Color information recognition methods based on the RGB color model, which is designed on the basis of static fuzzy inference rules, are being widely used at present. However, these methods have certain limitations because of the nature of the model used: detachment of human vision and limited choice of environment. In this paper, we propose a method based on the HSI model and a new inference process that resembles the human vision recognition process. This method allows the user to add, delete, or update inference rules. In our method, membership intervals are designed with sine and cosine functions in the H channel and trigonometric style functions in the S and I channels. The membership degree is computed via an interval merging process. Then, inference rules are applied to the result in order to infer the color information. Experimental results show that our method is more intuitive and ecient than that based on the RGB model.

This paper2 proposes a vehicle-based communication system using multicast mechanism for live-video service. The vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication network (VICON) in this paper is composed of buffered-retransmission/switching/handover/ multicast agent (BRSHMA), some smart-Aps (SAP) and a number of vehicles. The BRSHMA and the SAPs perform handover using mapping table and an IP control packet, respectively. The BRSHMA supports multicast mechanism to solve the deficiency of VICON network bandwidth, takes charge of retransmission for packet lost/error and can reduce service delay time. Also, it can reduce the load of server and manages switching operation for the live-video streams from the server. We confirm the proposed mechanism provides smooth handover without recon-nection to server and is added only a few bytes as overhead.

Reservoir regulation and operational decision-making construct an extremely complex process, which shows the apparent semi-structured or unstructured characteristics. It is difficult to use only mathematical models to describe, and the models must be constantly amended and combined with practical experience in a variety of regulation schemes. In addition, the implementation of the regulation decisions requires high timeliness and intuition to provide information for the decision-makers. In this paper, combined with the 3DGIS technique, the virtual simulation technology and the reservoir optimization regulating models, a three-dimensional simulation environment of reservoir regulation and operational management is established to simulate the dam gates, river flow, dam discharging flow, and so on. These simulations are built on the real-time data of dam gates, calculating data of reservoir regulation and artificial controlling data. Therefore, the front of the system establishes the three dimensional simulation environment of reservoir regulation for inputting data and displaying result, the back of the system carries out computing the mathematical model of reservoir regulation to realize the integration of “Visualization” and “Calculation”.

The DMZ Korean International Documentary Film Festival is a film festival held in the Korean DMZ, the only demilitarized zone in the world, and in the vicinity. DMZ is the only Demilitarized Zone in the world, where the reality of national division into North and South can be known. Cultural resources and context of DMZ are considered which is foundation of DMZ DOCS contents. The value of DMZ and the context of DMZ Docs presented in this study will contribute to discovery of diverse subject matters and values as well as planning and development of contents suitable for the ecological environment of the area.

We present an image processing algorithm that abstracts video and digital animation to produce 3D visual contents. Our algorithm prepares different projection matrices for both eyes and applies both matrices to produce the left image and right image for 3D contents. We also preserve the coherence between the both images by comparing them and modifying one image to the other image. We test our scheme for video and digital animation and produce 3D contents.

Human activities have been investigated and applied in various fields, such as context-aware computing, search engine, social network services, location-based services, automated visual surveillance, and multimodal human–computer interaction. However, the human activities in the review process of academic conferences have seldom been explored. There is no doubt that review process plays an important role in deciding whether a paper can be accepted or not. In this paper, we present our work to understand the review activities by analyzing the anonymized review data of two conferences (ACM SIGCOMM and UIC). The descriptive statistics and the data mining technology are adopted in the analysis. We got some interesting knowledge, which is significant for interpreting how the reviewers give their reviews in academic conferences, such as the relationships between the score, confidence and review length, and reviewer activity patterns.

With the development of 3D devices such as TV, monitors, and mobile phones, 3D display can support multiple viewpoints in the user's terminal. For these applications, higher coding efficiency for stored or transmitted data is significant, since the number of views has been increased with the technical development of 3D display. To adapt the coder to 2D and diverse views devices, it is important to support view scalability in 3DVC. In this paper, we propose a prediction structure of 3D video to support view scalability considering reliable performance in coding efficiency. In order to use correlation between color video and depth map, an inter-layer prediction structure in SVC is applied to 3DVC. It improves the coding efficiency of the additional depth map with supporting the view scalability. The experimental results show that the proposed prediction structure reduces the bitrates by 0.5~8.3% compared with the reference prediction structure, JMVC 8.5.

In order to realize the characteristics of the numerical control system including expandability and reconfigurability and to construct open CNC system platform with higher reliability, this paper established a component assembly model for numerical control system based on reliability. The numerical control system is divided into functional components which are relatively independent in logic. The numerical control system model is constructed based on the main evaluation indicator, the software reliability parameter of the numerical control system. The method is used in the interpolation module of the numerical control system with high requirement on timeliness. A solution is proposed based on improved particle swarm optimization (PSO), in which the rapid convergence of global optimal solution is guaranteed through flexible weighting method. According to the analytical result of the interpolation component assembly, a reliable and optimal open numerical control system can be constructed effectively and objectively based on the component assembly model in line with different evaluation indicator requirements.

Voice is an important tool to identify individuals. In recent years, the voice can determine personality, age, and health status as well as physical conditions such as height and stature. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm to determine whether when one is intoxicated by using the voice; characteristic parameters of the intoxicated voice signal were extracted by comparing the voices before and after drinking using several speech analysis methods. First, the change was observed in the body, glottis and vocal tract after drinking in order to examine the influence of drinking on phonation. In addition, differences of voice signals of a variety of the speakers were examined before and after drinking in order to find characteristic parameters for intoxicated voice signal that enable a judgment about whether or not one is drunk. The result of this study is expected to prevent drinking and driving, if applied to the development of the intoxication judgment system.
