A Design of Fuzzy-PID Controller of Constant Temperature for Semiconductor Laser Diodes

The paper introduces two types of precise temperature controllers for high power semiconductor laser diodes. We apply a category of self-tuning parameter fuzzy-PID controller and a kind of neuronal network optimized rules fuzzy-PID controller to realize stable temperature controlling. Also we simulate this two methods using Matlab. The result proves that the new method has more superiority than traditional means, such as PID controlling, etc. And further improvement on constant temperature control will inevitably promote the reliability of LD.
Causal Order Protocol Based on Virtual Synchronous Group Membership in Wireless Sensor Networks

Many distributed applications require cooperating to fuse their data in those WSNs in real time. Some of these WSNs allow interacting with publishers and subscribers (P/S) sensors. But, there exist little research works on development of causal ordering based on virtual synchronous group membership of these P/S systems, one of mandatory properties for this kind of application fields. In this paper, we propose a novel approach based on gossip protocols and virtual synchronous group membership, guaranteeing the causal message ordering in those WSNs. In the proposed protocol, a broker gossips about FLUSH including the whole set of vectors to subscribers for virtual synchronous group membership. The protocol does not end based on the acknowledgement of FLUSH, but on the maximum gossip rounds of gossip disseminations. Therefore, this protocol is appropriate for sensor networks configured with active and passive sensors in real time synchronization. Its features might result in very low cost communication overhead between brokers and subscribers with flexible consistency by cooperating to fuse their data. Simulation results show that our gossip-style dissemination protocol outperforms the previous one in terms of virtual synchronous group membership.
Thermal Effects of Fluid on Nanometric Cutting of Silicon

To understand the effect of fluid on thermal behavior of material removing in nanoscale, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation method is performed to model the chip generation, heat distribution, phase transformation and the temperature dependence by considering the effects of fluid during nanometric cutting of mono-crystalline silicon. In this work, a fluid containing model was used by considering fluids like coolants and concentrating on its impact during machining. The simulation results show that the chip size is 8% larger in vacuum than in the fluid containing model at the same simulation stage. In both case, the heat distribution topology is unanimous and roughly presents a concentric shape, a steep temperature gradient is observed in tool and the highest temperature lies in chip, but the average temperature is decreased of 6% in the low temperature ranges and 15% in chips of the fluid containing model. Phase transformation mainly occurred in chip, shear zone and machined surface, the growth of phase transformation is retarded by a volume decrease of 9% in the fluid containing model. Some physical quantities are decreased with the increasing system temperature during machining and show thermal soft effect.

Considering the production scheduling problem of processes industry and the disadvantages of conventional differential evolution algorithm, a method of production scheduling oriented to energy consumption optimization for process industry is proposed in this paper, which is based on self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm. Based on the analysis of production scheduling problems for processes industry, a production scheduling model is established, whose goal is to obtain the minimum of total process energy consumption. Since the basic differential evolution algorithm has the disadvantage that the search performance is very sensitive to the parameter settings, the self-adaptive control evolution strategy are used to control the parameters scale factor(F) and crossover probability(CR) to improve the global search ability and convergence speed. A practical production scheduling problem is taken as an example here, the established model and self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm are adopted to realize scheduling simulation with the minimum total process energy consumption. The simulation results show that the production scheduling method oriented to energy consumption optimization is superior to the production scheduling method oriented to process time optimization, and it can realize the goal of reducing energy consumption.
A T-DIMM ID Based Command Routing Method for the DIMM Tree Architecture

The DIMM tree architecture was proposed to overcome the drawbacks of the traditional DIMM interface methods such as multi-drop bus and point-to-point links. As the DIMM tree architecture has a tree topology, the most important function of the DIMM tree architecture is the command routing function between upper-level and lower-level DIMMs. In order to implement this function, it uses a special type of DIMMs, called tree DIMMs (T-DIMMs). However, because the pre-proposed T-DIMM uses the command routing method based on routing tables, some problems occur such as hardware cost increase due to the routing table, routing table initialization, and limitation in the number of ranks in one T-DIMM. To solve such problems, this paper proposes a command routing method based on a T-DIMM ID without the routing table. The proposed method was modeled with a register transfer model (RTL). The model of the proposed method has 2 ranks per T-DIMM, and doesn’t use the routing table for command. This RTL model was synthesized into the gate-level model. The experimental results confirmed that hardware cost of the proposed method is reduced dramatically while its performance is the same, as compared with the previous routing method in the DIMM tree architecture.
Research on Evaluation of Model Similarity Based on Face Match

Model similarity measurement is an important problem in retrieval of CAD models. In order to compute the similarity degree between two models correctly, a method of model similarity evaluation based on face match is proposed in this paper. Here, face adjacent graph is adopted to describe topological structures in model and construct the face matching matrix between two models. At the same time, greedy algorithm is applied to compute the similarity between these two models. In experiments, the proposed method is used to measure the similarity degree between target model and source model. Experimental results show that the method can evaluate the difference of models efficiently.
Strategies to Extend the Network Life Time of MWSN with Self-Organization Clustering

In wireless sensor networks, the methods for both data collection and data transmission to base station are important factors for sensor node energy consumption. We can transmit the data generated by each node more efficiently using clustering. One of the clustering methods, self-organization clustering, cannot guarantee homogeneous head-node selection. We suggest the adjusted-TTC method, which improves the capacity of the TTC to select a head-node evenly and efficiently in the network field through 2-tier clustering. Adjusted-TTC prioritizes a head-node at the first stage by removing head-nodes that are too close to the other head-nodes in the network field. This improves the data transmission energy efficiency among sensor nodes by reducing the number of non-receiving advertisement messages.
Study on Dangerous Signal Mining of Dangerous Goods Transport Vehicles

Dangerous signal mining method of dangerous goods transport vehicles and how to improve the accuracy of the mining are studied in the paper. There are many dangerous conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and other dangerous condition caused by the influence of the external factors such as friction in the transportation process of dangerous goods. If people can discover these dangerous condition signals as soon as possible, they can deal with them as soon as possible, which can effectively reduce the transport accidents and loss. The dangerous condition signals change as the interference of different nonlinear random mutation is present. The traditional signal mining methods have not a good solution to properly capture abnormal signal nonlinear changes, which causing flammable signal detection in the transport of dangerous goods inaccurate. The paper proposes a dangerous signal mining model based on the characteristics association mining algorithm for dangerous goods transport vehicles. First, the paper studies Cluster analysis theory and present the model for dangerous signal mining for dangerous goods transport vehicles. Second, the paper present wavelet transform model for the data extraction from transport vehicle status signal feature, and present a new mining model based the characteristics association data mining algorithm for dangerous signal mining, which can improve the accuracy of the mining. Finally, the experiment was done and shown that the new mining model for dangerous goods transport vehicles dangerous signal mining, can greatly improve the accuracy of the excavation.
Fast Algorithm with Early Termination CU Split and Mode Decision

HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) is the next-generation video coding standard, which introduced many new technologies such as tree structure coding unit and a variety of intra prediction mode. Compared with H.264/AVC, HEVC has achieved higher coding efficiency but requires a very high computational complexity. So this paper proposes a fast algorithm through early termination of the CU (Coding Unit) splitting and mode decision. Based on the research of image features, we use the variance of the input image to early terminate CU splitting. In addition, based on the analysis of candidate modes which were obtained by the rough mode decision, the adjacent mode is used to early terminate the RDO process to reduce the computational complexity. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm saves averagely about 40% of encoding time with neglecting degradation of coding performance.
Design of Exclusive-OR Logic Gate on Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata

Most of Exclusive-OR(XOR) logic gates on quantum-dot cellular automata(QCA) is based on configuration of 2-input, and they are hardly to be scalable and exists unbearable noise because they are only focused on decrease of latency and space. In this paper, we propose how to make a scalable logic using a wire crossing technique, and give examples of two expanded XOR gate using typical logic gates on QCA. The designed logics are simulated and show accurate output results.

Pepper (Capsicum spp.) is one of the most economically and agriculturally important vegetable crops on the globe. However, the genomic resources of Pepper (Capsicum spp.) were scarcity, and only a few nucleotide sequences could be obtained in public databases. In this study, we examined transcriptome in C.annuum R597. More than 66million of high quality reads were generated using Illumina paired-end sequencing technology. Approximately 6 Gbp of data were generated, and de novo assembled into 96, 340 unigenes, with an N50 of 989 bp. The average length of unigenes was 651 bp. Based on sequence similarity search with known protein database, 51, 053 (53.0%) showed significant similarity to know proteins in Nr database, and 33, 766 (35.0%) had BLAST hits in Swiss-Prot database. Among the annotated unigenes, 26, 050 of C.annuum R597 unigenes were assigned to GO term annotation, and 28, 428 were found to have COG classification. In addition, a total of 14, 279 unigenes were assigned to 270 KEGG pathways. Moreover, a total 5, 960 SNPs, 5, 426 SSRs, and 2, 199 InDels were detected as potential molecular markers in pepper. Our study enriches the genomic resources of Pepper (Capsicum spp.) and provides powerful information for future studies. The availability of this ample amount of information about the transcriptome and SSRs, SNPs and InDels in pepper could server as valuable for studies on the agronomic traits and identification of molecular mechanism such plant resistance.
Implementation of PCB-Based PCR Chip Using Double-Sided Tape

The fabrication of microfluidic channels in previously proposed polymerase chain re-action chips by using polydimethylsiloxane, polycarbonate, and poly (methyl methacrylate) is expensive. Hence, the channel fabrication using tapes was investigated in this study. This paper presents experimental results for DNA amplification performance and the adsorption of fluorescent substances with respect to various taping materials constituting microfluidic channels. Experiments on fluorescence adsorption showed the adhesive of double-sided tapes was the main cause of the adsorption. DNA amplification with micro-fluidic channels made of polypropylene and the double-sided tape showed comparable performances to that with the conventional tube in the general thermal cycler.

In the process of metallurgy steel mechanical lifting, lifting path is not planned in advance. Under the different path of lifting, lifting machinery and it's easy to have a collision. The use of traditional algorithm for metallurgical molten steel mechanical lifting, it is necessary to preset a complete mechanical lifting path to achieve mechanical lifting process of collision, without fully considering the randomness of lifting path random effects. In order to avoid the disadvantages of the traditional algorithm, this paper puts forward a kind of coordination control algorithm of the collision in the process of metallurgy steel mechanical lifting system. Rough set neural network model is established and the metallurgical molten steel mechanical lifting collision to deal with the noise signal, thereby to metallurgy steel mechanical collision operation to provide accurate basis. Use of coordinated control algorithm, can realize metallurgy steel mechanical lifting collision. The experimental results show that the algorithm presented in this paper for metallurgical molten steel mechanical lifting process of collision can reduce the collision rate of mechanical lifting, thus ensuring the safe operation of the machinery.
A Method of Array Configuration for Tracking Photovoltaic Devices

A new method of array configuration for solar tracking photovoltaic (PV) devices is proposed. By analyzing the affecting factors of shadows, a calculation model of PV cell panels’ shadow in the sunlight is structured. And the variation rule of shadows in a year is founded by simulation program. Then a spacing calculation method of the solar tracking device array is proposed. The experiment result shows that the proposed method can minimize the installation spacing of PV device by ensuring PV cell panels without shadow shading and save area effectively in PV power station construction.

Recently, many types of media files have joined the multimedia/ family not to mention the significant improvements on the existing ones. Furthermore there are other extensive researches regarding olfactory displays or smell generators, these devices are capable of generating different intensities of smells, yet still has some limitations and not yet set for commercial use. In this work, a complete solution were presented to enable images to contain smell information for the user to experience another depth of interaction with olfaction sensation along with the auditory, haptic and visual. Using a novel olfactory display device based on a micro-porous piezoelectric film that is capable of producing very fine particles of the scent material with precision that is almost digitally in term of amount and speed.
Modeling and Dynamic Analysis of Planetary Gear Transmission Joints with Backlash

As one of the core components, the joint plays an important role during the movement of space manipulator, and its performance will be influenced by the existence of the backlash, which can severely sacrifice the quality of the manipulator to perform a task. In order to have a comprehensive understanding of the influence of the backlash to the gear transmission joints, a dynamic model of planetary gear transmission joint with consideration of the time-varying mesh stiffness, mesh damping, gear backlash, and gear mesh error is established by the lumped parameter method, and the differential equations of motion are established by Newton-Euler method in this paper. In addition, a novel calculation method is proposed to solve the differential equation analytically using the precise integration algorithm under Hamiltonian system on the basis of a simplified treatment. The simulation results indicate that the backlash within a certain range has little effect on periodic solutions of the planetary gear transmission train, but with the enlargement of backlash, the dynamic response of the system is significantly changed.

Focus and tracking servo control plays an important role in the optical storage systems and the control precision could directly affect the read/write performance of the system. Due to the non-uniformity of the space magnetic field in the optical pickup system, the crosstalk movements among the focus, tracking and rolling direction are generated by the unbalanced magnetic induction forces. In the traditional DVD systems, the servo control in the focus and tracking movement are studied separately without considering possible crosstalk to the rolling movement, which could bring up the undesired tilt angle error. In this paper, the crosstalk effects are studied and a multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) model is developed for the optical pickup systems. Then a mix-sensitivity H∞ controller design approach is proposed for the servo control system so that not only the control precision requirements in the focus and tracking direction are satisfied, but also the tilt angle error caused by the crosstalk effect is effectively reduced. Finally, the control performance is verified in an experimental setup system by the comparison with the traditional lead-lag controller. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed optimal control approach to satisfy the even tighter optical tolerance requirement in the next generation optical storage systems.
Analysis and Implementation of a Low-cost High Frequency Inverter for Driving a Nonlinear Load

This paper presents the analysis and implementation of a low-cost high frequency inverter for driving a nonlinear load. The proposed high frequency inverter utilizes the structure of a switching power amplifier circuit that is very simple and highly efficient. The proposed inverter can drive a nonlinear load such as a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp. The drive circuit of the proposed inverter is operated by a clock generator circuit and a comparator. In this paper, the circuit of the proposed inverter is introduced, the operational principle is analyzed, and a prototype implementation is discussed. Experimental results using a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp demonstrate the performance and characteristics of the proposed inverter for driving a nonlinear load.
Design of a Clamping Device for the Free Curve Welding

Developing a clamping device fixed directly on a multi-degree of freedom robot manipulator to solve the problem of easy deformation of sheet metal plates in three dimensions free curve is still very challenging. This work describes the conceptual design, the mechanical design, and the design of control system of a new clamping device for the free curve welding. The basic function of the clamping device is to provide a stable and adjustable mechanical pressure which is generated by a compressed conventional spring to a sheet plate in the welding process. Following the concept design stage, the mechanical design is performed, aimed at effectively controlling the deformation of sheet metal and eliminating the gap between the plates in the welding process. Finally, the control methodology is put forward. Thanks to the proposed modular construction and the use of a conventional spring, the device shows good performances. The developed clamping device can also be extended to other applications in surface manufacturing such as spray painting on space free curve.

The Han River estuary lies in the trans-boundary region of the North and South Korea. Thus as a result, it is often difficult to obtain continuous tidal data spanning over a long period of time. Thus, this paper proposed to set up a 2D Mike21FM numerical model to obtain accurate tidal level predictions of the Han River estuary in the Korean Demilitarized Zone. In order to obtain a good calibrated model, the location, shape and tidal stations’ influence of the open sea boundary is extensively examined. In addition, a varying roughness coefficient based on the bathymetry’s depth is used instead of a constant value for all depths. It is suggested that for future research, the model can be made more robust through further calibration using tidal forecasts as the input data for open sea boundary. This will eliminate the need for measured data for the open sea boundary in order to forcast accurate inland’s stations levels.
Research on FE Modeling Common Method and Integration System for Nuclear Power Valve

Because of the high security, shape complexity of valve cavity and the nonlinear of joint surface at sealing position, establishing the finite element model quickly and accurately that could meet engineering accuracy and calculation condition is the problem that need urgently solved. A new method on knowledge reuse process of finite element analysis among valve similar model is presented based on modular thought, which could effectively improve the simulation accuracy and efficiency. Evaluation index system would be constructed according to the characteristics of nuclear power valves in order to perfect the technical standard and the norm of nuclear power valve design in our country. And on these bases above, the integrated platform as practical engineering tools could be constructed, which integrates design, simulation, and optimization of nuclear power valves together supporting heterogeneous model transfer. It is expected to give theoretical development and practical application to improve the design ability and the product performance of nuclear power valves.

Greedy Algorithms for Target Coverage Lifetime Management Problem in Wireless Sensor Networks

When several low power sensors are randomly deployed in a field for monitoring targets located at fixed positions, managing the network lifetime is useful as long as replacing battery of dead sensors is not often feasible. The most commonly investigated mechanism for coverage preserving while maximizing the network lifetime is to design efficient sleep scheduling protocols, so that sensors can alternate their state between being active or not. Maximizing lifetime of a sensor network while satisfying a predefined coverage requirement is an optimization problem, which most of times cannot be optimally solved in polynomial time. In this paper, we address this problem by using set cover approach. We propose a greedy algorithm that distributes sensors among disjoints and non-disjoints set covers with the requirement that each set cover satisfies full targets coverage. The algorithm is an improvement of the classical greedy set cover algorithm, and its approximation ratio is verified to be not worse than 𝑙𝑜𝑔(𝑚). Simulation results show good performance over some other solutions found in the literature. We provide also a comparison of several greedy techniques found in the literature addressed in the context of different design choices linked to the target coverage problem.

Hydrodynamic retarder is one of the important auxiliary braking systems among oversize vehicle. Internal flow field in this paper, the retarder has carried on the innovation design and modeling and simulation, and in the design of test bed frame for retarder was tested, through the comparison of simulation data and experimental data, in order to get more reliable data of retarder braking torque. Using simulation software AMESim braking whole model, set up a retarder and under different conditions are simulated with retarder, compared with the result of simulation analysis, do the further research of the hydraulic retarder braking performance of the system. Braking and driving through the retarder braking joint simulation of braking curve, it can be seen that the use of hydraulic retarder of automobile braking performance, driving safety and economy superiority.

This paper compiles system integrated control program based on MSP430F169 flight management computer design and production. There is interface circuit connecting with peripheral system in the flight management computer design. We implement the hardware connection of flight management computer with communication system, guided system, flight control system and power system by the interface circuit, by which realizes the both-way communication and autonomous flight of light UAV.

This paper puts forward a new design idea of single lens according to the principle of optical triangulation. The minitype laser triangle probe is designed on the basis of the common direct laser triangulation whose light path is improved. A beam splitter lens is introduced to the path,and the focusing lens and imaging lens are into one. The beam splitter lens, detector and focusing lens are coaxial, so the system is more compact, and the whole measurement system’s volume is reduced. Optical system is simulated by optical design software ZEMAX(focus=20mm,Pupil diameter=4mm,and TOTR=20.5mm), so the whole system can achieve miniaturization. With appropriate laser and photoelectric detectors,larger scope of work and higher precision of measurement is obtain. The system adaptability to the measurement environment is improved,and this system can be widely used in the industrial online detection and military fields.

For a high-speed data transmission with guaranteed QoS and energy efficiency in a ship area network (SAN), we consider IEEE 802.15.3 based TDMA high-rate wireless personal area network (HR-WPAN) application. It is shown that the proposed SAN architecture with TDMA based HR-WPAN can provide a high quality wireless connectivity to the conventional dedicated wired devices and shipboard control network devices as a wireless gateway, by adaptively selecting transmission parameters such as transmission power and physical data rate for a fixed fragment size. Moreover, a realistic effect of ship building material such as steel (large ship) and FRP (medium size ship) is considered as a path loss parameter for performance evaluation. We demonstrated that the proposed TDMA based HR-WPAN system with the link transmission parameters selection algorithm could provide a good wireless network model applicable to the SAN architecture.

Foraging behavior of animal widely concerns researchers. Some swarm intelligence algorithms, such as ant colony optimization algorithm, particle swarm optimization algorithm, artificial fish swarm algorithm, and so on, have been developed. Artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC), which is based on self-organization model, has been proposed. Its application is mainly used in the field of numerical optimization. Researchers verify the outstanding performance in function optimization domain according to the comparison with other algorithms with various improvements. Artificial bee colony algorithm itself has better performance in solving high dimension function. It needs not large population size and can guarantee the global convergence. In the paper, from the view of improving the convergence rate of the algorithm, search operators have been studied and a faster algorithm has been proposed. At the same time, the search region has been optimized. According to the example verification, the new algorithm is effective and the algorithm can be used in the optimization field.
