In modern life, human–computer interaction has received the most interest from researchers, especially in developing new interaction methods. Microsoft’s Kinect sensor, which has integrated red-green-blue and depth (RGB+D) cameras, opens up new possibilities As well, many three-dimensional (3D) applications have been developed fashioning the computer world more natural and real for the user. In this paper, we propose and develop a 3D viewer application for heritage, which we call an HT3DViewer, using information received from the RGB+D camera of the Microsoft Kinect sensor. This viewer provides a hand gesture recognition library for users to control the object in the viewer by hands. Hand gestures are detected and defined using tracked information from the Kinect depth camera. The prototype of our hand gesture recognition library and 3D viewer application was built using the Microsoft Kinect software developer’s kit with C# programming language on the Microsoft .NET platform. Moreover, we investigate and select a simple and fast process to generate 3D models of heritage items from 2D images captured by cameras.

In Wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), new metrics are required in order to accurately measure and evaluate link quality of nodes residing along a routing path comprehensively considering end-to-end delay, throughput and radio interference. Moreover, it is important to develop a routing algorithm that can find an optimal path to meet a QoS requirement based on the metrics. This study presents a QoS routing method taking into account congestion, which is aimed at minimizing end-to-end delay and increasing throughput. With a use of congestion control technique and least cost-based routing mechanism, the proposed routing method increases packet transmission rate whereas it reduces packet loss and delay. Ultimately, it contributes to longer network lifetime of sensor networks, which could result to offering better reliability of the network.

The sparse linear method can reduce or expanse the solution range of integer programming problem by using former enumeration method lists all solution space, and then constraining them into a scale, after that picking up optimal solution form this scale. Calculation time will be reduced by using a revised integer programming model based on sparse linear, which can help reduce the number of solution space.

Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) has been the most significant area in the applications of Pattern recognition and Computer Vision for the last three decades. However, there are many open problems left unresolved. Among these, one of the current problems of CBIR is to obtain an effective Similarity Measure. The CBIR systems make use of Integrated Region Matching (IRM) to match segmented images which is computationally economic, but it is not a metric distance whereas systems that use Minimum Cost Region Matching (MiCRoM) as a similarity measure is a metric distance, but computationally expensive. In order to address the above problem, this paper has developed the Optimal Cost Region Matching (OCRM) similarity measure for region based image retrieval. The proposed OCRM uses the north-west corner rule of the Transportation problem that fulfills the monge property. The experiment carried out on 1000 color images taken from the Corel database that are compared with IRM, and MiCRoM similarity measures.

With the development of computer vision, mobile platform, and information technologies, there have been many mobile augmented reality applications, contents, and services. The technology of augmented reality has been developed to many application areas such as books, games, advertisements, and tour guide systems. However, most vision-based augmented reality applications have to train some physical objects patterns or paper markers before using it. If the physical objects for the applications are destroyed or damaged, users have to buy new objects or print them out again. To reduce the inconvenience, there has been developed technology that users take pictures of 2D makers what users want and superimpose content on it in real-time. In this paper, we present an application that superimposes 3D animal models living in tideland sequentially whenever users make image targets in real time. We implemented 3D models of 10 animals in tideland, and a mobile application to display the animals on smart phone.

Due to the avascular tumor growths were a complex activities that involved a chemical process and a physical process, a Finite Element Method (FEM) based mixture model was proposed in this paper. For the chemical process, the FEM was used to solve the reaction diffusion equations of three chemicals, which are the oxygen, glucose and GIF, under several specified boundary conditions. For the physical process, the FEM was used to solve the total energy equations which can be uniquely calculated as a function of the nodal displacements in the tumor. In each simulation step, we minimize the energy increment for all the tumor cells. The experiment results demonstrated that the proposed approach is quite efficient for the modeling of avascular tumor growth.

Today Signature is very popular authentication information. Here we try to hide this confidential information by Steganography. This security technique prevents discovery of the very existence of communication through digital media. In our proposed work the LSB replacement technique of Steganography is used. Here we able to increase imperceptibility as well as capacity of stego image by considering higher LSB layer for hiding the target data and replacing multiple bits.

The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) has been deployed worldwide for several years, but we are still confused about what we can do with IMS. Sponsored by Beijing Education Commission, we did some exploring study on IMS Service and also designed two lab experiments to help students to learn about the IMS. We focus on the development of two IMS services, Chat Room and Presence Service, on an IMS SIP Application Server. The architecture and the detailed design of the services are presented. These two experiments have been applied to the practical training course for undergraduate students.

Recently, different services are being introduced for the silver generation, but most are limited to providing information for older people and are insufficient in terms of functionality, ease of use, and diversity. In this paper seeks to study the design strategies of smart app interface for the smart silver generation born in the 70's. The proposed method intends to provide an optimized user interface by setting the icon size and spacing, font size color sound, and the psychological state in a five-step process. An optimized interface status value extracted from each step is applied directly to the interface of smart app. By using the results of this study, we can expect increased accessibility and usability for silver generation to use smart contents.
