The heresy group ‘Shin-chun-ji’(translated to ‘New heaven and earth’) has become one of the biggest problems in the Korean Church. They (Shin-chun-ji) advocate their own focus on the Bible itself, more so than any other heretical groups, which is the very reason we should focus on proper interpretation of the Bible when we try to argue against their beliefs. By strongly emphasizing that their way of interpreting the Bible is the only correct one, they are causing confusion among Christians in Korea. Shinchunji presupposes that the Bible is simply a ‘figure of speech.’ They further argue that the very fact the Bible is ‘figure of speech’ means that there are meanings within the Bible that is enveloped which again presupposes a need for a certain person who will be the one and only person to unlock the truth of the Bible. And in line with such argument, they conclude Manhee Lee is that the very person. Such ‘facts’, however, are solely their own arguments that is grounded in no evidence what so ever. The way they interpret the Bible, which is sometimes referred to as ‘the metaphor interpretations in making pair’, is worse than the very worst case of allegorical interpretation, and furthermore can prove to be not only dangerous but nonsensical. In other words, what they are doing is not a method of biblical interpretation, but is a way of distorting the Bible. The current study is a full-fledged criticism on the arbitrary interpretation method of ‘shinchunji” heresy, furthermore suggests methods for how preachers should deal with and confront such heretical arguments in the preaching contexts.

After the dramatic church growth period during 80th, contemporary Korean churches and Christian peoples are paying attention to the mystical movement such as, contemplative prayer movement or mystical healing ministry. An important purpose of mysticism is to seek Godhuman unification by the deep enlightenment or mystical experience. This article seeks to analyse the historical background of the contemporary mystical movement from the ancient Greek philosophy and Judaic apocalypticism. Ascetic monastery movement of the ancient eastern church had opened the gate through which the ancient Greek mystical philosophy entered into the ancient Christianity. After trace the historical background of the ancient and medieval mystical movement in the Christian history, this article compares several remarkable distinctiveness between mystical God-human unification theory and the Reformed theology��;��:s God-human unification theory. One of these differences is upward salvation and downward salvation. Mystical God-human unification presupposes upward salvation which human being should acquire by the inward spiritual talent. However, Reformed theological unification theory underlies downward salvation from God to human. After compare several distinctiveness, this article suggests several homiletical strategy to overcome contemporary mystical movement in the Korean churches.

This study is an output of an attempt to identify why redemptive historical preaching which stands on the right biblical theology is blamed, why it makes significant errors in homiletics, and if it is really impossible to make ‘a preach invoking ethical behaviors’ by applying it to the lives of the audience��:��here and now’, to find out the missing parts that conventional redemptive historical preaching missed, to overcome those limitations. Redemptive historical preaching addressed the necessity to preach the audience today invoking the proper responses and the lives as the people of God’s kingdom based on four grounds. In other words, it was demonstrated from the nature and the ultimate purpose of preaching, from the purpose of recording bible and examples in the bible, from the structure of indicative and imperative, and from the perspective of objective redemptive history and subjective redemptive history. Additionally, it was demonstrated that the redemptive historical preaching must include the biographical sermon that deal with the person who becomes the subject of God’s subjective redemption.

In order to preach the biblical characters according to the original intention of the biblical text, preacher need to access and interpret them with the comprehensive interpretative strategy. Because the biblical characters appear in the narrative genre, preacher need to interpret them in terms of the narrative interpretation strategy. In addition, preacher should interpret them with the redemptive historical perspective because the biblical characters are witnessing and responding he redemptive history of God which penetrates the whole Scripture from Genesis to the Revelation of John. The Bible presents the divine revelation about the redemptive history of God which is at its zenith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Biblical characters take the role to respond and witness the redemptive history of God which has been accomplished in their own redemptive historical situation whether in the positive position or the negative position. Therefore preacher to preach the biblical character according to the biblical perspective should interpret them in terms of the redemptive history of God which penetrates both the whole Scriptures and its own redemptive historical situation, so as to acquire the redemptive historical main idea of the biblical text.

The Word of God is true and eternally unchangeable. When we remember that the preaching itself as the proclamation of the Word of God fulfills redemptive history of God and makes His Church stand firm as His tool, we come to realize how important the effective delivery of preaching is. There have always been attempts of researching on the subject of the effective methods of delivering God’s Word. It is one of the subjects that the preacher could not or should not overlook, so it is proper to say that the preacher must pour out the utmost endeavor in researching on it. Throughout the history of preaching in Korean church, we can learn that our preachers have tried their best to achieve the goal of the effective delivery of preaching. I have also tried to go along with this kind of endeavor. Through this thesis, I researched on finding the effective methods of delivering God��:��fs Word with my special interest on the use of Onomatopoeia and Mimesis in preaching. Even though Korean preachers use Korean language relatively often and almost all the time compared to others, there have not been enough studies on the subject of effective delivery of preaching with the practical application of Korean language. With this situation in mind, I tried to explore throughout this thesis the meaning of Onomatopoeia and Mimesis, their functions and characteristics, roles in sentences, effects on conveyance of meaning, in order to seek the effective way of delivery of preaching by applying Onomatopoeia and Mimesis.
