In this study, we focus on early detection of fire caused by 'flammable liquid', which is a source of fire, and securing of the 'Golden Hour' to collect and analyze evidences. An experiment was conducted by applying a certain amount of oil, thinner, gasoline, diesel and kerosene to be ignited artificially. Three methods of extinguishing the fire were used. The first was water, the second, fire extinguishers, and the third, natural extinguishing without any artificial extinguishing method. The reaction and detection of liquid residues were measured by a gas sampler and gas chromatography (GC/MS) over time after extinguishing the fire and collecting the evidences. The results confirm the possibility of extracting reactions with the gas sampler and GC/MS from the flammable evidences over time.

In this work, fire and explosion of DOTP(Dioctyl terephthalate) in batch proess has been studied. To evaluate the ignition possibility of powder was carried out to SEM(Scannig Electron Microscope), PSA(Par -ticle Size Analysis) and TGA (Thermo Gravimetric Analysis). Static electricity was measured in the environment similar to the accident scene, and compared it with the minimum ignition energy of terephthalic acid and octanol. As a result of the analysis, terephthalic acid particles were observed in various sizes of 0.19㎛~82.5㎛ and there was almost no weight loss (0.0001% reduction) even on 200℃. In addition, when the materials were added in the batch reactor, the generated static electricity was measured by 1.25mJ and the minimum ignition energy of terephthalic acid was measured at 10mJ~30mJ. Therefore it was found that fire and explosion was caused by initial ignition in the octanol vapor rather than terephthalic acid dust.

The purpose of this research is to reconstruct the fire case in manufacturing process of FRP (fiber- reinforced plastic) caused by contacting between heat of reaction of UPR(Unsaturated Polyester Resin) and MEK- PO(Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) and combustibles like Fe powder, paper box or textile that wet acetone. Through this, it will be confirmed risk of fire by heat of reaction mixed with combustibles and established safety standards for UPR and MEK-PO in industrial site. In addition, it will be established the point aim of investigating fire case caused by chemical materials.

This paper reproduces the possibility of accidents and electric fires in the magnetic contactor(MC) of the control panel installed for the temperature control of the freezing warehouse, the low temperature warehouse and the storage. In addition, I would like to present a method for analyzing the characteristics and causes of accidents that occur due to an under voltage applied to a MC or an abnormal operation due to a foreign substance being interrupted. The inside of the control panel is composed of a molded-case circuit breaker(MCCB), a magnetic contactor(MC), a timer, and a terminal board. The MC for compressor and the MC for compressor control are designed to operate sequentially. The deterioration of the MC is caused by undervoltage and overvoltage, physical shock or vibration, inflow of foreign substances such as cockroaches and insects, formation of water or moisture. In other words, the inflow of foreign matter breaks the balance of the electromagnetic field of the MC and interferes with the formation of the magnetic path, so that heat and vibration are continuously generated and the function of the contact point is deteriorated. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the ignition mechanism of MC and use it as fire detection data for the control panel for the refrigeration warehouse.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the cause of fire and to investigate the risk of general ignition of the small electric hot air fan using PTC thermistor, which is one kind of electric heater which is used for indoor heating in winter. The general characteristics of the PTC thermistor, which is a heating element in both normal operation and abnormal operation, is that the resistance increases as the temperature rises and the current is lowered while the temperature is lowered. The possibility of ignition due to overheating is low. However, conductive material such as moisture,When the bimetal surface, which is a heater and an overspeed prevention device, is contaminated, leakage current flows on the surface of the insulating material, and it is confirmed that sparks occur and lead to fire. In order to reduce the risk of ignition due to such contamination, it is required to design the product in consideration of the use environment, such as the use of a filter capable of minimizing the water and dust that may enter the electric hot air fan.

The adhesive is an indispensable material in assembling, manufacturing and packing process of all industrial products such as house, furniture and automobiles that people are always available. A synthetic rubber adhesive that makes up a bulk of the adhesive is consist of a mixture of organic solvents to dissolve base rubber material whereby the explosion by solvent vapors used to cause many casualties. So, the research carried out through the experiment looking for ways to reduce the explosive powers by organic solvents to come up with some proper countermeasures. The study analyzes the ingredients of organic solvents of the adhesive and identifies characteristics of substance(evaporating rate, explosive power, upper/lower explosive limit)

This Study confirmed the Polyvinyl Chloride Gas Hose’s physical characteristics and by the result of it, We developed the Fire Identification Method. As a result of the study, When Polyvinyl Chloride Gas Hose gets radiant heat(fire heat), the inside of hose contracts more then the outside of hose. Also, Shape of Polyvinyl Chloride Gas Hose falling off by fire heat(radiant heat) have different characteristics as that by cutting with scissors or knives. It can be used as a identification technique when investigation the fire scene. And To prevent a fire, We need to add a thermal change to the regulation item of Polyvinyl Chloride Gas Hose at Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
