Purpose: The authors used a meta-analysis approach to investigate the effects of exercise on gender-specific triglyceride (TG) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in obese adolescents. Methods: This study is a systematic review and meta-analysis study to confirm the effect of exercise intervention according to gender for obese adolescents. PICO were obese a adolescents, exercise intervention, comparative intervention (control and general group),TG and HDL-C. Results: The group of obese male adolescents showed a statistically significant decrease of 51.72 in TG (n=175, MD=-51.72; 95% CI -52.44 to -51.00).There was a statistically significant increase of 4.44 in HDL-C (n=175, MD=4.44; 95% CI 3.79 to 5.10) in the group of obese male adolescents. Conclusion: Triglyceride and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were analyzed to determine the effect of exercise interventions in obese adolescents according to gender differences. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the design of future exercise intervention studies, subjects, exercise methods, and intervention periods.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the happiness of otaku college students to that of non-otaku college students. Methods: Data were collected using structured questionnaires targeting college students who visited the S Fair, which displayed and promoted contents related to animation, figures, comics, music, entertainers, etc. A total of 236 college students were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analyses were carried out using SPSS 24.0. Results: As a result of the study, 71 students (30.1%) were otaku. The happiness score was 43.17±8.62 for otaku, and 40.21±10.44 for non-otaku. After controlling for significant covariates (age, major, economic status, job seeking stress, depression, life stress, social support, and self-esteem), otaku students had a significantly higher happiness score than non-otaku students (b=1.91, p=.043). Conclusion: It was found that otaku college students were happier than non-otaku students, even though the difference was not big. Therefore, this suggests that otaku activities may, to some extent, contribute to subjective mental health such as happines.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the factors influencing eating attitudes in female nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 121 university students in 2016. Data was collected using self reported questionnaires asking about circadian rhythm (Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire), daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale), sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index), and eating attitudes (Eating Attitudes Test-26). Stress resistance was measured with a brain quotient test. The data were analyzed with a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis and linear regression using SPSS 22.0. Results: Eating attitudes were associated with daytime sleepiness, sleep quality, and stress resistance of the right hemisphere. Among these, daytime sleepiness and sleep quality had a significant effect on eating attitudes. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that sleep should be taken into account when developing interventions for preventing eating disorders in female nursing students.

Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive research is to identify how stress from Covid-19, health beliefs, and social support of college students affect health prevention. Methods: The subjects of the study were 128 university students, excluding health major students, at one university in D City. The survey was conducted from August 1 to 31, 2020. The survey questionnaire consists of 8 items on stress from COVID-19, 12 items adapted from a health belief measurement tool, 12 items from a social support measurement tool, and 11 items adapted from a tool that measures health preventive behaviors. The collected data were analyzed using the hierarchical multiple regression analysis method with SPSS 26.0. Results: In model 1, stress from COVID-19 was statistically significant (β=-.403, p=.003). Model 2 added four health belief factors into Model 1. Stress (β=-.419, p<.001), perceived severity (β= -.193, p=.030), and perceived barriers (β=-.182, p=.009) were statistically significant. In model 3, stress (β=-.413, p<.001), perceived barriers (β=-.147, p=.034), and social support (β=.194, p=.011) were statistically significant. The regression equation was significant (F=15.395, p=<.001) and the model's explanatory power was 53.1%. Conclusion: The results show that when college students had a high degree of health beliefs about COVID-19, the degree of health preventive behaviors was proportionally high. To make them practice preventive health behaviors, it is necessary to develop infection control education programs to improve health beliefs.

Purpose: Adolescents are vulnerable to depression; however, many health policies for adolescents tend to target students in schools. This study aims to identify factors related to depression according to gender among adolescents who have ceased attending school either temporarily or permanently. Methods: The data were generated from the 5th Dropout Youth Panel Survey (2017), and this study included 318 students in the survey that had dropped out of school. The data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple linear regression to identify related factors in depression among the participants. The analyses were performed by SPSS 25.0 program. Results: The depression scores of the students who had ceased attending school were: 20.28±5.47 for boys; 21.23±5.88 for girls. Their depression scores are significantly associated with self-esteem (p<.001 for boys; p=.001 for girls) and social stigma (p=.002 for boys; p=.002 for girls). Among those, peer attachment (p=.050), community integration (p=.004), and community disorder (p<.001) were significantly associated with depression only in boys. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that strategies for managing depression in adolescents who have dropped out of school should address the differences in contributing factors according to gender. This study also suggests a basis for approaching such a strategy.
