In the case of the companies selected for noise measurement in this study, even though noise exposure in the workplace begins with noise management for large machines or high-output machines, they only manage to write reports on how much workers are exposed to noise for 8 hours a day. is focused on. When large machines are delivered, little information on noise received from the manufacturer is kept, and noise information indicated on design drawings is also difficult to find. History management of noise information of large machines is necessary. There is also a problem with the professionalism of managers who manage noise information. Like odors and fine dust, it is judged that noise needs to be managed by a professional manager at the workplace and managed through a database of noise information.

The tribology characteristics of the graphene coated PA6 were evaluated with scratch experiments. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. The PA6 of the graphene coating shows a 0.1 improvement in friction coefficient and a lower abrasion depth than PA6 in the variable pressure-type scratch experiments. PA6 of the graphene coating showed a lower friction coefficient of 0.2 or more than PA6 in the friction coefficient in the static pressure scratch experiments, indicating that wear resistance was improved. In both the variable and the static pressure type scratch experiments, the tip depth of graphene-coated PA6 shows a thinner wear depth than PA6, showing the effect of graphene. The graphene content showed excellent tribology characteristics at 3%, and there was no difference in tribology characteristics at higher contents.

This study aimed to grow single crystals with low dislocation density using a heat exchange method using room temperature water, and investigated the effect of the structure of the heat exchanger under the crucible on the defects and dislocation density of the single crystals and the shape of the solid-liquid interface of the crystals, and obtained the following conclusions. The dislocation density of sapphire single crystal grown at 2,200℃ for 30 min and a growth rate of 0.2℃/min was 0.92x103pcs/㎠. Mo guard was used to stabilize the solid-liquid interface grown from seeds, and sapphire single crystals with a diameter of 130㎜ and a height of 75㎜ were grown.

These models facilitate the development of a vehicle detection system calibrated for specific scenarios, making the detection of overloading and loading discrepancies more accessible. Such a system promises to streamline detection operations while substituting manual efforts with AI, thereby economizing on both time and resources.

Application areas of floating marine structure systems have been increased with the development of power generation systems using renewable energy. Hence it is necessary to analyze the behavior of these floating systems for efficient design and operation. In this study, a computational analysis was performed to predict the characteristics of mooring lines load variation connected to a floating marine structure with waves. Pressure on the floating body and mooring lines load were analyzed with wave direction and height. The floating body stability severely decreased for 90° of the wave incident direction, and maximum load of the mooring lines increased with the height. These results are expected to be applicable for optimal design of the marine floating system.

Decarbonization plays an important role in future energy systems for establishing a zero-carbon society. Hydrogen is believed to be a promising energy source that can be converted, stored, and utilized efficiently, leading to a broad range of possibilities for future applications. Hydrogen can be stored in various forms, including compressed gas, liquid hydrogen, hydrides, adsorbed hydrogen. Among these, liquid hydrogen has high gravimetric and volumetric hydrogen densities. There are a lot of previous studies on thermal behavior of MLI and VCS and optimization insulation system, but research on the insulation performance by varying the head shape of the tank has not been conducted. In this study, thermal-structural coupled analysis was conducted on the insulation system with VCS positioned between two layers of MLI for a liquid hydrogen storage tank. The analysis considered dome shapes (torispherical, circle, ellipses), and heat flux and temperature were derived from thermal analysis to predict insulation performance. Maximum equivalent stress and deformation were calculated from the structural analysis, and the optimal dome shape was proposed.

In this paper, a tidal power conversion system (PCS) using seawater level differences was presented.. To verify the presented PCS, an actual lab-scale tidal power generation system was constructed. In this study, a condensate drain valve was newly installed in the steam inlet pipe line of the soot blower to reduce the amount of condensate contained in the steam for the soot blower. When the economizer is inactive, the condensate drain valve on the soot blower steam inlet pipe line is always opened to drain the condensate. It is intended to reduce environmental pollution and improve economizer performance by reducing the water hammer that inevitably occurs in facilities using steam, and reducing the amount of condensate water generated during the shutdown of the soot blower and the release of soot containing condensate water into the atmosphere when removing soot.

Since ships are exposed to noise and vibration for a long time in seas isolated from land, the stress of workers is high, requiring studies on the improvement of the problem. In addition, the health of crew members on fishing vessels, unlike commercial ships, carrying out fishing activities is closely related to fishing performance. However, considering that most of IMO's guidelines apply to merchant ships, provisions should be made for vibration in accommodation areas of fishing vessels. Accordingly, this study, applying the revised ISO 20283-5:2016 standard and through experiment, investigated the vibration characteristics of the accommodation area for each operating conditions of a 1000-ton trawler fishing vessel. Within the scope of the study and the full-ahead mode, the vibration was highest in the engine control room (4.17mm/s) while the acceptable standard was satisfied sufficiently in all conditions. Application of the merchant vessel vibration standard to fishing vessel is expected to improve the working environment of fishing vessel crew members.

MCCI, one of the ex-vessel phenomena during a severe accident, is generally caused by mutual reactions between molten core and reactor building basemat concrete, but occurs between sacrificial materials made by concrete and corium in APR nuclear power plant with PECS applied. In this paper, MCCI analysis was performed to design and apply a device to block the core melt at the junction connected to the ICI cavity sump from the core catcher installed in the reactor cavity of the APR. Unlike the sacrificial material, which has a cooling effect by inducing erosion of the ex-vessel core melt, the device is composed of concrete applied as a barrier to protect the ICI cavity sump. The decent thickness of the barrier wall of the device was calculated.

In the case of a rear-wheel drive vehicle, a propeller shaft is installed to transmit the driving force of the engine. At this time, the propeller shaft is divided into 2 or 3 pipes, and the bearing is mounted on the vehicle body. And the end of the propeller shaft is connected to the rear differential and connected to the body through the chassis. Due to this complex structure, the propeller shaft must be highly balanced and the mounting angle must be well maintained. However, depending on the driving conditions of the car, various noise and vibration problems occur due to the aging of the parts and the propeller shaft. Hyundai Motor Company's maintenance center uses 'Noise Observer' to resolve various noise and vibration customer complaints. This paper describes the mechanism of vibration problems caused by unbalance of the propeller shaft and the diagnosis process using a 'Noise Observer'.

For the Floating Photovoltaic development project, economic analysis is conducted by predicting the amount of power generation in consideration of climate factors. Among the climate factors, the outside temperature increases the temperature of the module. As a result, the efficiency of the module is reduced. Due to global warming, the outside temperature is rising every year, when estimating the amount of power generation over the next 20 years, a more accurate prediction will be possible only when considering the temperature rise.

In this study, a high-resolution integrated real-time visualization device using surface plasmon resonance was designed and considered to overcome the measurement limitations of existing optical systems. For precise measurements, resonance angle and reflectivity were calculated using theoretical equations, and the designed surface plasmon resonance visualization system was verified by comparison with experimental values using a He-Ne laser. Surface information of the droplet was acquired using polarized, single-wavelength converted white light, and quantified through image processing. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that when light with a wavelength of 632.8 nm is incident on the Kretchmann structure prism-metal thin film-dielectric (air/water), it is not totally reflected at an angle above the critical angle and the reflectivity is rapidly reduced due to the surface plasmon resonance phenomenon. As a result of quantifying the image, it was confirmed that the droplet reflectivity was similar to the theoretical reflectivity at each resonance angle.

This study investigated the noise reduction effect according to the structure of the sound-absorption and insulating materials in order to maximize the noise reduction effect in various noise environments. For this purpose, the transmission loss according to the change in hole size of the performated plate in sound-absorption and insulating board was predicted using an CAE model. The sound-absorption and insulating board was modeled and the computation of the transmission loss was performed after applying the physical properties and boundary conditions. The pure sounds of 32Hz to 4,000Hz were generated, and the analysis was performed by changing the diameter and pitch of the perforated plate. It was confirmed that the influence of the diameter and pitch of the perforated plate is closely related to the structure that make up the sound-absorption and insulating material. In order to effectively reduce the variously changing noises, it is believed that a method of improving transmission loss for each frequency band of interest is needed by changing the structure of the sound-absorption and insulating material so that the diameter and pitch of the perforated plate can be changed.

Air blower has been widely used in many industrial fields such as wind tunnel and large ventilation systems. Its performance is affected by operating conditions and system geometry of inpeller and duct, and these design parameter optimization is essential for the effective development. CFD analysis is carried out to investigate the air flow field characteristics with outlet total pressure in a blower system. Intake air into the impeller blade through the inlet is compressed, and then gradually discharged from the outlet with ascending total pressure, and predicted results are compared with test data. Especially this overall pressure difference in the blower system severely depends on the flow rate. These results are expected to be used as applicable design data for blower performance improvement.

This study chiefly aims to clarify important items to establish design guidelines for the habitability of temporary housing. Though prevention of occurring disasters would be the best way, readiness for the protection of suffering psychological damage is essential to construct emergency shelters and temporary housing. Temporary housings until now have raised second psychological injury, due to the lack of community spaces between victims by the disasters. It is meaningful to make fundamental data for establishing design guidelines for the habitability of temporary housing through the advanced countries for the disaster protection.

In this study, we examined the effect of orifice diameter on atomization performance such as SMD(Sauter Mean Diameter), MMD(Mass median diameter), particle size distribution, spray distance, and spray angle when water was sprayed through a siphon nozzle. In addition, the behavior characteristics of spray were analyzed using the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) commercial program. In the downstream direction of the flow, the dispersion and diffusion power of the droplets increased, greatly improving atomization performance. The spray spread in the radial direction when the jet velocity of water increased. As a result, atomization performance improved as the jet velocity increased.

Liquified hydrogen is considered a new energy resource to replace conventional fossil fuels due to environmental regulations by the IMO. When building tank for the storage and transportation of liquified hydrogen, materials need to withstand temperatures of -253°C, which is even lower than that of LNG (-163°C). Austenitic stainless steel mainly used to build liquified hydrogen tank. When building the tanks, both the base material and welding zone need to have excellent strength in cryogenic condition, however, manual arc welding has several issues due to prolonged exposure of the base material to high temperatures. Laser welding, which has some benefits like short period of exposure time and decrease of thermal affected zone, is used many industries. In this study, laser bead on plate welding was conducted to determine the laser butt welding conditions for STS 304 and STS 316L steels. After the BOP test, cross-section observations were conducted to measure and compare four bead parameters. These tendency result of laser BOP test can be used as conditions laser butt welding of STS 304 and STS 316L steel.

Internal combustion engine is the main source of environmental pollutants and therefore advanced technology is required to reduce harmful elements from the exhaust gases all over the world. Especially, when the exhaust gas is released from the automotive muffler, exhaust noise has many bad influence on the surrounding environment. In order to reduce the exhaust noise, it is necessary that automotive muffler must be designed for best exhaust efficiency. The sound insulation room was installed for the analysis of an acoustics characteristics of the noise from automotive muffler, in this study. Exhaust gas noise, noise distribution characteristics, pressure and temperature of exhaust gas were investigated with the change of annulus temperature of air cooled annulus automotive muffler and cooled annulus automotive muffler. The following results were obtained with this study. From the frequency analysis of automotive muffler, high noise distribution was observed in the range 100~2000Hz. It means that the noise in this range has an dominate influence for the overall noise. Noise reduction of automotive muffler was affected by the temperature of annulus. It is caused the result that the high temperature and pressure of exhaust gas are changed lower by the drop of annulus temperature. The tendencies of noise, the temperature and pressure of exhaust gas are similar to the performance curve of engine. Exhaust gas pressure is determined by the r.p.m. of engine and affected by the cooling performance of automotive muffler.

The heat transfer characteristics of double-pipe spiral heat exchanger were investigated by various curvature sizes, experimentally. The three different sizes of heat exchanger were made and tested with water as a working fluid to analyze the heat transfer characteristics. The heat transfer rates, overall heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop were analyzed with various heat exchanger sizes (i.e., curvature ratios). As result, the heat transfer rate increased with increasing the size of the heat exchanger as the flow rate increased due to increasing the area size of heat transfer. However, the overall heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop increased with decreasing the heat exchanger size (i.e., increased curvature ratio) due to the enhanced centrifugal force and inertia.

With the mandatory implementation of ESC for trucks starting in 2023, domestic truck manufacturers in South Korea are advocating for a relaxation of the maximum safe slope angle to achieve cost savings. However, there is a lack of research on the dynamic safety of trucks based on ESC installation and the relaxation of the maximum safe slope angle. This study evaluates the relationship between static safety factor (SSF) and the maximum safe slope angle, analyzing the dynamic stability of trucks through simulation considering various experimental variables. The results quantitatively demonstrate the impact of relaxing the maximum safe slope angle on dynamic safety and provide recommendations for future safety regulations.

This study investigates the enhancement of surface precision and dimensional accuracy in STS 316L oval pipes through the application of magnetic abrasive finishing. The experiment involves the modification magnetic pole shapes(A, B, C, D) and a comprehensive analysis of their impact on surface quality. Key parameters include magnetic abrasive KX#320, iron powder, aluminum oxide, light oil, a test specimen rotating at 600rpm, and periodic injection of polishing liquid, a permanent magnet Nd-Fe-B, and magnetic pole steel 1018, reciprocating distance 20mm, and a feed rate 1mm/sec over a 32minutes duration with measurements every 4minutes. The results demonstrate significant variations in surface quality based on magnetic pole shape, with specific configurations demonstrating superior precision and smoothness from the initial surface 0.32μm to 0.06μm.

Power converter devices require a high level of quality because they have a high direct connection with vehicle operation. Therefore, structural bonding was carried out by friction stir welding with excellent mechanical properties. Friction stir welding can cause structural deflection depending on the load of the welding tool, so it is important to control this for high quality flatness. In this study, pre-welding was performed before welding to minimize deflection generated during welding. And deflection reduction data according to the location of pre-welding were analyzed through dynamic analysis. As a result, based on computerized data rather than experimental data an optimized position of pre-welding was secured to minimize the deflection that occurs during friction stir welding. Through this, a process guide that enables high quality structural bonding was presented.

In this study, a numerical analysis study was conducted on the flow characteristics according to the internal flow path change and differential pressure of the hydrogen shut-off valve, and through this, the pressure loss characteristics and flow coefficient of the hydrogen shut-off valve were predicted. ANSYS CFX program was used to predict the flow characteristics of the hydrogen shut-off valve. When the flow path gap was 1.3 mm, the design conditions of the hydrogen shut-off valve were satisfied, and the value of the flow coefficient of the valve was about 1.53. As the inlet pressure of the hydrogen shut-off valve increases, the outlet flow rate increases, but regardless of the inlet pressure, the flow coefficient of the valve is almost constant, ranging from 1.53 to 1.56, indicating that it is the inherent flow coefficient of the designed hydrogen shut-off valve.

This study investigates the utilization of existing CCTV networks for road traffic volume measurement, a key indicator of road infrastructure utility. Traditionally, traffic studies, which are costly and time-consuming, are divided into continuous or ad-hoc surveys. By leveraging current CCTV systems, the proposed method eliminates the need for new installations, conserving resources and increasing efficiency. Preliminary results indicate that this approach offers a time and cost-effective alternative for traffic assessments, with the potential to transform traditional survey techniques.

This study aimed to a sign device using quantum dot film. We synthesized quantum dots with an absolute quantum yield of more than 95% using the solution process method, coated the quantum dot film by mixing it with acrylate resin, made a sign device, and studied the improvement of visibility, and obtained the following conclusions. Quantum dots with absolute quantum yield of 97.63% at 535 nm and 97.85% at 615 nm were synthesized by doping InP with GaP and stacking ZnSe and ZnS composite shells. The synthesized quantum dots were mixed with acrylate syrup at a weight ratio of 10% to coat a film with a luminance uniformity of more than 95%, and the quantum dot film was attached to a luminous display with an insulation capacity of 500 V, an insulation resistance of 99.9 GΩ, and a luminance of 688.5 ㏅/㎠ at white region and 122.3 ㏅/㎠ at red region.

The parking gear is very important part of automotive because it is related to safety. Nonlinear gear groove of parking gear is used to enlarge the contact area between parking gear and pawl. The die has been widely applied for many industrial parts such as machine, automotive and so on. The purpose of this study is to investigate the stability of upper and lower dies by using numerical analysis. As the results, the lower die was weaker than the upper die in this study, and the lower die showed that it should be used within 500ton in terms of safety factor. Further the most weak point of lower die was low location in front of gear. Its minimum value of safety factor was 0.578 in case of 4000ton of press load, therefore, this weak point was needed to be reinforced.

In alignment with South Korea's “3020 Renewable Energy Expansion Plan,” this study focuses on the developing large-scale floating wind turbines. It addresses the challenges of increased size and cost in floating structures for wind turbines over 10MW. This paper details the preliminary design of a novel floating substructure utilizing composite materials(ie, EVA). Structural analysis was performed using ABAQUS, accounting for both typical and extreme wind conditions. Results from the analysis validate that the substructure design is adequately feasible for implementation.
