As the lighting energy usage accounts for a big proportion of the total energy usage in buildings, there have been diverse researches and technological developments on solutions. As a solution to such a problem, light shelves as one of the lighting systems have been researched after being recognized its efficiency. However, the existing researches on light shelves focused only on the variables of light shelves and failed to reflect the consideration on spatial form, which is a variable of indoor spaces. In this regard, this research aimed to establish basic sources for light shelve design by obtaining optimal values for light shelves based on the performance evaluation on light shelves on inclined ceiling, a kind of the spatial forms. The research results are as follows: 1)As the spatial depth meeting the standard indoor lighting level of 400 lx is equally seen regardless of the establishment of light shelves, there are no improvements in efficient lighting performance but improvements in lighting performance when the maximum ceiling height of the inclined ceiling increases. 2) The indoor average lighting level is lower with the light shelves established in the spatial form of inclined ceiling, than without the light shelves, which is considered to be caused by the awnings of the light shelves. In addition, the increase in angle and the decrease in width tend to raise the average indoor illuminance level by reducing the awning surface. 3) The increase in the angle of light shelves increases the reflective surface, and this is helpful to improve lighting performance, as the increased angle tends to raise the uniformity ratio of illuminance by growing the amount of light flowed deep into the indoor space. 4) The optimal standard for light shelves on inclined, considering the winter solstice and vernal/autumnal equinox, is the width of 0.3m of active light shelves. This research is relevant as it established basic sources by conducting performance evaluation on light shelves in terms of the inclined ceiling form, winter solstice, and vernal/autumnal equinox. It is considered that further performance evaluations are required on various spatial forms.
A Framework for Ranking of WSNs Performance Based on Cloud Model and Entropy Weight

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has become one of the cutting edge technologies, more attention has been paid to the further development and more applications emerging, WSNs is no longer confined to the traditional area. Due to the characters of dynamic, distribution, resource constrained, uncertainty, complexity and heterogeneity, we need a whole evaluation framework of WSNs performance, which can allow users choose and monitor the operation state. In this paper, we construct WSNPI architecture to rank and observe WSNs, which includes WSNPI Broker, Monitoring and WSNs Catalogue. We offer a more comprehensive evaluation index system including accountability, agility, cost, security and privacy, then build a cloud model and entropy weight method to evaluate WSNs performance. Finally, the proposed method has been serviced to complex simulation, and the results have indicated that the model is objective and effective. The first part is the research status and related problems. The second part is the establishment of an evaluation framework and model. The last part is the numerical example analysis and conclusion.

Since text mining has been assumed to apply for unformatted text (document), it is necessary to represent text with simplified models. One of the most commonly used models is the vector space model, in which text is represented as a bag of words. Recently, many researches tried to apply a graph-based text model for representing semantic relationships between words. In this paper, we surveyed research trends of graph-based text representation models for text mining. We summarized the models, their features and forecasted further researches.

Evaluation by Residents after Home Modification for the Disabled in Japan

In Japan, there is a home modification program for the disabled that subsidizes the costs of modifying homes to make them accessible. The disabled can be the beneficiary of the system only once in their lifetimes. The purpose of this study is to evaluate residence in housing modified with the assistance of Japan's home modification program; problems with the home modification program, reasons for the need of re-modification, and satisfaction and dissatisfaction after home modification. Most of the disabled who had had their homes modified expressed satisfaction, saying that their lives had become more convenient after modification. However, some modified parts at their homes are still inconvenient to use because the modifications were carried out without much preparation. Furthermore, as disabilities deteriorate over time, the modified homes need to be updated accordingly. This means that many modified homes are in need of re-modification. The government, therefore, should introduce a program that helps them to modify their homes regardless of whether they previously received home modification assistance.
Predicting Electricity Consumption Based on Optimized Model of GM(1,1)

Optimized GM(1,1) model based on least absolute criteria is proposed in this paper. Since the initial condition of original GM(1,1) model is not very suitable, we use the modified latest data which generating from the accumulative generating operation as the new initial condition. And the least absolute criteria is applied instead of least square criteria to improve the stability and prediction accuracy of GM(1,1) model. Then the particle swarm optimization is adapted to the parameters optimization. At the end, the optimized GM(1,1) model is used to predict the whole social electricity consumption of China and the result shows its prediction accuracy is better than the original model and the GM(1,1) model with latest initial condition.
A Novel Deployment Algorithm Based on Fluid Dynamics Approach

In this paper, we propose a deployment algorithm for mobile sensor networks, based on fluid dynamics in three-dimensional circumstance. In our algorithm, the entire wireless sensor network is viewed as a fluid body while nodes as charged particles. In the algorithm, nodes tend to spread out into the deployment area automatically, driven by the interaction force between nodes and nodes, nodes and obstacles, as well as nodes and boundaries. We achieve the desirable properties of self-adaption, robustness and simpleness, so that it is especially applicable to deployment in unknown environments. The performance indices of coverage and uniformity are evaluated by simulation. Simultaneously, we utilize digital satellite map nearby Midway Islands sea area to check the deployment effect in simulation, and the results show that our approach can guarantee a desired level of coverage. Moreover, the application of digital satellite map also provides a new approach for studying deployment of virtual reality in sensor networks.

As digital technology became popular, mass production and consumption underwent a change and customized multiple line production systems and variations in consumption patterns emerged. Consequently, “user-centered designs” that satisfy consumer demands by focusing on consumer preferences became popular. The significance of user interfaces — embedded in electronic devices and computers and improves usability and user control — is coming to the forefront. The User experience, which not only provides elements that are convenient to use but also attempts to trigger emotions such as joy and fun has been receiving recent attention. This study presents methods to correct deficiencies among users by facilitating achievement of individual goals through the actant model, and by supplementing the establishment of a scenario suitable for the user through canonical narrative schema.

The project designed and implemented an interoperability mobile platform with a system based on Android open source software platform and Arduino open source hardware platform , an Android program on the host terminal receiving environment data from the mobile platform and sending message through 3G channel using XMPP protocol, and an Android program on the remote control terminal which could process the environment data sent from the mobile platform according to the algorithm and send back control commands. With this system, the mobile intelligent terminal can collect environment data of moving objects in any area through the 3G signal and control the behavior of distant moving objects to avoid collision. Meanwhile, the system which has broad application prospect is prototype of self-driving car, robot designed for dangerous mission and Mars exploration rover.

An Intelligent PSO-based Topology Control Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

Topology control protocols try to decrease the average of node’s transition radius without decreasing network connectivity. In this paper, we propose a new Particle Swarm Optimization-based Topology Control protocol for wireless sensor networks called PSOTC. In this protocol, proper transition radius can be determined using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The proposed protocol dynamically adjusts transition radius of nodes (unlike previous protocols which should select radius values from among predefined values). Thus, the proposed protocol has some advantages compared to the previous protocols. PSOTC protocol has less average number of neighbors compared to the existing protocols. Also, the energy consumption in our protocol is less than other protocols and the network lifetime will be prolonged. In addition, the network connectivity in our protocol is in the acceptable level. The proposed protocol is simulated and the above advantages are demonstrated by the simulation results.
Statistical Description and Analysis of the Concurrent Data Transmission from Massive MTC Devices

The concurrent data transmission from massive machine type communications (MTC) devices within a short time period makes the traffic flow of MTC more bursty. The classic Markovian traffic models under the assumption of Poisson arrival, whose inter- arrival time (IAT) is a negative exponentially distributed random variable with infinite support range, are no longer suitable for this situation. Beta distribution, a distribution with finite support range, is then proposed by 3GPP to account for this and used to serve as the IAT of MTC. The researches on the traffic modeling based on Beta distribution is still in its very initial step and is rarely reported in state of the art literatures. This article takes the initiatives to discuss some prime issues for MTC traffic modeling under the assumption of Beta arrival. By the usage of renewal theory and Volterra integral equation of the second kind with difference kernel, we present the methodology to deduce the access intensity of MTC arrival process, which is defined as the mean number of renewals by time t. Numerical results show that in the context of MTC, there is a sharp increase in the number of access requests from MTC devices which directly causes the well-known congestion problem of MTC. And the ratio of β and α of Beta( α , β ) distribution to some extent can be used as a metric to represent the burstiness of Beta distribution or that of MTC. These works together provide researchers
The Development of a Modular Platform for Convergence Service in Home Network

Home network service area increases and different types of service hardware are used for each service, as a result complexity also increases. It is necessary to develop a convergence service platform for home network. In this paper, a modular type home network service platform is proposed and implemented for different types of services. This platform is equipped with sufficient interface and expansion facilities for different service module. It uses Real Time Operating System (RTOS), framework and Platform Application Interface (API) for services. It has flexibility to support each service depending on the selected hardware module. It provides convergence service (Home device control and status monitoring management service, healthcare service, community computing service, etc) platform for home user.
