Applied linguistics is and study of language. It's subjects are the usages of language which is closely related with human life, matters associated with language in real life, and to find solutions to these matters as well. This study consists of a consideration of what the Applied linguistics is and description of the matters of applied linguistics and a feature of this field of study.

In recent current of globalization of Korean, Korean language and education about Korea, there have been many contentions. I want to raise a counterargument for some of them by pragmatic language education. First, to spell international phonetics in Korean can get more practicability when used combined with IPA. Secondly, it is reasonable to accept a word of foreign origin because it is not effective otherwise. Thirdly, though there are skeptical opinions about lecturing in English in Korean universities, this seems to be practical expedient for globalization of Korean education. There follows discussions about other pragmatic instruments of language education like training teachers of Korean language, writing teaching materials, establishing Korean language school and e-learning contents development.

This study considered Korean movement in period of Japanese aggression, its influence on the period after the restoration of independence and preparation of the . It is focused mainly on the movement of Korean Language Society(Hangeul Research Society).

I have considered training of Korean instructor in respect of the need of supply and demand plan for Korean instructor inside and outside of country. The present condition, analysis and a reform measure are presented. Regulation of the existing law and plan with objective criterion are needed.

I considered precedent studies and educations of theory and practice in foreign language education in point of contrastive linguistics and analyze, consider as well similarity and difference between character, vocabulary and grammar of Korean and Japanese. By these I propose an effective teaching device for Korean language that leads to a trial for finding new possibility of Korean language education.

I have considered the Korean character sets used in North and South Korea, including unicode and analyzed their way to improvement accord with Korean features. It can be used all around from Korean as a minimal element of following a feature of initial sound, medial vowel, final consonant from ancient data. I presented a character set that can role as a medium for conversion.

It is beneficial to transcribe foreign language when used the principle of Hunminjeongeum, Korean script. In this study, examples for transcription of Tibetan conversation are mainly considered.

North/South Korean Trade Cooperation of IT industry is a promising field of industry where people can pursue common economic profit. Especially IT industry have less burden of political systems and through cooperation between both sides, spreading effects are expected. Thus this can give vitality of economic growth to North/South Korea. According to SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis, on that point of IT industry, it is an important task to supply South Korean high-tech and reduce the technical gap, because the technical standard of North korea is retarded. And it is desirable to build a long-term cooperation system through steady effort to complement technical, systematic gaps like unification of standard and criterion for National technique for details. Choosing a buffer zone for political tension between North/South Korea and creating a technical cooperative complex would be an alternative proposal.
