to meet silver consumers' consumption behaviors and needs, ultimately contributing to facilitating silver market in Korea.

One of the most outstanding social change in the twentieth Century is the change of the traditional concept of sex, and a new social phenomenon has appeared where men express their inner femineity and women, their inner masculinity, as they accept the culture based on the different concept of sex from the traditional one. Metrosexual phenomenon is one of the most remarkable reformative factors to show the present lifestyles of men and the masculine beauty of the 21th Century, which is the key word for the present men who take care of themselves and are full of self-confidence. We can witness this phenomenon in overall popular cultures, such as TV, movies, music videos, ads, etc. This article examines the background and concept of the inclination for feminization in male make-up as a new cultural aspect emerged out of the interaction between the society and men, particularly focusing on metrosexual. In addition, this article divides the designs of metrosexual make-up according to their formative features into the following three categories: the deconstructive image expressed by the colors and make-up patterns showing feminine image and various feels of materials; the compromising image expressed by mixing the male factors and the female factors; and the decorative image expressed by borrowing the female image on the basis of the male sexual image. Futhermore, this article presents the features of the above-mentioned three categories, which will help to understand the expressive features in the present male make-up and to predict the future development of the male make-up design and changes in expression.

The make up in historical drama gives good effect to the visual image of characters which does not express historical situation. In this study, we analyze the main role of make up to make their characters more lively. Drama, according to the case of Ages of Great Warriors in Koryo Dynasty, on air drama in Korea Broadcasting Company. So that they generally make up the characters by their imagination based on historical investigation, they make do this by strong tone and actually prefer to make strong characteristic make up styles. Especially, for emphasizing the actors characters , make up artists make points to the shape of their beard and eye balls. We have a little limitation that this study depends on their final output without comparing this study to the historical research.

Today, total coordination is one of important subjects for people , especially for women, who are living in modern society. Basically, this research shows how effective and important total coordination is by showing image changes of people, which are based on make-up, hair styling and clothing. Human always have wanted to be look beautiful and attractive to others from long time ago and this is known as one of basic instincts of human. Therefore, in these days, a large number of women are focusing on beauty and attraction of their appearances and even some of them are investing a lot of money on making them look more beautiful and attractive. Actually, attractive looking helps people a lot. For instance, attractive looking gives people much of self-confidence and it increases satisfaction of their lives. Also it even gives people more possibilities to be succeeded in love as well. Hence, today, total coordination is defined by one of necessary things that people should focus on and it is became popular in people, especially in women because in fact, the rate of woman workers is increased hugely and their interest of total coordination is increasing a lot day by day. Today, people consider their appearances as one of important actual abilities, in other words, people know attractive looking gives them a lot of opportunities in many ways such as there are more possibilities to be succeeded in work place and school for people, who have beautiful and attractive looking. That is why people started to care about their appearances and focusing on their image changes a lot such as make-up, hair styling, clothing and even accessory, skin and surgery. In my opinion, I strongly believe that total coordination is one of most important subjects, which people should pay attention to in modern generation. In this research, I focused on the image changes of the women age from 20 to 30 year old and analyzed the difference when people changed their images with coordination and did not change their images to prove how the total coordination can change appearances of people, advantages of total coordination and even positive effects on personalities of people. I hope this research will be useful for every people, who are interested in total coordination and need help from total coordination to make their lives great.

In the study, the beauty elements of "Hwangjini" in video media were analyzed. First in the movie, a 17-year-old girl Hwangjini wears natural make-up to express pure and refreshing feels. In the middle and latter part of the movie, the make-up is changed to express a soft, smoky image. The actress wears make-up that's a little bit darker than her skin tone to represent mature, classy beauty. Getting ahead of its time, her hair shows changes to size and position to pursue diversity and is decorated with various ornaments and feathers. The most eye-catching aspect of her costume is "color arrangement," which succeeds in expressing sadness, despair, elegance, wealth, and dignity all at the same time by eliminating "red" and adopting purple, green, and black. In the drama Hwangjini, the heroine wears "Bundae make-up" considering the period. She wears "braids" as a little girl, "saeangmeori" during her training days, and "tremeori" after she becomes a gisaeng named "Myeongwol" to represent her splendor and pride. Her costume before Myeongwol is in pastel colors to highlight her innocence. Once she becomes a gisaeng, her hanbok maximizes the form beauty of the traditional Korean clothing and adopts red as the dominant color. Addition of flower patterns promotes the diversity of her costume.

Recently, teenagers' concern of feature is increased and physical satisfaction of middle school students become an important factor on their peer group. At this point of time, it makes a difficulty that understanding of beauty consciousness and assimilation on their peer group are necessary in order to apposite education and product development. In this study, we used SPSS 14.0 software to research physical satisfaction of middle school students and skin care pattern. We calculated frequency and percentage and conformed that by t-test, One-way ANOVA, χ2(Chi-square) analysis technique. As a result, relationship of between of physical satisfaction and skin care pattern in middle school students was not significant.

Fashion is a means of communication that represents the society and culture of an era and delivers meanings as a visual style. The chav style, which used to be a subculture in the past, has started to receive positive responses from people as it's more exposed to the public via pop stars' images. This study investigated the importance of an image concept, which allows one to lead fashion and create one's own image, and the concepts and characteristics of the chav style. In order to examine the chav images in star fashion, the investigator compared and analyzed three female singers(Lee Hyo-ree, Eom Jeong-hwa and Seo In-yeong), who released an album and did promotional performances in July and August, 2008, in terms of the music video of the title, comeback stage, and album jacket. The three female singers' hairdo, make-up, costume, and accessory were analyzed according to color, material, and detail to understand the chav elements in their styles. The analysis results show that the female pop singers used the chav elements as important means to create a sexy image. Stars create a sexy image system that's fully calculated in order to maintain their star image and product value. Greater exposure of stars to media stimulates people to copy and identify with them and thus contributes to the creation of a vogue. Since the scope of the study was limited to three female singers, it's suggested that further researches should be conducted on chav elements in the concept images of entertainers of other fields and male entertainers.

Make-up is a means of expressing the trends of the times and matches the "aesthetic subject" of the times. Today, the general public shows huge interest in "extending youth." As a result, the baby face fever has established itself as a culture and beauty trend. The "baby face" fever has also affected make-up sensitive to trends, shifted a focus from "make-up for color expressions" to "make-up for skin expressions" that highlights the feel of a material, created new make-up terms such as "a naked face," "water shine," "light shine," "gloss shine" and "porcelain complexion." It has also helped to vitalize the beauty industry by giving birth to new make-up styles and patterns. Among the three major formative elements of make-up, which are colors, forms, and feel of a material, the last one has gone through the most changes. The forms also reflect the characteristics of a baby face. The results of the study shed light to the specific process of the "baby face fever" taking root as a cultural code. It's also been implied that a trend could create a new make-up pattern and have enormous impacts on the beauty industry.

In a movie, characters play critical roles such as leading a "story" and creating the overall atmosphere. Their make-up, hair styles, and garments do reflect the social and cultural background and fashion trends of the period and reveal information about their personalities, social status, and mental state. There have been many researches on the styles, make-up techniques, and character make-up of characters, but there are only a handful of researches that compared and analyzed the actual styles of the period and the reproduced styles in a movie. In this study, the investigator compared and analyzed the actual Hollywood actresses from the 1930's and the female characters of The Radio Days and The Modern Boy, which were Korean movies that depicted new generation female styles. As a result, the overall styles of the movies about the 1930's were changed or reinterpreted, which means that there is a difference between the actual styles of the 1930's and the reproduced ones of the movies. In terms of hair styles and garments, in particular, resemble the forms and silhouettes of the period. But the make-up hardly reflected the style of the period that emphasized the three-dimensional feel of the face and the eyes in an effort to follow the contemporary trend. Differences were also observed in the ways that the styles were reproduced according to the vocations, roles and characters of the female protagonists of the movies. The differences can be attributed to the fact that the movies contained 'a combination of different genres 'including comedy' that didn't require strict historical research.

Selecting and giving out awards to excellent movies, a movie award ceremony is a big festival to all the people in the filmmaking industry including producers and actors. Every year dresses worn by big stars attract the biggest attention from the public. Thus not only the filmmaking industry but also the fashion industry pay extra attention to a movie award ceremony. This study set out to investigate total fashion image encompassing clothes, make-up, and hair styles, identify the overall styles, and analyze the changing process. It also aimed to figure out the flows in total fashion at movie award ceremonies and the aesthetic characteristics. For those purposes, the investigator first reviewed the movie award ceremonies of Korea and analyzed the changing process of the fashion style of Kim Hye-su, who has hosted the Blue Dragon Film Awards, one of the biggest movie award ceremonies in the nation, for nine consecutive years. Based on the analysis results and the overall fashion image, four different types of sophisticated and elegant beauty, provocative sensual beauty, clean and pure beauty, and wild and distinctive beauty were identified. As for Kim's fashion style and its changes, she tried to change her image every year with diverse fashion styles. Fashion at such a movie award ceremony served as a new channel to create a vogue. The limitations of the study come from the fact that the basis of Kim's images for the last nine years is exposure and sexiness and that the four categories of aesthetic characteristics blend in with each other. In addition to those limitations, the contents not covered in the study were suggested for future study.

Geranium rose oil activate TOP flash. So, we carried out to investigate the effect of these essential oils on hair growth in a shaving animal model of C57BL/6 mice. The animals were divided into 3 groups including negative control group (vehicle), positive control group(5% minoxidil), and experimental group (3% geranium rose) and they were topically applied with an amount of 100㎕ once a day, every other day for 4 weeks. Hair regrowth was evaluated by photographical bservations. Topical treatment of Geranium rose oils for 4 weeks to dorsal skin accelerated hair regrowth faster than vehicle group, as evaluated in photographical observation. Geranium rose oils groups promoted development and elongation of hair follicles by 115% in comparison with vehicle group. To investigate the effect of proliferation and differentiation in normal human keratinocytes by Geranium rose oil, we made recombinant adenovirus; expressing luciferase-tagged involucrin promoter. After adenoviral transduction into normal human keratinocytes cultured in vitro, performed luciferase assay to the effect of Geranium rose oil for keratinocyte differentiation. As a result, involucrin promoter activity was slightly increased by Geranium rose oil. Together, our results implicate the potential of Geranium rose oil for hair loss drug and keratinocyte differentiation promoting.

Makeup and Hair style represent culture that reflect the aspects of life, and thus the movie has a large influence on them. The times were changing, and the movie become a popular way for people to satisfy their artistic desire and so it became the leader of worldwide trends. The actress occupies the most important part of the movie. She has to be able to portray the essence of the movie and the success of the movie depends largely on her. The actress's makeup hold an essential part in creating her image. Also, this gives direct impact to the public, and the actress becomes the object of general imitation by people of all different positions. The hollywood movies in the forties showed woman's image. Also physical characters of movie star were reflected in the movie. This study has examined characteristics of hollywood actress in 1940's, focusing on movie, ads, which sensitively respond to the social conditions. First, it has explained times background in 40's. Secondly, it has reviewed the makeup and hair style features in 40's. Thirdly, it has analyzed the makeup and hair style characteristic of hollywood actress in movie and pictures.

This study analysed works that won championship at 2008 Chicago Hair World and defined the concept of design and creative style based on history of creative styles and how to allot marks. As far as external analysis of creative styles, a trend of 2008 is presented as follows: use of pastel colors, repetition of C-shaped curl and S-shaped curls to form waves, formation of curved lines through structures, shapes, textures and colors and representation of gentle and delicate style. In a process of designing our style, we found that hair can have volume and directions according to directionality and flow of hair root, and softness of hair mesh and movements of C-curls and S-curls can be identified according to how to blow and directions. It is hoped that this study will be helpful to hair and beauty artists through theoretical knowledge and practical application of international hair trend.

This study examined hair styles of Korean women from 1910 to 2000 and the results are presented as follows: In 1910s, they had pompadour style with hair braided behind the ears and young children or students had the end of their hair loose. In 1920s, bobbed hair was popular, which was a great innovation in hair styling. In 1930s, electric permanent as well as set and ironed hair was popular. In 1940s, permanent wave style that was prohibited in the late Japanese imperialism was revived after the restoration of independence. In 1950s, common people mimicked hair style of foreign movie stars because spread of film industry. In 1960s, women's hair style became diversified and fashion wig was a vogue. And short, natural and simple hair was popular. In 1970s, simple hair with a focus on activity was quite popular and men wore their hair long. In early 1980s, natural and bold waves were popular through straight perm. In 1990s, straight perm hair style was still popular and young people represented their characters through various styles such as dying and retro style. In 2000s, braided, reggae and attached hair styles were preferred, and shaggy cut, bang style, one-length style and bold wave styles appeared .
