In general, exhaust ducts should be provided with stainless steel sheets, zinc iron plates, or non-flammable materials of strength, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. In addition, when using flexible joints, only parts and lengths close to the exhaust fan should be minimized, and parts close to the hood should not be used. In the case of ducts used in restaurants such as restaurants, fires frequently occur by using flexible PVC ducts in adjacent areas of the hood to reduce costs. Regarding PVC duct ventilation, which is commonly used in restaurants and kitchens, we found that we are very vulnerable to fires because restaurant owners install flammable PVC ducts due to low installation and material costs. This is because there are no rules or regulations on duct types that can or cannot be installed. We investigated the vulnerabilities of using these ingredients in restaurant kitchens and strongly recommended establishing guidelines for using less flammable materials for safe duct ventilation.

The use of combustible metals in products in various industries such as automobiles is increasing significantly as the rare metal industry has recently developed and the industrial structure has shifted to a high-tech industry. Several fires, presumed to be spontaneous combustion, occurred at an automobile parts processing company in our area. Although it is known that combustible solids do not spontaneously ignite, this study was conducted to technically analyze and suggest the possibility of spontaneous ignition of mixtures generated during metal processing.

Polyurethane foam is often used as an insulation material in modern society due to its excellent insulation function, light weight and low density. As a result, fires are occurring frequently at construction sites using polyurethane foam. Due to the characteristics of polyurethane foam, the spread of fire is fast and toxic gases erupt in large quantities, causing property damage and human damage Most of the causes of the fire are caused by carelessness of workers during heat of work around the area, such as welding spark and torch use, with polyurethane foam applied. In response, this study experimented with the possibility of direct ignition on polyurethane foam applied using welding spark, grinder, and torch, which are the heat of works mainly used in construction sites. Experiments show that the applied polyurethane foam was easily ignited by welding spark, torches, and oil vapor except grinder spark. The purpose of the project is to prevent fires by prohibiting heat work such as welding at polyurethane foam work places and thoroughly observing and supervising prescribed fire safety rules.

This study is about the possibility of ignition and the cause of fire in a heating system using PolyEthylene Terephthalate ("PET heating film"). The fire case of PET heating film was investigated and the ignition point of each sample was analyzed through DSC-TGA. Based on this, the temperature measurement of heating element, the ignition test when the heating element disconected, and the connection part is damaged, the ignition test when the compression terminal is in incomplete contact, and the ignition possibility test of thermostat were conducted. As a result of the reenactment test, it is less possible to be on fire when the temperature sensor of the thermostat fails, but if the combustor and connection are damaged, if the compression terminal is in incomplete connection, it is possible to ignite due to the thermostat. From the research result, we are going to establish standards for fire investigation techniques and raise safety by raising awareness of the correct installation, importance of use, and the risk of fire in operation, finally it is contributing to the prevention of fire and helping to improve the quality of life of the people.

This study deals with dust collector fires installed in foundry. Due to the characteristics of the casting process, it is exposed to high temperature heat at all times and due to the structural characteristics of the sealed dust collector, it is difficult to extinguish the fire and to accurately identify the cause of fire. The recent dust collection facilities are focused only on the original purpose of coping with environmental pollution, and it is considered that they are neglected in installing additional safety nets that can flexibly cope with the structural risk of this facility and accidents such as fire. The structural characteristics of each dust collector will be understood, and the effective dust collector fire prevention plan will be derived through the study of dust collector fire detection cases and related experiments.

Due to the recent abnormal temperature phenomenon, smoke screen disinfection is used to control pests relatively easily in livestock houses and farm houses due to severe damage to pests regardless of the season As a result, fire cases are often reported. In this study, the temperature change of the vaporizer during the operation of the fogging machine was measured using a total of three types of fogging machine, and the possibility of fire due to surrounding combustibles was confirmed through reproduction experiments. Through reproduction experiments and fire cases in this study, we would like to suggest safety measures and prevention measures when using a fogging machine.

The use of ethanol sanitizers are on the rise due to the worldwide spread of Covid-19. However, there are some cases of fire and injury caused by various sanitizers containing ethanol, which is a dangerous substance. In this study, we analyzed possibility of ignition of gel-type hand sanitizers spreading on hand, also possibility of explosion of Spray-type sanitizer in enclosed space, accordingly the accurate instruction will suggest to raising awareness of fire from sanitizers.
