User-friendly Calibration Tool for Temperature Measurements of PCR Devices with NTC Thermistors

In this paper, we propose a user-friendly tool that calibrates the coefficient variables of Steinhart-Hart equation used for the temperature measurement of NTC thermistor. The proposed tool provides automatic modification of the coefficient variables only with temperature measurement, whereas the legacy process requires manual modification of the coefficient variables with temperature and resistance measurements. For user convenience, the proposed tool is implemented with a user-friendly GUI program. The tool is applied to 4-points temperature measurements of PCR devices. In accuracy evaluation, the proposed tool yields a precision of ±0.1℃.

A method of feature extraction in non-stationary signals is proposed to improve the correct classification rates of plant electrical signals. The samples are composed of plant electrical signals datum which includes the period of four circumstances. For wavelets have the trait of arbitrary distinction and decomposition, eigenvector which reflect different state of plant electrical signals are extracted from different frequency segments with the technology of wavelet decomposition. Then we take them input neural network as samples to establish the model of BP neural network. Experimental results demonstrate that the classification accuracy of the proposed feature extraction method for experiment plant electrical signals is high.
HSTL IO Standard Based Energy Efficient FIR Filter Design on 28nm FPGA

In this research paper, we have designed an energy efficient FIR Filter that is very much useful in digital signal processing (DSP). FIR is a finite impulse response (FIR) filter is a filter whose impulse response is of finite duration. In this paper we have aimed to design a FIR Filter that consists of three inputs and one output. The three inputs are input data that is 8 bit or 1 byte (finite), clock and reset. The output is 18 bits (finite) wide. The code has been implemented in Xilinx ISE Design Suite 14.2 and results were tested on 28nm FPGA platform. The design has been tested on Kintex-7. Power analysis has been done at different operating frequencies. In this paper we have done frequency scaling technique to obtain energy efficient design. The temperature has been kept constant that is 25 degree Celsius. Airflow and heat sink are main parameters while analyzing the thermal dissipation in the circuit [12]. In this work we have taken constant value of air flow and heat sink. Airflow has been kept 250 LFM and medium Heat sink. In this paper we have taken HSTL (High Speed Transceiver Logic) IOSTANDARD. HSTL family consists of HSTL _I, HSTL_II, HSTL_I_18 and HSTL_II_18, HSTL_I_12 and the analysis has been done on these IO standards. We can conclude that there can be 23-33% saving of total power dissipation by using frequency scaling technique.

Controlling UAV requires high-precision dynamic information input. However, mini UAV needs more demands because of the its small volume. Using MEMS sensor can make the UAV become high-precision, low power consumption and inexpensive machine. In this research, the core part is focusing on STM32F405, designing and implement the attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) based on 3-axis MEMS gyroscope, 3-axis MEMS accelerometer and magnetometer. Quaternion Kalman filter has been adopted in this study in order to achieve the attitude measurement and error control of transporter.
Sound Source based Mobile Robot Control for Human Following in a Networked Intelligent Space

This research addresses sensor-based tracking problems for autonomous cleaning mobile robot in a networked sensor space. To solve the problem, the difference among the traveling times of the sound source to each of three microphones has been used to calculate the distance and orientation of the sound source from the cleaning mobile robot, which carries the microphone array. The cross-correlation between two signals has been applied for detecting the time difference between two signals, which provides reliable and precise value of the time difference compared to the conventional methods. To generate the tracking direction to the sound source, fuzzy rules are applied and the results are used to control the cleaning mobile robot in a real-time. Finally the experiment results show that the proposed algorithm works well, even though the mobile robot knows little about the environment.

This work presents an active adaptive sliding mode controller for using synchronization of fractional-order hyperchaotic systems with uncertainties and external disturbances. Based on Lyapunov stability theorems a fractional sliding surface is designed and an active adaptive sliding mode controller is proposed. In this method, the bound of the uncertainties and external disturbances are estimated through the adaptive updating law. The synchronization scheme is global and theoretically rigorous. Simulation studies have shown the proposed controllers can get good control effects.

This paper presents a motor drive system based on Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) multilevel converter using only one isolated power source supply. CHB multilevel converter has been conceived as an effective device to reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) in medium-voltage motor drives. A new permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive system topology is proposed to implement the system harmonic compensation. In this novel system an transformer is used as energy feedback device between the converter and the motor; whereby the PMSM drive system using the feedback power flow to provide the H-bridges, Moreover, CHB multilevel converter take advantages in reduce total harmonic distortion since the transformer is connected in main circuit. Simulation and experimental results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed motor drive system.
DGCA Scheme for Differentiated Services in Wireless Cellular Networks

Modern wireless cellular networks (WCNs) carry different types of services, including voice, video, data, web traffic, etc. In order to provide high-quality multimedia services to anyone, anywhere, at any time with the consideration of user mobility, network designers need to implement optimal mechanisms that can trade off between Quality of Service (QoS) and Channel Utilization (in other words, Resource Utilization). This paper presents a dynamic guard channel allocation (DGCA) scheme, which can adaptively adjust the number of reserved channels for handoff calls to achieve this goal. Heavy-tailed distributions are used to represent the multimedia traffics. SimPy is used to build the simulation model [1].

The land and space resources are very tight in this world today, in order to save storage space and improve the efficiency of the enterprise, this paper designs an electric-intensive mobile rack system. This system uses MCU as the controller, integrates multiple security protection system to improve the safety of the system, while the comprehensive control software ensures the stability of the system. The practice shows that this system can greatly reduce storage space and improve the efficiency of cargo access.

Time domain features are employed for detection and identification of rolling element bearing faults in rotating machinery. Only five features with simple calculation are selected as features extracted directly from the original time domain vibration signals or preprocessed time domain vibration components. Three preprocessing techniques including high and band pass filtration, wavelet package transform (WPT) and envelope analysis are researched to achieve time domain features carrying the important diagnostic information of bearing conditions. An optimized artificial neural network (ANN) with rapid learning algorithm is designed and classification is performed using the ANN combined with time domain features. The model was evaluated on vibration data recorded using two accelerometers mounted on an induction motor housing subjected to a number of single point defects. The results demonstrate the proposed model is capable of high precision, fast processing and time savings in identification of bearing faults.
The Research of Asynchronous Based Dispersion Handling Algorithm in order to Reduce Server Traffic

In this dissertation, we suggest an asynchronous-based dispersion-handling algorithm in order to improve on a common problem in previous synchronous-based data handling algorithms. The suggested type of algorithm assigns the diverse device’s certification process into the created secondary server. Each of the secondary servers then carries out data processing by asynchronous style. In order to also evaluate the suggested algorithms capacity, we constructed mono-server handling environment and dispersion handling environment, then measured the TCP Network handling between server and terminal, while also measuring the CPU handling of the server. As a result, TCP Network handling reduced about 26.5% of handling compared to the mono handling style. The server’s CPU handling was reduced to about 33.49% of handling compared to mono handling style.
Intelligent Recognition Method of Infant Sleeping Position Based on Thermal Infrared Imaging

The sleeping position monitoring of infant is a very important component of baby safe custody. Existing infant sleep monitoring mainly rely on human duty, which is usually easy to cause urgent infant events not to be timely detected and treated, especially when the guardian is sleeping at night. In this paper, we propose an intelligent recognition method of infant sleeping position based on thermal infrared imaging, aiming to overcome the deficiencies of the prior art on infant sleep monitoring. Firstly we capture real-time thermal infrared images on infant sleeping with thermal imager, in a non-touch way. Then we detect the position of infant’s nose or mouth as well as the position of infant's head area. Next we discriminate the sleeping position of infant's head according to the relative position of nose or mouth to the detected head area. Finally when the recognized sleeping position is dangerous or with a security risk to infant, we remind the guardian through triggering early warning module to generate alarm. Real data have been used to test the proposed approach and very good results have been achieved, validating it.
Design and Implementation of Pulse Signal Detection System Based on Bluetooth Transmission

In order to achieve convenient and rapid detection of pulse signal, a real-time detection system of photoelectric pulse signal based on Bluetooth transmission is proposed in this paper. The system mainly includes pulse sensor, Arduino processor board, Bluetooth modules and PC management platform. The pulse signal collected by pulse senor will be sent to Arduino processor board after being filtered and amplified. Then Arduino processor board will conduct A/D conversion and data processing on pulse signal. Thus pulse rate and time between heartbeats can be calculated, transmitted and displayed in real-time on PC management platform which is written by Processing Language. The results of the system test show that the pulse signal detection system implemented above can be served as practical application reliably.

A strategy which using the particle swarm algorithm improved by the artificial fish swarm algorithm to optimize the BP (Back propagation) algorithm was proposed. It can conquer the shortcomings that the convergence rate of BP is too slow and it is easy to fall into local extreme value, and can improve the learning ability of BP neural network. Finally, the improved algorithm has been used to analysis the earthquake prediction. The results of simulation and test show that the optimized algorithm can improve the predicting accuracy of the BP network.

The paper describes an optimal parameter selection method of automatic voltage regulator (AVR) for a large power plant in order to improve power system stability. The AVR is generally used to control the output voltage of the generator by regulating the excited voltage in a generator rotor. In order to improve transient stability in power system, the paper proposes the method to select optimal parameters of the AVR based on exact power system modeling. The performances of the proposed method are carried out by time-domain simulation by applying fault to a power system
Subspace Predictive Control for Continuous-time Systems

The paper presents a model predictive control method for continuous-time systems based on subspace identification. It’s developed by reformulating the continuous-time systems using Laguerre filters to obtain the subspace prediction output. Then, the subspace predictors are derived by QR decomposition from input-output and Laguerre matrices. The subspace predictive controller is designed with the subspace predictors. The process control simulations of a fermentation bioreactor system show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Lithium Battery SOC Estimation Method Study Based on Principal Component Analysis

Battery SOC is acted as an essential parameter for EV and HEV, its accurate estimate relates to whether the vehicle control strategy is implemented correctly. There has been no other prediction method, which can obtain a more accurate prediction result. To overcome this deficiency, this paper presents a method to build a battery SOC estimation models using principal component analysis (PCA). PCA cannot manage to extract non-linear factors in the parameters, which may induce prediction error based on the analysis result, in view of this kernel principle component analysis (KPCA) is applied to establish the prediction model. Corresponding simulation and experiments are conducted to verify the proposed model. The simulation results have shown that the revised model can be applied to various working condition with superior real-time ability, reliability and improved precision. The average error of the prediction results can be reduced to 1.46% in comparison with Ah measurement.
A Study on the Navigation Aids Management Based on IoT

Nowadays, most cargoes for export/import are processed through maritime transportation. Large-scale and high-speed vessels make maritime transportation more and more complex, which causes frequent maritime accidents. The risk of these maritime accidents can be reduced by providing systematic and appropriate safety information about them. For this, navigation aids are actively being used. However, because navigation aids are managed and maintained by using a manager’s visual observation, as well as by using a lighthouse and a buoy tender, checking the position error of a mooring buoy and its real-time condition becomes impossible. In accordance with this, conducting an overall review and an advance research on maritime transportation system on coastal waters should be conducted to systematically manage maritime transportation conditions, which makes it is necessary to develop a method of systematic management and efficient operation of navigation aids to help guarantee safe navigation on coastal waters. As a solution, this study analyzed the problem of current navigation aids management by conducting a literature study and an interview with relevant field experts. It suggests a method to manage navigation aids, which is applicable to IoT (Internet of Things) technologies.
LDPC Code Based on Cyclic Shift Register Structure

The non-rule circulates LDPC code is the core of the forward-acting error correction code of our country digital television broadcasts in ground DTMB transmission standard. In view of sub block characteristic of this LDPC code generates matrix. It has designed a kind of LDPC encoder based on the linear feedback shift register structure to achieve the LDPC real-time encoding under three different code rates. The whole design occupies 4699 ALUTs, it shorten 20% logical resources compared with same designable project. It fits low complexity DTMB standard transmitter to develop.
Research on AGV Guided by Real-time Locating System (RTLS) for Material Distribution

In discrete manufacturing workshop, traditional manual material distribution method lacks of unified scheduling and supervision due to a bottleneck of capturing real-time in-formation. Considering these problems, this paper raises the concept “R-AGV (RTLS-based Auto Guided Vehicle)” and proposes the framework of R-AGV-based material dis-tribution scheme on the basis of RTLS platform and workshop electronic map. Then under the principle of shortest transport distance (STD), we put forward the path planning algo-rithm including global path planning algorithm for designing route of R-AGV and local multi-sensors fusion algorithm for avoiding obstacle. Considering experimental purpose, we develop a simplified 8-workstation prototype system capturing the main characteris-tics of the real discrete manufacturing workshop. Our analysis and experiment results show that the R-AGV-based material distribution system provides new levels of process visibility and efficiency comparing to traditional AGV-based distributing systems.
Wideband Active-RC Channel Selection Filter for 5-GHz Wireless LAN

An active-RC channel selection filter for wireless LAN is described whose cut-off frequency is tunable from 6MHz to 20MHz. This frequency tuning range is sufficient to cover from 6MHz to IEEE802.11a (20MHz) including the effect of process, voltage, temperature variations. For wide tuning range, a differential R-2R ladder has been developed which gives widely variable resistance with minimum silicon area. Wide bandwidth operational amplifier (op-amp) is designed to dissipate small power by employing a current re-using feedforward frequency compensation scheme. The in-band input third-order intercept point (iIP3) is 18dBV at the highest gain mode. The input referred noise is 13nV/√Hz at the lowest gain mode. Implemented in a 0.25 um CMOS technology, the filter operates with 2.5V supply voltage, consuming 9mA

In urban management, it is important to precisely forecast the short-term demand for necessary resources, including water, electric power, and gas. Although a variety of prediction models have been proposed in literature, the underlying defects and limitations confine the effectiveness and forecasting precision of these models. In this paper, the short-term prediction problem is modeled as a non-linear multivariate regression problem, which is solved by support vector regression (SVR). The parameters in SVR are optimized by artificial fish-swarm algorithm (AFSA). The proposed prediction model (termed SVR-AFSA) overcomes the defects of existing prediction models, thus promoting forecasting precision. In order to verify the effectiveness and prediction precision of SVR-AFSA, this paper conducts experiments on a real dataset of two-month hourly water consumption. It also compares SVR-AFSA with two commonly adopted models, i.e., traditional BP neural network, and SVR optimized by grid method (SVR-grid). The experiments results show that SVR-AFSA outperforms these two models in prediction precision in terms of mean squared error (MSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE).

The optical performance of Parabolic Trough Collectors (PTCs) for various tracking modes in sub-tropical area (for latitude of 25.02°) were investigated with Hottel model, incidence angle and daily irradiation during equinoxes and solstices, as well as annual incident irradiation were all compared. Results show that, the mode of tracking affects the amount of incident radiation falling on the collector surface, for four tracking modes, PTCs obtain much more irradiation in summer and much less in winter, and the optimum period for solar thermal application is between March and October. Besides, for two axes rotating tracking, polar E-W tracking, horizontal E-W tracking and horizontal N-S tracking, the relative proportion of yearly irradiation yield are 100%, 95.93%, 91.32% and 73.67% respectively. The selection of tracking mode for PTCs should not only take into consideration of temperature delivered, heat demand level, but also all the costs for manufacture, the auxiliary energy required for tracking drive, and other overheads.

In this paper, we derive an accurate and concise closed-form approximation of bit error rate (BER) for coherent amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative relay system employing binary phase shift keying (BPSK), especially in Nakagami-m fading Channels. By exploiting the derived closed-form formula, we can easily verify the error rate performance for various system configurations and fading environments without time-consuming computer simulation. Extensive numerical results are provided to validate our theoretical analysis, where it is obviously demonstrated that the average BER versus signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) curves obtained from the derived closed-form expression are very close to those from the existing integral-form expression.
Optimum Design of the Lower Plate in Die Cutting Machine Based on ANSYS

In order to study the MWB1450 type die cutting machine, geometry entity model and finite element model of lower plate were established by ANSYS software, and stress analysis, displacement analysis and fatigue life prediction of the lower plate are proceeded. Based on this, puts forward the measures in optimizing the structure of the lower plate, and making reasonable design and improvement to the lower plate, the optimization of lightweight、high strength and durability have been achieved.
A Study on the Stability Improvement Technique of Electric Walkers to Prevent Falls of the Elderly

Although the elderly with lower extremity muscle strength has been supported by electric walkers for their smooth walking activities, the electric walkers do not guarantee the stability of outdoor activities due to lack of walking stability and convenience. Also, inexperiences in operating an electric walker during actual walking may cause falls because of existing a separation distance between a user and an electric walker. In this study the center of gravity of a user and the safety area are determined using the separation distance between a user and an electric walker and an algorithm that minimizes falls through a walking synchronization between a user and an electric walker is proposed. In experiment results, the safety area is configured by 40~80cm based on its normal distribution for subjects with different physical conditions. It is possible to reduce the standard error, 37%, according to use of a synchronization controller in walking movements and to ensure the stability of subjects through reducing the speed of 0.45m/s maximum.
Method of Telemetry, Tracking and Control Monopulse System Simulation and Evaluation in Jamming

To evaluate the performance of spacecraft angle measurement in jamming, a method of TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking, and Control) monopulse system analysis is proposed in the condition that antenna keeps tracking the target. First, a geometric model of large aperture parabolic antenna is established, and the antenna patterns of sum, azimuth difference and elevation difference channel are derived through EM computation. Next, the positions and the simultaneous visibility of spacecraft and jammer are derived with orbit computation software. Then, formulae to calculate the positions of jammer in the antenna pattern, i.e. the angle of nutation and procession, are derived and used. Once again, according to the positions of spacecraft and jammer that relative to the ground station, the expressions to estimate the power of signal, internal noise, jamming are suggested, which are used to calculate the SNR and correlation coefficient. At last, the performance of the TT&C monopulse system of fix target and single observation is discussed. And the validity and feasibility of the method are verified with BD-2A as the target and X37-B as the Jammer. The proposed method realizes a kind of full path simulation which contains antenna pattern and its sidelobe, motion of target spacecraft and jammer, internal noise of receiver. It is more practical in engineering analysis.
