인공지능(AI) 기술이 초래하는 사회·산업적 변화에 대응하기 위해 초등학생 단계부터 실제적 문제를 다루는 AI 융합 교육이 요구된다. 이에 본 연구는 가상 창업을 주제로 한 디자인 씽킹 2P 확장 모델을 초등학생의 발달 단계에 맞게 재구조화한 12차시의 AI 융합 교육프로그램을 개발 및 적용하였다. 디지털 새싹 캠프에 참여한 초등학교 6학년 학생 21명을 대상으로 적용하여 디지털 역량과 AI·SW 인식의 변화 및 산출물 기반 분석을 통해 교육적 효과를 교차 검증하였다. 그 결과 학습자의 디지털 역량과 SW·AI 인식이 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었으며, 특히 AI 리터러시와 자기효능감 영역에서 높은 교육적 효과가 확인되었다. 또한 단계별 산출물 분석을 통해 추상적인 아이디어가 AI 기술과 융합한 산출물로 구현되고 사회적 가치를 창출하는 성장이 관찰되었다. 본 연구는 초등학생 대상 AI 융합교육의 범위를 일상적 수준에서 사회·산업적 문제로 확장하는 교수 설계 원칙을 탐색하고, 2P 확장 모델을 초등 고학년 단계로 재구조화하여 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 탐색적으로 확인하였다.

To address the socio-industrial transformations driven by artificial intelligence (AI) technology, authentic AI convergence education that tackles real-world problems is essential from the elementary school level. Accordingly, this study developed and implemented a 12-session AI convergence education program by restructuring the Design Thinking 2P Expansion Model, themed around 'virtual entrepreneurship,' to align with the developmental stage of elementary students. The program was applied to 21 sixth-grade students participating in the Digital Camp. The educational effects were cross-validated by measuring changes in their digital competency and perception of SW·AI, alongside a qualitative analysis of student artifacts. The results indicated a statistically significant improvement in the learners' digital competency and perception of SW·AI, with particularly high educational effects observed in the domains of AI literacy and self-efficacy. Furthermore, the step-by-step artifact analysis revealed substantial growth, demonstrating how students translated abstract ideas into tangible artifacts integrated with AI technology to create social value. This study is significant as it empirically validates instructional design principles it explores instructional design principles that expand the scope of elementary AI convergence education from everyday contexts to broader socio-industrial issues, and offers preliminary evidence for the potential of restructuring the 2P Expansion Model for the upper-elementary level.
