The IoT, which is leading the 4th industrial revolution, is bringing about great innovation by utilizing it in various fields based on data generated by connecting things and people or connecting things and things to the Internet. While industry and public sectors already recognize the loT as a future growth engine and various case of application are presented, there is no data on research and utilization of IoT in the fire investigation field. Therefore, this study aims to understand the concept and technology of the IoT through literature review on IoT, apply IoT to fire investigation, and improve the fire investigation method using IoT.

In this study, the possibility of explosion of the primer used in the pretreatment of polyurethane(PU) foam for strengthening the adhesion of the wall surface in an enclosed space such as a large-capacity water tank was studied. First, the heat release rate, which is a general thermal characteristic of polyurethane, was measured using a cone calorimeter, and as the polyurethane density increased, the maximum heat release rate(peak) and the total heat release rate(total) increased. The possibility of explosion of the polyurethane primer was compared with the explosive limit of xylene by measuring the concentration of xylene in the vapor by portable GC/MS when spraying the primer with 1×1㎡ plywood inside the container. In addition, the container opening was measured using the wind speed measurement method to measure the change in the concentration of xylene according to the wind speed during natural ventilation to confirm the need for ventilation after the primer work.

In Korea, short circuit breakers are used as devices to prevent electrical fires. The short circuit breaker is a device that blocks over-current and leakage current and has a great effect in preventing electric shock accidents, but it is insufficient in terms of preventing electrical fires caused by the arc. This is one of reason why electrical fires continue to occur even when short circuit breakers are installed in general-purpose homes. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the mechanism of fire by series arc so as to prevent fire by arc. So we will study the characteristics of each breaker and the results of the study will be used as useful data for identifying sources of electrical ignition in field.

Usually, except for explosions caused by gas, a flammable gas, at most fire sites, flammable liquid promoters and flammable solids are often caused by combustion. The combustion form of combustible liquid promoter is often found in floor finishes of fire sites such as homes and offices, so the combustion form of combustible liquid and combustible solid made in various floor finishes is analyzed and used for stone fire detection. The purpose of this study is to prevent errors by conducting experiments on the floor finishing material, which is mainly used for combustion shapes of flammable liquids and solid combustibles.

This paper studies the investigation technique of fire prevention using ED-XRF to solve the problems that occurred during the investigation process of fire prevention in low-temperature warehouse. Four types of flammable liquids commonly used at fire-fighting sites were selected and galvanized steel plates and sandwich panel steel plates were burned to measure changes in the composition with ED-XRF. The change in the composition of galvanized steel plate and sandwich panel steel plate due to the use of flammable liquid can be measured by ED-XRF to determine whether flammable liquid is used or not and the type of flammable liquid used in fire prevention can be determined.

This study was written on the basis of the occurrence of a fire in a vehicle in operation by vehicle hydraulic oil. The purpose of this study is to study the possibility of direct contact ignition of exhaust pipes due to high rotation and high load such as high speed operation due to leakage of hydraulic oil in the engine room during the operation of the vehicle, and to emphasize the reason why similar fire cases should be prevented, expertise of investigation of vehicle fires should be strengthened, and system improvement should be prepared through analysis and re-experiment of components and ignition points of the hydraulic oil in the steering system..

This study reconstructed the actual fire site to study the fire hazard caused by heat storage when using a combination of electric blanket and latex mattress. In addition, the combustion patterns and carbonization patterns of each batch were compared and analyzed in the event of a fire due to heat storage by differently arranging the electric blanket and latex mattress. As a result of the experiment, latex showed higher fire risk due to heat storage compared to general bedding. In addition, it was proved that the combustion and carbonization types were different when the order of the latex arrangement was different based on the electric blanket. Through the results of this study, fire-detection algorithm were drawn to reconstruct and restore the ignition mechanism and fire scene in the event of a fire caused by heat storage due to the use of a mix of electric blanket and latex.
