Purpose : The purpose of this study were to examine the degree of job duty importance and difficulty of nutrition teachers in elementary school and then to make their future duties and roles clearly. Methods : The duties of nutrition teachers were classified into four fields such as foodservice management, nutrition education, nutrition counseling and educational experience of Korean agricultural products, and then each field were divided into job duties and job tasks. The subjects was 139 dietitians at elementary schools in Dague and Kyungpook Province who appraised the degree of importance and difficulty of the above four job duties with the Likert 5-point scale through a questionnaire survey. Results : From the results of the survey, it was found that every dietitian had highly assessed the importance of the four job duties of nutrition teachers. In a survey of the degree of job duty importance and difficulty on the dietitians, subjects recognized the following such as haccp management in the field of foodservice management is of the most importance(4.30), and the personal management has the most difficulty (3.80). In the field of nutrition education, the work of establishment nutrition education plan is of the most importance(4.33), and the developing of nutrition education materials and programsn are the most difficulty (4.13). In the field of nutrition counselling, students of that than parents and teachers counselling is of the most importance (4.15) and the most difficulty (4.08). Finally, in the field of our agricultural products experience education, which of he work is the most importance(4.07), and difficulty (4.02). Conclusion : Therefore, it is judged that nutrition teachers in the future should not only have a foodservice management, as their main job duty, but also aid in constructing life-long health management system for students and teachers by conducting a nutrition education and counseling, and also exert their energies in the job duties of menu development and experience education utilizing our agricultural products.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of sex education on middle school boys' perception about obscene materials and self identity. Methods: This study was employed, using pretest-posttest of nonequivalent control group design. Data were collected from April 1st to May 14th, 2005. The subjects were recruited from two middle boys' school in Incheon which have similar class accomplishments and financial statues. Sampling method was used 70 students were assigned to experimental group and 74 students to control group. The 45 minutes sex education was given 4 times within 3 weeks to the experimental group. Four weeks later after education has finished, post test was done. The data were analyzed using Chi test, Fisher's exact test and t -test by SPSS. Results: The 1st hypothesis 'The experimental group which received sex education will have a higher score of perception about obscene materials than control group' was supported(t = 3.370, p = .001). The 2nd hypothesis 'The experimental group which received sex education will have a higher score about self identity than the control group' was supported(t = 1.997, p = .048). Conclusion: This study showed that sex education effectively helps middle school boys to have right perception about obscene materials and to promote self identity.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between internet addiction and stress coping behaviors among the 5th․6th graders Methods : there were 609 5th․6th graders from 13 school located in Jeongeup city and the data were collected from June 1-10, 2004. Research instrument to test internet addiction was 4-points summated scale composed of 20-items and the instrument to examine stress coping behaviors was also 4-points summated scale composed of 30-items. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, χ2-test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and multiple regression analysis using SPSS/PC 10.0. Results : The results were as follows: 1.The degree of internet addiction were 2.4% of addiction, 36.5% of addiction tendency and 61.1% of non-addiction. 2. In the relation between the degree of internet addiction and subscale stress coping behaviors, Internet addiction had significant positive correlation to the passive-avoiding coping (r= .202, p= .000) and aggressive coping(r= .233, p= .000). Multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of internet addiction was passive-avoiding coping. Aggressive coping and active coping had significant effects on internet addiction. These predictive variables of internet addiction explained 10.2% of variance. Conclusion : From the above findings, the authors concluded that it is necessary to develop a program for prevention of the internet addiction and education of stress coping behaviors can be recommended for prevention of the internet addiction.

인문계 여고생을 대상으로 한 체험적 흡연예방프로그램의 효과

Purpose : This was aimed to investigate the effects of empirical smoking prevention program on the knowledge of the harmfulness of smoking, attitude to smoking, smoking temptation among female high school students. Methods : This study used nonequivalent control group pre and post test design. The subjects were recruited from the first and second grade at the two girls' high schools located in Ulsan city, and randomly assigned to two groups(113 in the experimental group and 117 in the control). The intervention was both the events such as nonsmoking promulgation and experiential learning programs and student-oriented educational sessions(once a week for six weeks). Data was analyzed with X2 test, t-test and ANCOVA. Results : The mean knowledge was 12.5 for pretest and 13.7 for posttest in the experimental group, and 12.7 and 13.4 in the control group, retrospectively. The mean attitude was 71.0 for pretest and 72.2 for posttest in the experimental group, and 72.3 and 72.6 in the control group, retrospectively. The mean temptation was 15.0 for pretest and 14.7 for posttest in the experimental group, and 13.9 and 14.0 in the control group, retrospectively. There's no difference in the change of the knowledge of the harmfulness of smoking, attitude to smoking, smoking temptation between experimental and control groups. Conclusion : As the possible reasons, the subjects already had sufficient knowledge on the harmfulness of smoking, the research questionnaires were too plain to get any difference, the effect of intervention was too small to show a difference in such as short-term, and finally, there were many external factors. Hence, we recommend further studies with appropriate questionnaire for longer time.

일개 대학생의 건강증진 생활양식과 신체조성간의 관계 연구

Purporse : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between a health promoting lifestyle and body composition in university students. The study subjects were 194 university students who attended K-university located in Chungnam. Methods : The data was collected between March 2 and May 31, 2004. The instrument used for this study was the modified Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile(HPLP) developed by Walker, Sechrist, & Pender(1987). The body composition was measured by In Body 3.0, a Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer. The data was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program by t-test, ANOVA and pearson correlation coefficients. Results : The results of this study are as follows: 1) The scores of the Health Promoting Lifestyle(HPL) ranged from 79 to 170, with a mean score of 110(±15.8). The mean scores of sub-categorical HPL were self-actualization 31.8(±4.9), health responsibility 17.0(±4.0), exercise 8.3(±3.2), nutrition 15.4(±3.7), interpersonal relationships 20.3(±3.5) and stress management 17.2(±3.4). 2) The HPL according to the subjects' general characteristics had significant correlation to exercise amount(F=8.09, p<.01), drinking amount(F=6.56, p<.01), perceived health status(F=19.2, p<.01) and perceived health knowledge (F=15.9, p<.01). 3) The total HPL did not significantly correlate with any categories in body composition. The exercise area of sub-categorical HPL had significant positive correlation to height (r=.199, p<.01), weight(r=.181, p<.05) and soft lean mass(r=.257, p<.01), and negative correlation to percent body fat(r=-.255, p<.01) in body composition. Conclusion : The results suggest that the exercise area of sub-categorical HPL was an important variable for an exercise program's development such as nursing intervention for the health promotion of university students.

데이터 마이닝을 이용한 서울시교직원의 피로요인 탐색연구

Purpose : To identify general characteristics of school personnel with recent fatigue which was the most frequent symptom among subjective symptoms and to explore fatigue-related factors by evaluating physical and perceived health status, life style, and symptoms through data mining techniques. Methods : We collected a data of the 1,147(male 545, female 602) who were elementary, middle, or high school personnel, answered a questionnaire, and received physical examination in Seoul School Health Center from September to November in 2000. And we investigated the differences between fatigue group and non-fatigue group for demographic characteristics, physical health status, perceived health status, symptoms, and laboratory values by frequency, chi-square test, t-test, or simple logistic regression analysis by SAS package 8.1, and then selected significant variables as input variables of a decision tree analysis of CART model by SAS E-miner. Results : In general characteristics, the fatigue consisted of 41.1%(male 35.2%, female 46.4%) among 1,147 school personnel. In classical statistics, factors related with fatigue were female, lower means of systolic and diastolic pressure, young age, personnel in middle school, irregular eating habit, no exercise a week or less than 30minutes exercise a day, perception of unhealthy status, and subjective symptoms including short of breath at exercise. In simple logistic regression to examine the relationship between selected independent variables and fatigue as a dependent variable, the odds ratio of gender (female vs male) was 1.58 times, and young age ( 20s vs 60s) 20.67 times, and middle vs high school personnel 1.86 times. However, we mined combined several characteristics by SAS-E miner. In CART model, if health perception was healthy, and age was >= 37.5 years, the proportion of the fatigue was only 19.3%. but if health perception was not healthy and symptom was severe 'short of breath' during exercise and age was < 53.5 years, and BMI was >= 22.69, the proportion of the fatigue was up to 84.8%. Conclusions : The fatigue consisted of 41.1%(male 35.2%, female 46.4%). However, in data mining, if health perception was healthy and age was >= 37.5 years, the proportion of the fatigue was only 19.3%. but if health perception was not healthy and symptom was severe 'short of breath' during exercise and age was < 53.5 years, and BMI was >= 22.69, the proportion of the fatigue was up to 84.8%.
