Background : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of scan or spot(adapted to acupuncture point) in an affected part on subjects with si mple low back pain. Methods : 30 subjects with low back pain(LBP) who are in attendance at K -college, were divided into two groups(each 15 subjects) that sifting throug h Hendler questionnaire, Sasang Constitution and Digital Infrared Themograph ic Imaging(DITI). One group(15 subjects, control group) was treated with Sc an and another group(15 subjects, experimental group) was treated with Spo t to total 4weeks. Results : The results of this study were as follows. After the intervention, P rogressive resistance exercise according to the experiment period significantl y increased muscular strength in three groups(p<.05). 1. Done comparing the results of Hendler questionnaire and DITI, laser treatment appeared to be effective for low back pain. 2. Done comparing the results of control group(Scan) and experimental gr oup(Spot), showed that experimental group is more effective than control gr oup. 3. Sex, BMI index and Sasang Constitution by experiment period was no d ifference that keep in mind. Conclusion : 4 weeks of treatment showed that applying a laser beam to ac upuncture points was more effective than using it to a painful region.

Background: This study was conducted to investigate the symptom prevalence rate of performance-related musculoskeletal pain and therapy of professional women flute players. Methods: The study subjects were 88 professional women flute players in Korea. The symptom prevalence rate of musculoskeletal pain and related factors, including demographic factors, occupational factors, psychosocial factors, and the practice and performance-related behavior of 88 professional women flute players in Korea, were surveyed with a self-administered questionnaire. Results: 73.9% of the subjects had more than 10 years of playing experience. 80.6% of the flute players answered that they have a typical right and straight playing position; 80.6% of people believe they need correct playing posture. 81.8% of the subjects experience musculoskeletal playing-related pain. Due to the pain, 79.2% of people experience discomfort while they are playing. The main areas where they experience pain are in the right shoulder (21.4% of people) and in the left shoulder (17.3% of people). The causes of playing-related pain are the same playing posture for 37.0% of people, improper playing posture for 32.4% of people, and excessive exercise for 12.0% of the people. To relieve pain, participants mainly use self-management (45.8%), oriental medicine clinics or hospitals (26.7%), and Western-style clinics or hospitals (19.2%). The ways of self-treatment and self-management are stretching and exercise (38.9%), massage (22.8%), and relaxation (17.2%). In order to treat and manage playing-related pain themselves, 81.8% of participants answered that they need professional body posture correction and management education. The areas of professional training and education that participants desire are posture correction and body management (43.2%), stretching (29.7%), exercise therapy (20.0%), and meditation or breathing (7.1%). Conclusion: This study suggests that professional women flute players are a group that have a high risk of musculoskeletal pain. Performing art-related medical therapy might be helpful to prevent and provide therapy for musculoskeletal pain in professional women flute players.

Background: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the campus life, health prompting behaviors and body mass index(BMI) in university students. Methods: University students (N=267) were selected as usable data by convenience sampling method. Data was collected by Health Practice Index and campus life Scale. One-way ANOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis through SPSS 19.0 Version are applied for the analys of the data. Conclusion: First, it was showed that health prompting behaviors partially differed by BMI. Second, it was showed that campus life partially differed by BMI. Finally, the health prompting behaviors had partially positive and negative significant influence on campus life.

Objective: The study was conducted for early exercise therapy that has effectiveness on proprioceptive and pain scale in patients after undergoing total knee replacement. Methods: The participants were randomly divided into 2 group: early exercise therapy group(n=10), control group(n=10). To evaluated the effects of exercise, It was evaluated by using proprioceptive and VAS. The data was analysis using a paired t-test and independent t-test to determine the statistical significance. Results: The results of this study between proprioceptive and pain score in EETG had statistical significance difference rather than control group(p<0.05). Conclusion: So the result was suggested that EETG was effective to paitents who had total knee replacement with proprioceptive and pain score.

Purpose: This study aims to provide basic data for investigating when female nursing students experience depression to understand their experience of depression, and to explore measures to reduce depression. Method: Focus group was divided to four groups, four students each group. Interview was proceeded until data saturation. After recording interview with a recorder, the author analyzed in phenomenological methodology of Colaizzi. Result: Seven themes about female nursing students' experience of depression which cannot be easily overcome were drawn - ‘likely to go crazy due to not suited ’, ‘pressure of school record and physical pain’, ‘discouraged mood caused by practice’, ‘complaint and stress by excessive regulation’, ‘relationship between senior and junior causing hard time’, ‘misery of being neglected from peers,’ and ‘excessive attachment to outer appearance’. Conclusion: The author thinks that it is necessary to give continuous interest in not only on physical body of female nursing students but on their mental health.

Background : The purpose of this case report is to illustrate the use of con tinuous passive motion machines in the treatment of severe knee flexion contr actures by Psychotropic drugs Methods : The patient in our case study used continuous passive motion(C PM)machines after conventional methods of exercise failed. Results : He subsequently demonstrated a 55-degree, bilateral reduction in knee flexion contractures. Conclusion : This study demonstrated that CPM is effective in severe knee flexi on contractures by Psychotropic drugs.

Background : The purpose of this study was investigated for the effect of el ectrical stimulation and progressive resistance exercise(PRE) on the muscula r strength of lower extremity. Methods : This study was performed on normal 17 males and 22 females su bjects. They were divided into 3 groups(13 subjects per 1 group) using ran dom sampling and executed progressive resistance exercise, russian current stimulation, respectively. In order to compare the difference of muscular str ength, the subjects were measured for muscular strength before and after ap plying progressive resistance exercise, russian current stimulation. Muscular strength was examined using the WEMG-8. Results : The results of this study were as follows. After the intervention, P rogressive resistance exercise according to the experiment period significan-tly increased muscular strength in three groups(p<.05). After the intervention, Russian current stimulation according to the experi ment period significantly increased muscular strength in three groups(p<.05). Rather than applying each progressive resistance exercise and russian curr ent stimulation, It is to use both methods of two, there were many improve ments to increase muscle strength. After the intervention, phasic muscle was significantly increased than tonic muscle. Change of the maximum value of EMG on body mass index and gender ac cording to the experiment period was no difference(p>.05). Conclusion : Increase of the muscular strength of lower extremity was mor e effective than it applies respectively that do together progressive resistanc e exercise and russian current stimulation in normal adult.
