In this study, we investigated the degradation characteristics of KIV, HIV, and HFIX cables according to the temperature and humidity by using accelerated temperature humidity testing method. In order to identify the degradation properties, cables were put into the oven with two different conditions, only temperature stress at 130oC, and temperature-humidity stress at 90oC with 45% RH. the changes in weight, thickness, char length and insulation resistance were measured. Although HFIX cables had weakness of moisture, the insignificant change in weight, length and insulation resistance were measured in the samples under the temperature-humidity stress condition. Therefore, extra experiments including the effects of external condition should proceed in the next research.

In this study, the fire risk of the stovepipe installed in the EPS panel was analyzed through the fire replay test. The fire risk of the stovepipe is well understood, and the installer had only vague speculation that the risk of fire would be lowered if the panel core was dug inside due to the risk of fire. Therefore, a demonstration experiment was conducted by installing a stovepipe line on the EPS panel and changing the angle of the panel from 0° to 30° in consideration of the installation angle of the residential firewood boiler. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the remnant of the core material and the adhesive material remained. In addition, it was confirmed that ignition at 392°C was performed through TGA analysis of heat-resistant silicon used during stovepipe installation. The stovepipe can be ignited by the heat-resistant silicon and the remnants of the core material and adhesive material generated inside the stovepipe by creosote. I could confirm that. Furthermore, through these research results, a better construction method was suggested to contribute to the reduction of fire damage.

Fires in underground communication tunnel lead to a major disaster in modern society. Combustible toxic gases are generated within long and narrow space, which block the oxygen supply and expand combustion rapidly. It’s difficult for the firefighter to enter the tunnel. In order to prevent the recurrence of such a disaster, an accurate determination of the fire origin, an analysis of the causes of the fire, and a corresponding preventive measure should be established. However, the burned out communication cable tunnel due to its complicated structure and difficulty in extinguishing is which fire patterns are destroyed or contaminated, making it difficult to determine the point of fire origin. In this study, KT Ahyeon Branch's communication fire case is analyzed. In burned communication tunnel where it is difficult to determine the point of origin through fire pattern, it was confirmed that fire spread verification using structural environmental conditions and simulation (FDS) can be the main basis for fire origin determination.

In the non-grounding method, the leakage current is not detected, and a small leakage current continues to flow in the enclosure of the electrical appliance and could be a cause of electric fire. In addition, in the case of alternating current, even if it is used without distinction between neutral and voltage lines, minute current leakage causes the minor clue of fire. For the safety porpose, periodic exchange of ground fault circuit interrupter and concent are required, and addition of ground fault circuit interrupter to the concent is necessary. Several electrical and structural methods of design are suggested to prevent the danger of fire.

This study is an experiment on ash caused by the growing use of wood fired boiler, especially in rural areas. Although ash from wood chip causes fire, enough researches are not done. Burning characteristics and the risk of ash ignition are analysed through the experiments. In addition, administrative standards and related statutes are proposed for the reprocessing of wood fired boiler. Also, the basic data for the fire investigation are provided.

There exist no safety regulations about gudle(Korean traditional floor heating system) construction at least. Since researches are only focused on thermal efficiency, peoples are exposed to the risk of fire. The research is studied how each the shape of agungi and thermal circulation status of gorae affects on the combustible material on the wall. Also, it was tested that how the use status of proper/inproper imatdol at top of hamsil would affect on the combustible material on the wall too. On the basis of derived risk, the study suggestes fire precautions with a guideline of fire safety standards on gudle constructions. Furthermore, it helps to establish a fire investigation manual that can be used by fire inspectors and propagate to academic associations and organizations to eliminate the risk of fire. Also, contribute to the safety design of gudle system is anticipated.

More and more households install gas range and electric induction range, and related fire accidents are gradually increased. 95.8% of electric range fire in DaeJeon is by mistake and 24.6% of them is due to the pets. According to the experiment for five different types of domestic animal, highlight type is activated 74% and induction type is 66%. Although there are many cases of electric range fires caused by pets, there is no research or experiment to prove it. The danger of highlight electric range of which the possibility of fire caused by pets is so high. One is on touch-type electric range operated by pets and the other one is a close-up placement of induction and highlight range to combustible materials.
