The one of the upcoming research stream of Computer Science and Engineering is Natural Language Processing (NLP), which is widely being used in design of Interfaces for Human-Computer Interaction. One of the basic applications of NLP, is design of “"Smart Homes”", in which; based on user input certain actions can be performed either locally inside the house or globally outside the house. The smart homes designed are either based on remote input provided to the system from one place in the house or limited to only certain type of actions which the system can handle. The current state of art of the Smart Home design methodologies, does not includes the design of customized systems capable of handling inputs from different gender i.e., in different pitches, similarly the methodologies does not provides facilities to handle input in different language. The systems existing are not capable of understanding the context of situation and determining actions based on context. The paper describes a Smart Home application which can be used by elderly people living alone in the home to serve their basic needs, which specifically includes security issues. The system is initially based on generic architecture, and can be further customized to user needs. The main component of the generic architecture is ability to fix a certain language or set of languages in which the input will be provided to the system. This enables the user to interact with the system in multiple languages, thus the specific instruction set is not limited to one language. The interface designed is based on speech input, can handle multiple languages and is not gender specific. The system designed is also “"Context Specific”", to understand the context of current state in which input is given to the system and perform the necessary action. The context understanding feature makes the system more specific to understand the urgency of action to be performed based on input. The system can deployed for a building incorporating a wireless sensor network, and provide a high quality, efficient contextsensitive data transmission facility.

Energy problem is becoming one of the toughest issues nowadays. In order to meet the increased demands regarding energy awareness, we have been developing a new way of representing and interacting with energy in electric products, specifically home appliances. The Ubi-PowerMeter is such a paradigm, which consists of hardware devices including smart meters and residential gateway, wireless communication based on ZigBee protocol, intelligent component to analyze gathered data, and interface design involving GSM module and the construction of web site. Using this full functional prototype, this paper also investigates the accuracy and stability of it, as well as the effect on reducing energy consumption.

Opinion Mining is a recent area of interest for Natural Language (NLP) researchers. Peoples are intended to develop a system that can identify and classify opinion or sentiment as represented in an electronic text. Since previous attempts have defined opinion mining as a few sequence of well known standard mechanisms as: Subjectivity Detection, polarity Detection, Degree of polarity identification. The scope of the present research proposal is to develop a system that can identify subjective sentence from an input document and successively identify the polar phrases among the sentences as positive either negative. Multi Perspective Question Answering (MPQA) corpus has been chosen for the present task. The research contribution will rely on finding upon new ways to solve the subjectivity detection or polarity detection as a hard unsolved research problem.

Ubiquitous computing only allows services of fixed or local area and it just provides services without status information of the device upon user request. Thus, it is difficult to react immediately with users changes. Since urban computing is on higher system instead of ubiquitous, it can usually provide users the organic behavior with reference from devices physical states information. Also, it provides the services by considering the user’'s devices and environments near user’'s location. That means the generated context during movement can be detected by sensor. Through this information the system guesses the user’'s next move and the number of context increases upon user’'s movement. Therefore, there are so manyusers / devices to attack in urban computing. However, existing urban computing is insufficiency to process the security module. Therefore, we suggest the way to secure contents in urban computing.
