Mobility Management Framework in Software Defined Networks

There have been quite a number of approaches for mobility management in IP networks to provide service continuity to mobile nodes traveling across heterogeneous wireless networks. One of the reasons making those existing approaches difficult to be applied into real network environment is that they commonly require significant functional updates on network devices including routers, control servers and mobile terminals. The complexity to manage huge mobility information and much overhead to exchange mobility control messages also became obstacles to deploy those approaches. Recently, software defined networking is being considered as a dynamic and scalable architecture which can resolve those limitations by decoupling network control and data forwarding functions, and enabling the network control to become directly programmable in a centralized manner. In this paper, we address some issues and possible solutions to introduce a well-known IP mobility management approach, PMIPv6, into software defined networks. A feasible MM framework is also proposed with consideration of efficiently utilizing the features and advantages of the software defined networking architecture.

Visibility in search engines is a competitive advantage of commercial websites. In this context, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques are devised to enhance the ranking of websites in search engine results. The existing approaches toward SEO are primarily modifying the content or the structure of websites during the post-development activities. These modifications can introduce new defects to the websites. To tackle this problem, we have proposed caring for visibility in the requirements of commercial websites. We further contribute a goal-based framework for modeling and description of visibility in requirement engineering phase. The framework lays a foundation for automated analysis of visibility in commercial websites.

Improved Methodology for Mobile Commerce Applications

Agile based development methodology for mobile commerce applications (ADMMC), which is based on agile development framework, contains integration of essential factors in each phase of systems development life cycle of mobile commerce applications as well as guidelines to follow for conducting activities in the application development, including specific models, tools, and techniques. This paper aims to present the evaluation of ADMMC which assess its applicability and practicality. In this evaluation approach, a mobile commerce application prototype were implemented by the two teams of developers, the first team used ADMMC while another team used the traditional waterfall development. The evaluation results showed two essential outcomes. Firstly, it was found that ADMMC is applicable as it can be used to create the intended system, mobile commerce applications in this case. Secondly, it showed that ADMMC is practical as when comparing to the traditional waterfall development by using the 11 measurements specified, it exposed more benefits to the development process.

Drawing upon Kano’s three factor model of customer satisfaction, this research investigates the differentiated influences of beliefs on negative and positive attitudes that lead to the intention of using the upgraded version of package software. Particularly, we are interested in MS-Office that takes up the status of de facto standard in the office automation software market but has rarely attracted the attention of academia. Our focus is on how users come to move to the new upgraded version of the package software that they are almost accustomed to use through previous versions. We find that result demonstrability enhance all the three beliefs (i.e., basic, performance, and excitement factors), meanwhile trialability and social influence demonstrate the mixed-up impacts on these three beliefs. We also found that all these three factors lead to both the negative and positive attitudes unexpectedly from our hypotheses. Meanwhile, we found that positive aspect route starting from compatibility to relative advantage to positive attitude has dominant influence on use intention than the negative aspect does.

The developments of information technology and hardware devices have expedited the information society and changed the IT paradigm. From PC to internet to mobile and to smart era, the change of paradigm has expanded the ubiquitous mobile platform. The exchange of data and information recording through mobile devices has become possible at anywhere, anytime. This paper focuses on the effective application of electronic commerce which highly relies on the data’s reliability and importance to mobile application platform. It also proposes effective use of the uniform mobile e-marketplace system model through analyzing electronic commerce process and its problems.

Privacy is considered now a key differentiator in electronic commerce, and it is vital for building and maintaining customer’s loyalty. Since online transactions involve many uncertainties for the customer and most of the Internet banking offers the same product as the other competitor, it is crucial for banks to recognize the key factor that can tie their existing customer become a loyal customer and change the web surfers into purchaser as well which are critical to increase the business and its profits. This paper attempts to evaluate whether privacy issues are the major obstacles to the growth of e-commerce in Jordan. A survey conducted for the study reveals that privacy issues are major barriers to Internet banking and e-commerce activities among consumers.

A Study of the Effect of Production Volume on the Wholesale Price of Apple

At the micro perspectives, many studies have identified total shipment quantity, wholesale price at previous day, national holiday effect, as the variables affecting the wholesale price level of stored apple. However, the report of production volume effect at a given year on wholesale price level from the point of macro perspectives in practice, especially in agricultural industry, has been relatively rare. The researchers aimed to try to fill this gap by developing an integrated forecasting model of daily wholesale price with macro and micro variables for a shipment timing support system for stored The result of this study shows that annual apple yield has an impact on daily pricing of apples for the wholesale market. This study contributes to the daily price forecasting modeling with an empirical result that macro variable such as accumulated shipments needs to be included in the STSS modeling.

Modularization is an essential part of a software program that ensures software maintainability. However, object oriented programs still can’t achieve the higher level modularization since it still contain extensive amount of crosscutting concerns. Crosscutting concerns refer to common functionality that does exist in software programs. Separation of concern (SoC) is essential elements of aspect oriented paradigm whereby it has viewed as a way to modularize the existing object oriented programs. Since there are various crosscutting concerns exist, the SoC from base functionality become tedious process. In fact, the process of identifying crosscutting concern for legacy system notably difficult and time consuming. Moreover, crosscutting concern generalization hard to be achieved due to it contain more domain specific concerns. This triggers a need for a literature survey in which it collect and review articles which indicate the usage of crosscutting concerns that exist in software programs in regards of domains. There are five main domains has been specifically retrieved from previous studies. The outcome of the evidence based survey grouped as a domain library which known as Crosscutting Concern Domain Library Listing (CCDLL). CCDLL emphasize on the usage to software practitioner in order to collectively reuse the crosscutting concerns with regards to the domains.

Collaborative learning is an educational method that focuses on exchanging opinions between students and incubating self-directed problem-solving ability. However, developing content for collaborative learning has progressed slowly in the educational environment because most research on educational content has been restricted to theoretical studies and the methods for organizing student groups. More expansive research is required to develop methods for vitalizing collaboration between students and for supporting communicating between groups in order to induce collaborative learning. The present study aims to design a collaborative learning content by apply the storytelling technique, and to suggest and implement the method for individuals by increasing the concentration on collaborative activity. Therefore, we analyze and apply The Hero’s Journey, which has been the archetype of hero stories. Each individual follows a journey that contains sequences such as becoming a hero, gaining guidance from a wise mentor, cooperating with an assistant, defeating an antagonist’s conspiracy, overcoming ordeals and finally achieving the learning purpose.

To reduce over head for mobile adhoc network, Adhoc on demand distance vector routing protocol is designed by the usage of Expanding Ring Search technique. In this MANET energy consumption is also considered due to the battery usage of nodes. In this paper, based on ERS we proposed an energy efficient route discover process for AODV. Our approach is to save the energy of the nodes by avoiding redundant rebroadcasting of the route request packet. Based on the broadcasting of RREQ packet of the node neighbors, the relaying status of the node is decided which helps in reducing route overhead that occurred during the discovery of route process. Using NS2 the simulations are performed to study the performance of Energy Efficient AODV (E2AODV).

This paper proposes a design of a Patient-customized Healthcare System based on the Hadoop with Text Mining (PHSHT) for an efficient Disease Management and Prediction. The PHSHT consists of a Medical Data Collection Module (MDCM), a Text Mining based Hadoop Module (TMHM), a Disease Rules Creation Module (DRCM), and a Disease Management and Prediction Module (DMPM). The MDCM stores the big data like healthcare and medical information in the Hbase. The TMHM converts the unstructured data collected by MDCM to the structured data and stores the result in the Hbase. The DRCM generates disease rules by using the Conditional Probability Set Theory (CPST) proposed in this paper and stores them in the Hbase. The DMPM not only provides an efficient patient-customized medical service and information by comparing the disease rules generated by the DRCM with a patient’s information, a patient’s current status, and family history but also predicts a patient’s disease according to his health status. In particular, because the CPST generates the disease rules by complementing the problems of an existing C4.5 algorithm which does not consider the relation between attributes, this paper guarantees that it excels the C4.5 algorithm.

Speech recognition, the problem of performance degradation is the difference between the model training and recognition environments. Silence features normalized using the method as a way to reduce the inconsistency of such an environment. Silence features normalized way of existing in the low signal-to-noise ratio. Increase the energy level of the silence interval for speech and non-speech classification accuracy due to the falling. There is a problem in the recognition performance is degraded. This paper proposed a robust speech detection method in noisy environments using a SFN(silence feature normalization) and SEM(speech energy maximize). In the high signal-to-noise ratio for the proposed method was used to maximize the characteristics receive less characterized the effects of noise by the speech energy. Cepstral feature distribution of speech and non-speech characteristics in the low signal-to-noise ratio and improves the recognition performance. Result of the recognition experiment, recognition performance improved compared to the conventional method.

Multi-Directional Upsampling for Multiple Channel Images

In this paper, we propose a multi direction color interpolation method for multiple channel images. The proposed gradient judgment method silences the mediocre color interpolation artifacts. We adopted various weights from different directional gradients for conducting adaptive directional interpolation. The proposed weights are computed using correlation and intensity differences. The obtained weights are used for determining final interpolated results. Simulation results prove that the proposed method gives good performance in test set.

Regardless that the classic buffer overflow is a known and simple threat against software systems; security agencies still consider this threat as one of the most common software vulnerabilities. Aiming to increasing security resistance against this software threat, emphasize on software design phase is highly reasonable where cost and time required for fixing error in design level is several times lesser than coding or implementation levels. In this purpose, we use the Attack-based security analysis model for tracking and mitigating the classic buffer overflow during the software design phase. Through this model, we use known properties and behaviors of the buffer overflow to determine system vulnerabilities and address required security aspects. In this paper, we describe how to apply the Attack-based security analysis model for increasing security resistance against the classic buffer overflow. The main contribution of this work refers to showing capability of the Attack-based security analysis model in tracking and mitigating the classic buffer overflow into the software design phase in such a way that additional cost and time are not required for system analyzing and defining threat scenario.

Information System impacts on Korean pig farm : productivity gain and its determinants

Korean pig farms face challenges from free trade environment. Many farms have adopted Information System to improve the productivity on the farm. This study applies statistical analysis to verify the productivity gain and its determinants by using information system on the pig farm. Using the farm level weekly data from the PigPlan from 2006 to 2012, we find productivity gain on the farm increases gradually after adoption of the IS on the farm. We also find time of IS usage, the size of farm, farrowing rate, and total piglet per litter link to the productivity gains.

The management information systems (MIS) research and its significant contribution towards small and medium enterprises (SMEs) improvement is analysed via sustainability. Corporate sustainability along with its business significance is highlighted from new entrepreneur perspective. SMEs and their susceptibility in this modern era with sustainability, call it sustainable SMEs (SSMEs) is addressed. SMEs and their opportunity to work with large-scale organization with the help of computer based systems is highlighted. Finally presents an insight of MIS research towards SSMEs.
