In recent years, many computer systems that are used for patient diagnostic and treatment purposes are being introduced within hospitals. Therefore, being in a position to manage the hospital entirely, efforts to integrate their own unique system into one have started. A system values humans and creates the surrounding atmosphere into one which maximizes the abilities of individuals. For this, a scientific integration management operation system is required. The type of system that is demanded due to this requirement is an ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) system. Lately, even the hospital industry is beginning to show interest in efficient administrative methods. To deliver more predominant medical services, hospitals are trying to introduce scientific administrative methods, whose superiority were proven in enterprises, to the operation system of the hospital organization. ERP values humans over systems, and within a superior system, emphasizes the efficiency of the organization. This sort of process does not just evaluate and manage the working abilities of individuals, but provides an advanced working environment that increases the abilities of members within the organization by fold. Therefore, this research estimates through questionnaires and introductive cases how the introduction of ERP may change the work of customers within hospitals such as the radiologic technology department, and how it may also change the environment of medical services, thus striving to create a radiologic technology department that will not fall behind the times.

Flat-panel detector(FPD) is the driving force for realizing the next gene ration of x-ray system. In this study, we developed amorphous selenium(a-Se) based flat-panel digital X-ray detector(DXD) for radiography. The prototype detector con sists of an amorphous selenium layer and a thin-film transistor(TFT) array. Com paring to other papersl)-4), optimiza don of amo rphous selenium and progress of evapo ration were similar. The pixel pitch of fabricated detector was 139신m, fill factor was 86%, and the size was 14*x8.5*. Hand and test bar pattern images were acquired. A high modulation transfer function(MTF) factor was obtained: 58% at 3.0 lp/mm.

Purpose : In a PACS(Picture Archiving Communications System) environment, which is a very important component in a digital medical environment, the compression of digital medical images is a necessary and effective feature. In a current system where JPEG is applied to the compression of medical images, this study is to examine effectiveness and suitability when the JPEG2000, a more advanced compression algorithm for still images, is applied to the compression of medical images. In this thesis, we attempt to address the compressibility for effective clinical usage when compressing medical images, applying the objectivization of clinical evaluation as a function of compressibility. In the experimental method, the compression was applied at a fixed rate using JPEG2000, and then the result was compared with compressed images by JPEG. Method : For the performance evaluation, we choose SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) measurement of an objective evaluation of definition and analyze a subjective evaluation by the ROCCReceiver Operating Characteristic) method, The results of the experiment showed that in the case of JPEG2000 there is hardly any distortion of images, even at high compression ratio( 100:1),while regarding noise, the SNR remains around about 40dB. which is also relatively high. Before reading by reference to evaluative materials concerning objective compressed images, it is impossible to apply high compression to images; however, after reading, this can be applied to images that have already existed for some time.

This thesis describes the effective interfacing methods of PACS Modality based on the system installation andoperating experiences. PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) is a system for medical image archiving and communication using large storage device and high-speed network. The standard communication protocol of PACS is DICONKDigital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) based on TCP/IP and point-to-point protocol. However, there are many Non-DICOM Modalities and DICOM Modalities having problems. First, we had interfaced almost modalities, Fuji CR, GE CT. MRI, Angio, Fluoro, Phillips Angio, Shimadzu Fluoro, Ultrasound PACS. with the main PACS in the Seoul S Hospital as large scale hospital. And we manipulated the intelligent image distribution and the CT, MRI Interfaces never experienced beforein the Anyang J Hospital and the Chungju C Hospital as mid or small scale hospital. Technically, we developed both the DICOM Interface and the Non-DICOM Interface. At the last, the DICOM Worklist and the DICOM Print Interface were implemented in the Seoul B Hospital, the Bucheon SJ Hospital and the Seoul K Hospital independently with PACS. The Oracle, Sybase and MS-SQL are used as database, and UNIX, Macintosh. MS Windows as operating systems. And the Visual C++ and UNIX C are the main programming tools. We have used UTP, coaxial and fiber optic cable under 10/100 mbps LAN for networking.
