Image Quality Assessment with Saliency Map in Nonsubsampled Contourlet Transform Domain

Many researchers evaluate images by objective image quality assessments instead of subjective ones. Objective image quality assessment sets up mathematical model according to the human visual system, and it evaluates the image quality through the reference image and the distorted image. The Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) is one of the most classical methods in image quality assessment. However, SSIM has several inherent shortcomings. First, SSIM does not take spatial position, spatial frequency, or direction into account. Second, SSIM considers that different regions in an image have equal importance for overall image quality assessment. Third, it is unreasonable to use fixed parameters for various images. To overcome these shortcomings, we propose a new method of image quality assessment based on Nonsubsampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT). Firstly, NSCT is performed to decompose the image into a low-pass map and high-pass ones. Then, low-pass and high-pass maps are respectively assessed with different strategies. In addition, saliency map is added to describe the importance of different regions in an image. Last, we proposed an approach to calculate the adaptive parameters for various images. Experimental comparisons among five public benchmark databases demonstrate that the proposed method is better than other competing methods.
Applying Beamforming to LTE Base Station for Reducing Interference Impact and Saving Frequency

This paper assumes that Long Term Evolution (LTE) will be deployed in TV White Spaces (TVWSs). Beamforming is a technology that is applied to an LTE base station (BS) for reducing interference impact of LTE on DTV. A simulation method based on Monte Carlo is proposed to evaluate the interference probability in DTV receivers in the case of interference impact of LTE BS on DTV receiver. As per simulation results, the interference impact of LTE BS on DTV receiver is efficiently mitigated and the guard band remarkably reduced when LTE BS uses beamforming.
Resource Allocation of Two-relay Networks with Partially Differential Modulation

Relay networks enhance the system performance by creating cooperative diversity gain and extend communication range by relaying the received signal to other devices. In this paper, the performance of two-relay networks is analyzed by adopting decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol. The signaling scheme uses partially differential modulation which applies coherent modulation in source-relays links and differential modulation in relay-destination links. We first analyze the effect of relay location in the system performance. Based on this, we find the optimum relay selection which minimizes the symbol error rate (SER). Then, we explores the effect of energy allocation for the given relay location.
Research of Theme Statement Extraction for Chinese Literature Based on Lexical Chain

The paper proposes an extraction approach for short Chinese documents topic sentences based on lexical chains and context technology, with which narrative clues of documents are found out first. Multiple lexical chains are constructed subsequently before the extraction of a topic-information-rich one as the keyword sequence of topic sentences. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach covers information of documents to the greater extent, and that it avoids possible repetitive expression that is caused by different keyword sequences in expressing the same topic sentences. Therefore, it achieves an obviously better effect than the statistic approach.

Order processing system is the beginning and core part of distribution center operations, and efficient order processing operations can not only improve customer satisfaction but also reduce costs. Therefore, the trade-off analysis between order processing difficulty and quick response time, improving the handling capacity and efficiency while reducing order processing costs are regarded as two big challenges for e-commercial enterprise. Based on queuing model as well as some data collected from Jingdong, a Chinese E-commerce giant, this paper constructed a 3D simulation model by using Flexsim, aiming at solving the bottleneck of the whole system of E-commerce order processing. According to the simulation, the author gives two order processing optimization solution, service stations optimization and queuing optimization to solve the two challenges.

The development and customization of new products in crowdsourcing is an important crowdsourcing theory application issue. But as a new business model, there are usually low efficiency, poor effect in the process of enterprises, and in practical application and the combination of businesses. This paper proposes the generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN) theory in the modeling and performance analysis in crowdsourcing business model, and assesses effectively about the overall model’s time performance and operation efficiency, which has been verified and optimized by 24% in an example. This paper starts from crowdsourcing contest business model to optimize the process and the frame of crowdsourcing through quantitative analysis results, so as to provide a reference for the decision-making party of the business model.
Physical Training Gesture Recognition Using Wristwatch Wearable Devices

Lately, many companies have launched smart watch products with their own strong points, drawing consumers’ attention. A smart watch has changed our life and made it more convenient, offering some different experiences compared to existing smart phones. More importantly, health care using this device has increasingly been the subject of people’s attention and studies. Most of the existing studies have explored mobile devices and multiple sensors recognizing activities related to the routine such as walking, running, and going up and down the stairs. This study has focused on the use in physical training. We made a wearable device with some features of a smart watch, and studied how to make it recognize the activity the user is performing with the built-in accelometer and gyroscope. It is expected to be helpful for the individuals to manage their own exercise systematically and be practical in the health care industry.

Based on the powerful open interface of WeChat enterprise account features, a site investigation system is proposed for management of hydraulic engineering projects. The implemented functions include integrated photographing, GPS based positioning and information submission from handheld mobile devices. By leveraging cloud computing and mobile internet technologies, all the site investigation information is collected by designers on the unified mobile terminal including smart phones, tablets, and laptops. The proposed system provides various services, such as batch uploading, geological position mapping, data query and data downloading of the investigated information of specific hydraulic engineering project. Moreover, high level functions are realized through high-precision location based service, synchronous saving, resource sharing and quick search. Our system outperforms and changes the traditional working mode of site investigation of hydraulic engineering projects, as well as improves the working efficiency and accuracy for data collection in the whole life of the project management.
