조직 분석(ASTM E1382)에 의한 용융흔 정량적 판별 연구

The molten marks of electrical wiring found at the fire site can be helpful in inferring the cause of the fire and the ignition point, and it is a very important piece of evidence. However, in the fire department, there are few cases of quantitative analysis and study on the texture of molten marks. In this study, based on the ASTM E1382 standard, using an analysis program called iSolution DT, the image taken with an electron microscope is analyzed and quantitatively determined. In a energized state, the electric wiring was short-circuited at 25°C and 600°C to form molten marks. The primary melt scar shorted at 25°C showed a small columnar structure major axis ratio (GAR), and the secondary melt scar shorted at 600°C showed a large major axis ratio (GAR). As a result, it will be very helpful in quantitatively classifying primary and secondary melt traces using isolution DT.

Failures in high voltage power transformers are classified as a kind of disaster accompanied by fires and explosions. It could lead enormous loss of property due to equipment damage and restoration, and black-out of power grid can take place by separating the fault section from the power system. In particular, power facilities including transformers have been intensively installed in Republic of Korea since the 1988 Seoul Olympics. These power equipment is operated for more than 30 years from then. The power transformers in long-term operation are aged and a number of failures tend to increase, therefore, necessity of developing transformer fire prevention and suppression technology is emerging. This paper deals with the development of 154 kV class power transformer real-scale fire test method through its fire and explosion mechanism analysis to advancement fire prevention and suppression technology on power transformer. The test method includes, test items, subjects, facilities, and test site. The established transformer fire mechanism could be applied to develop new investigation method for cause of transformer fire, and real-scale test methodology could be widely utilized for various research such as transformer fire and explosion test, development of its extinguishing technology.

The technology in the automobile field has steadily developed and the number of registered automobiles has also increased explosively, and automobiles have become an essential part of our daily life. An increase in the penetration rate or frequency of use of automobiles can increase the likelihood of accidents, and automobile fires are also occurring frequently. In the case of automobile fires, 458 cases have occurred in the past three years, accounting for 12.3% of the total 3,716 fires in Daegu, and about 50% of them occur inside the engine room of a car while driving or parked. In this study, we conduct various experiments on the starter motor, which is a device that uses a large current, among various causes that occur in the engine room of a car, and prove the electrical singularity and fire potential to identify the exact cause of the fire and suggest countermeasures against the car fire.

Sodium percarbonate is currently classified as an inorganic peroxide in accordance with [Appendix 1] of the ‘Act on the safety control of dangerous substances’ and is managed as a ‘specified quantity of 50kg’. However, sodium percarbonate, which is used as a bleaching agent at home, has a different physical hazard of oxidation from lithium peroxide and sodium peroxide, which are managed as other inorganic peroxides. Therefore, in this study, we intend to compare and analyze the differences through tests according to laws, UN GHS global standards and use them as fire investigation basic data in accidents caused by oxidizing soilds.
