The main problem faced during biomedical image diagnosis is the noise introduced due to the consequence of the coherent nature of the image. The noise interfered may be Gaussian noise, speckle noise or Poisson noise, during transmission. The capturing devices itself has a salt & pepper noise. These noises corrupt the image and often lead to incorrect diagnosis. These noises make it more difficult for the observer to discriminate fine detail of the images in diagnostic examinations. Thus, denoising these noises from a noisy image has become the most important step in medical image processing. In spite of the sophistication of the recently proposed methods, most algorithms have not yet attained a desirable level of applicability. Denoising techniques are aimed at removing noise or distortion from images while retaining the original quality of the image. In this work, we propose PCA_NLM approach which computes neighborhood similarities after PCA projection. Our algorithm is based on the assumption that image contains an extensive amount of self-similarity. The accuracy and computational cost of the PCA algorithm is improved by computing neighborhood similarities, i.e., averaging weights, after a PCA projection to a lower dimensional subspace. We evaluate and compare the performance of proposed technique with different existing methods by using six quality measures PSNR, SNR, MSE, NAE, Correlation Coefficient and SSIM. Comparative analysis shows our approach give the best performance results in terms of improved quality measures as well as visual interpretation.

In this paper method has been applied in the speckle noise reduction in medical imaging. Speckle Noise reduces the ability of an observer to distinguish fine details in diagnostic testing. It also limits the effective implementation of image processing such as edge detection, segmentation and volume rendering in 3 D. Therefore; treatment methods of speckle noise were sought to improve the image quality and to increase the capacity of diagnostic medical ultrasound images. The methods we used in this work are new, they are used in image processing, among their applications noise reduction in medical imaging. The use of wavelets has brought a new breath in the field of signal and image processing since its appearance. They make it possible to analyze and identify discontinuities of a signal to one or two dimensions and at different scales. This feature is used for image denoising. In the field of medical imaging, denoising seeks to discern relevant information in the medical field as the shape, contour, etc. Thresholding by wavelet, we can denoise an image by eliminating fine details.

Recently a more holistic approach that includes impairment, activation, and participation is recommended. This study investigated the difference between speech language pathologists (SLPs) ' awareness and preference of the assessment according to the clinical experience after adjustment of the medical center by regional groups. Sixty-two SLPs who work in 51 medical centers have completed the survey, and the data was analyzed via Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel Test. As a result, there is a significant difference between the SLPs surveyed who have less than 5 years experience and SLP's who have more than 5 years experience (p<0.05). Particularly in the preferences of assessment methods such as observation of intelligibility in conversation with SLPs, observation of AAC ability in the both technical ability and interaction, hierarchy of difficult communication situations, observation of interaction in conversation with others, and recording of communication in non-clinical situations. In the awareness of assessment, there are noticeable differences between the two aforementioned groups concerning the importance of assessing a communication partner's abilities (p<0.05).The results showed that the two groups of SLPs have different views regarding the awareness and preferences of assessment with progressive dysarthria according to their related clinical experience. Thus, it is necessary to develop and nurture guidelines with a more holistic approach to progressive dysarthria.

Shorea robusta is threatened these days due to sal borer attack, sal mortality, poor regeneration potential, edapho-climatic changes and various biotic interferences. No systematic attempts were made in India, to understand dynamism of its natural regeneration and to suggest management inputs to encourage its regeneration. The present study deals with the natural regeneration with particular reference to crop composition and community structure in Kanha Tiger Reserve in India. The results indicated that the average number of regeneration of sal seedlings per hectare worked out to be 1557 in core zone, 3446 in buffer zone and 7137 in in phen wild life sanctuary which are quite adequate. The distribution pattern of individuals of Shorea robusta trees in different girth classes was also seemed to be uninterrupted in most of the stands studied. This trend of uninterrupted distribution of Shorea robusta in different growth phases with plenty of established regeneration is the healthy sign of establishment and growth of Shorea robusta crop in the past in this area.

This study aims to identify the influencing factors on the preparation education for well-dying of university students. To this end, this study investigated the 162 medical science students who had attended the thanatology lecture at K-university in Daejeon Metropolitan city for 15 weeks from March 1 to August 31 2014 after excluding those non-respondents. As for the continuous variables, independent sample t-verification was performed. Also, multiple regression was conducted with the factors affecting educational contents as the dependent variables. As a result of conducting the thanatology lecture as a class of liberal studies for one semester, one lecture a week for 4 weeks to death preparation experts would be suitable(p<0.05) by making it as a regular class of university curriculum(p<0.001). Consequently, the education on death for undergraduate students of health and medical science department will lead to an increased need for understanding and death education on death by allowing them to look at their life and the phenomena related to death from the perspective of humanities and also the psychological and spiritual views. Moreover, it will be utilized as preliminary data for the development of death education program in addition to an improvement for the negative awareness of death among students.

This study has modeled numerous confounding parameters of seminal quality for the purpose of digging out the hidden relationship between these seminal parameters using Bayesian Belief Network (BBN). The data source for this study was retrieved from UCI machine learning repository. Etiological patterns were derived out of complex relationship of nine related attributes. We have shown that as compared to conventional statistical measures, BBN is quite useful in analysis of seminal quality as well as classifying an unknown instance. The outcome is composed of a predictive probabilistic model which can classify any new instance whether the seminal quality is altered or not. The observed accuracy of the model is highest (91%) whereas the previous highest accuracy was reported to be 86% only.

The existing home glucose meters have enabled patients to conduct the self-management of diabetes mellitus by displaying their blood glucose value. However, obtaining a more accurate risk level of diabetes mellitus requires consideration not only of the patient’s blood pressure and obesity, but also their first-degree relatives with diabetes. Therefore, in this study, we designed and suggested an intelligent sensor algorithm in order to analyze the risk level of diabetes for IoT-based u-health services. This algorithm is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the patient’s self-management provided that it functions effectively in a virtual sensor for diabetes. Finally, based on the findings of the experiment, its effectiveness was confirmed in the proposed model.

Response Surface Methodology(RSM) was applied to enzymatic polymerization of aniline, which was conducted in a closed system containing sodium acetate buffer and presence of poly(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate)(SPS) polyelectrolyte as a template with laccase enzyme to produce water soluble polyaniline. Laccase enzyme used as catalyst was isolated from Trametes versicolor (ATCC 200801). The enzymatic polymerization rate of aniline based on measurements of initial dissolved oxygen (DO) consumption rate in the closed system, was optimized by the application of RSM. The independent variables, which had been found the most effective variables on the initial DO consumption rate by screening experiments, were determined as monomer concentration, medium temperature and medium pH. A quadratic model was developed through RSM in terms of related independent variables to describe the initial DO consumption rate as the response. Based on statistic analysis, optimum reaction conditions for the maximum initial DO consumption rate determined 42.50 mM, 39.34 °C and 5.45 as monomer concentration, medium temperature and medium pH, respectively.

This study attempted to evaluate the impacts of viewing angle in watching stereoscopic images on heterophoria and accommodation. It divided students in one college located in Gumi City, who agreed to participate in this study, into two groups for classification by solid angle, horizontal heterophoria and accommodation before viewing, after 2D view-ing and 3D viewing were measured. As a result of the study, long distance horizontal heterophoria increased to exophoria after watching 3D images in both groups that watched them at a solid angle of 0.23sr and 0.10sr (p<0.05), and short distance horizontal heterophoria increased to exophoria in the group that watched the images at 0.23sr after watching 2D images and 3D images, and exophoria significantly increased in the group that watched them at 0.10sr after watching 3D images. Changes in positive relative accommodation after watching 2D images and 3D images significantly decreased with changes in solid angle (p<0.05). Changes in neg-ative relative accommodation were not statistically significant after watching 2D images and 3D images according to solid angle. The relevance of viewing angle of 3D images with horizontal heterophoria and ac-commodation had statistically significant differences (p<0.05).

This paper proposes 128x100 array fingerprint sensor with the modified parasitic insensitive switched capacitor integrator. The modified parasitic insensitive switched capacitor integrator includes four switches to eliminate parasitic capacitance and transfer a generated charge. The proposed circuit also frees from the influence of skin resistivity, because the effect of the voltage drop through skin resistor is very small. The scheme of one pixel includes a pixel level charge transfer and also parasitic insensitive switched capacitor integrator with a differential amplifier. The proper operation is validated by HSPICE for one-pixel and RTL simulation including logic synthesis for a full chip design on condition of 0.35μm typical CMOS process and 3.3V power. The layout is performed by full custom flow for one-pixel and auto P&R for a full chip. The area of a full chip is 8721 μm x 6921 μm and the gate count is 1,140,553. The area of one-pixel is 58 x 58 μm2. Pitch is 60 μm and image resolution is 423dpi.
