This paper proposes a multi-thread architecture-based Image Signal Processor (ISP). As the required image quality is gradually increasing in today’s society and the image processing algorithms are becoming more diversified, the burden of calculations in the main processor such as CPU is growing bigger. To solve these problems, an ISP was designed in order to reduce the burden on the main processor by applying the multi-thread architecture and applying various image processing algorithms, allowing a high performance processing. The proposed ISP has a multi-bank cache memory that can perform the multi-thread data and instructions with a hit-save-FIFO and latency hiding unit. The proposed ISP was verified with Virtex-7 FPGA and showed about 2.4 times higher processing speed compared to the conventional DSP.

The survival analysis examines life-time of an item or human being or an animal. For example, 1) employee satisfaction may lie in promotion in a particular company. 2) Similarly, medical researchers are keenly interested in survival of patients by giving an excellent treatment for dangerous diseases. 3) For engineering equipment’s, reliability, availability of a component or an item plays major role in one of the following replacement policy: i)Individual replacement of an item ii)Group replacement of items iii)both (i) and (ii), to be adopted for the smooth functioning of the system to avoid shut down in a manufacturing company. 4) Some specific examples in medicine are after giving chemotherapy for a particular cancer, the patient lives many years beyond of medical history. As an example, if we know a patient survives 60 months and is then censored, use is made of the fact that the patient lived during the first 60 months. After the time of censoring, the censored value is dropped from any survival calculations. Considering our example, we don’t know how much beyond 60 months the patient survived, so this data is not used in calculating the survival function beyond that point. In this way survival analysis makes use of censored data. In both survival tables and plots, censored events are noted. In this paper, we wish to build prediction model for the survival of a particular item or human being. We use Kaplan-Meir Method (KMM) to study the same.

Meta-analysis is a statistical integration method that delivers an opportunity to overview the entire result of integrating and analyzing many quantitative research results. Meta-analysis is sometimes expressed as an analysis of another analysis. Commonly, factors of metabolic syndrome can be defined as abdominal obesity, high triglycerides, low high density lipoprotein cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, and elevated fasting glucose. This study will find meaningful mediator variables for criterion variables that affect before and after the metabolic syndrome studies, on the basis of the results of a meta-analysis. We reviewed a total of 15 studies related to metabolic syndrome published in Korea between 1998 and 2016, where a cause and effect relationship is established between variables that are specified in the conceptual model of this study. The result of this meta-analysis, the path between pre and post in the fasting blood glucose showed the biggest effect size (r = -.669). Therefore, the effect of the dietary intervention for the fasting blood glucose shows an explanatory power of 45%. The second biggest effect size (r = -.302) was found in the path between pre and post in the systolic blood pressure. The third biggest effect size (r = -.264) was reported in the path between pre and post in the triglyceride. Also, one of the smallest effect size (r = -.114) was obtained in the path between pre and post in the diastolic blood pressure. Thus, we present the theoretical and practical implications of these results.

Digital image processing is used widely and in various fields, and noise occurs for various external reasons such as channel transmission error. Generally, mixed noise is the mixture of salt and pepper noise and Gaussian noise, and the existing methods have insufficient noise removal features due to the limitation of filters. So this paper proposed an algorithm to use noise density of a local mask in order to remove mixed noise effectively. The simulation results showed the proposed algorithm had greater noise removal functions and energy conservation features compared to existing methods.

Mobile devices are different from desktop based systems in terms of particular execution environment, limited resources, small size and high mobility requirement. Various agile based methodologies are developed for mobile applications such as Mobile-D, Scrum, and MASAM etc. These methodologies are used in building mobile apps. Some of web engineering models or methodologies such as WebE, OOHDM and WebML are also used for developing web apps. But these methodologies are used only for designing web apps but not for mobile apps. These web and mobile apps development models don’t provide structured and semantic representation of data. They don’t provide knowledge of a set of concepts which are relationally arranged with each other. Due to this representation of a particular data is not structured and hence the efficiency of its retrieval is ineffective. These mobile app development methodologies retrieve information from semantic web resources. But they are not concerned with semantic design of data for a mobile native app. Using ontology, data and their properties are arranged and organized in terms of classes, subclasses and object properties. For this propose, Web otology language (OWL) is used for modelling the classes, their subclasses and object properties. OWL DL provides various class axioms and property axioms for modelling data in a structured and semantic manner. The aim of this paper is to develop a model based approach that takes three main components in 3D approach such as context, generic ontology and developments phases for designing mobile application in a semantic way. Depending upon the semantic design, the mobile app will be developed so the user can get meaningful data. This paper also validates the entire 3D model using hypothesis testing against

One of popular approaches to coding at primary and secondary levels is recently based on an educational programming language like Scratch or Entry consisting of block instructions. It is possible for learners to not only understand easily the language but also improve coding abilities in the aspects of computational thinking and creativity, compared with general-purpose programming languages. However, there has been little research on how to learn or teach the coding, even if the coding education of using an educational programming language is just growing up. In particular, there have little cases of applying a pair programming scheme to an educational programming language education, which has been widely used in the existing programming education or software development process. An educational programming language, which has the set of block instructions, is simple in the viewpoint of syntax and possible to write a code within a short time. Therefore, it is easy to apply an instant pair programming scheme due to less tricky work for the cooperation between a pair of programmers, compared with a general-purpose programming language. In this paper, we focus on reflecting the characteristics of an educational programming language and having the advantages of pair programming. We propose how to apply an effective pair programming scheme to coding education. To learn block instructions of Entry educational programming language as well as improve coding abilities, we design a novel pair programming scheme that provides collaborative and competitive mode between a pair of programmers focusing on the secondary school students. We seek to learn all block instructions with minimized pair programming steps as far as possible. We expect that our approach will contribute to reducing coding difficulty and learning coding skills from each other through collaboration between coding learners.

More and more enterprises are switching over to Machine learning applications to improve their analyzing and predicting capabilities of their business. In this paper we propose a new outlook towards utility computing where public services can be view as a business. A public service can be better delivered by viewing it as a business model rather than a service model. The demand supply can be better analyzed and predicted by our model. This paper is about using efficient mining techniques on real time smart meter data for any utility like water, power or gas etc. The parameters that smart meters provide from time to time over a network can give us real time readings of the consumption which in itself adds enough intelligence to the service. Now by applying temporal mining techniques on this smart meter data we attempt to show how the Business intelligence can be improved by data analysis and analytics. Though there is an opposition from some point of views that smart meters are hazardous to health due to its RF technology we can only improve utility computing by smarter data so that the service in efficient and effective.

Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE) research is an important emerging area of Software Engineering (SE) that supports and enhances evolution of reusable components useful for creation of software solutions. CBSE has assumptions that components exist in repositories, but this is usually not the case. That is, components are in want. The aim of this work is to design and build generic software components for student management system domain using object oriented methods. Analysis of major school management system functions, data and behaviours was done. Also, pattern-based domain engineering was conducted so as to identify structure points. This led to factoring out generically reusable components. Student management system components were created for implementation using a general-purpose distributed Component-Based Software Development technology model. Consequently, a framework for implementing student management system and related systems was provided. This would contribute to the body of the emerging CBSE practices.

Statechart diagram models the dynamic nature of a system used for defining different states of an object during its lifetime. States change by events, so statechart diagrams are useful to model a system that reacts to certain events. The industrial robot software application that controls movements of an industrial robot, a kind of reactive systems should provide well-designed state control. In addition, the hardware devices of an industrial robot currently on offer are frequently changed, and the changes on hardware devices require changes on the parts of the relevant industrial robot software application that control the movements. The industrial robot software application thus should be modifiable, so that it can be adapted to fulfill various needs of industries. To tackle these problems, this paper proposes a state control technique using statechart diagram and observer pattern applied to developing an industrial robot software application. Through applying the observer pattern according to state control information captured using statechart diagram, maintainability and reusability of an industrial robot software application were improved.

Tracking humans in complex surroundings is a very vital, exciting and red-hot topic since last few decades. There are lots of opinions and approaches proposed and developed by different researchers to prove that their methodology is comparatively superior to others. Human activity can be tracked based on the appropriate motion of human being. This motion is segregated into two categories as global motion and limb motion. We assumed that human may carry something with him or her. However, to apply our method everything is considered as object in our proposed model. The objects are being tracked, segmented and subsequently are being classified. The global-parts of this human motion approach (HMA) are being tracked by using ellipsoid shape of human models. However, based on the tracked object we tried to establish the performance of matching and recognition of human object methods (HOM). Here we have considered interest-points as a tracking parameter of the associated image descriptor. The interest-points measured in scale based on the shape of span-space of tracked-image-object (TIO) and they should fall into one of the category (global motion or limb motion). In this paper we propose the way to detect and identify interest-points by using generalized detectors. Subsequently we shall build sparse-matrix set of interest-points to compute image descriptors for human-image-matching (HIM). To detect the scale of interest-points based on span-space; however, we have used sophisticated statistical and mathematical approaches so that we can get more accurate experimental results. Our experimental results show that it is successfully applied in case of small number of people moving together accompanied by occlusion and shadow or reflection effect. However we have also tried to implement the different modes of human activity (e.g., standing, playing, talking, walking, running, etc.). There are some constraints for model of camera and the assumptions required for geometric shape of ground plane. Robust results show the superiority of our applied methodology.

Virtual Globes, a tool for visualizing and sharing global spatial data on a three-dimensional (3D) space using an intuitive interface and simple markup language, is widely used as a visualization platform in geography and climate and environmental sciences. This study presents a representation method for realistic visualization of global meteorological phenomena on a webpage. Specifically, we designed and implemented a method for automatically publishing satellite data or meteorological predictions estimated from numeric models using keyhole markup language (KML) and created an animated visualization of data on Asian Dust and a typhoon, which are frequently observed in Korea, on Google Earth using the method. As the method allows users to intuitively understand temporal and spatial change patterns of meteorological phenomena, and interact with the visualized data, we expect it to be utilized as a data analytic tool for researchers and an informational and educational tool for the public.

The block-based programming tool is used widely for the beginner and provides several positive features compare than text-based programming language tools. To measure quality of programming code elaborately which is based script language, it is need to very tough manual process. As a result the previously research related with evaluation of block-based script code has been focused very simple methods in which normalize the number of blocks used which is related with programming concept. This study proposes the framework that can measure the quality of block-based programming script, and can analyze the level of vulnerability. At the framework, the quality metric conceptualize various programming concepts contained in block-based programming languages. In this framework, the quality metrics is constructed to structuralize implicit programming concept and then developed the quality measure and vulnerability model of script to improve level of programming. Consequently, the proposed methods enable to check of level of programming and predict the heuristic target level. The proposed method in this study was applied to the scripts derived from the scratch programming classes in Universities of Education during the last 7 years, so as to confirm the differentiation from the preceding evaluation model and studies and to verify the usefulness and superiority of the proposed model.

In recent times, and in order to maintain an integrated, efficient and homogeneous policy, Integrated Management Systems (IMS) have emerged as an opportunity to improve processes related to Information Technology (IT) in organizations in a way that is modular, consistent and orderly. The ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 standards provide good practices for creating and/or strengthening management infrastructure whose purpose is information security and IT services. In an attempt to provide information on how these standards are related, as well as to facilitate their integration under a single IMS, this article presents the harmonization strategy and results of the harmonization of standards ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 in an organization. The work thereby supports organizations which are interested in knowing how to carry out the harmonization of these models. It also provides a detailed analysis of their similarities and differences, showing an example of how to carry out the integration of related practices between ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-2. In addition, some benefits achieved by the organization are presented.
