The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of an integrated information system adoption for the health promotion in patients with laparoscopic colon resection. The subjects of this paper were patients who had visited a general hospital which located in the area of metropolitan from July 8 to September 10, 2013. The total of 152 subjects were divided into experimental group 76 and control group 76. As a result, first, the present research showed the mean score of green tea drinking after intervention increased significantly than subjects(t=-5.28, p=0,000) before the intervention Second, the present research showed that the rate of the health improvement behavior of colon cancer patients can be increased to 75.4- 83.2% by the intervention. Therefore, the paper will contribute to the improvement in the quality of life through application of an integrated information system to solve problems from patients with laparoscopic colon resection.
Compact Low-cost Scanner for 3D-Reconstruction of Body Parts with Structured Light Illumination

This paper describes a low-cost miniaturized 3D reconstruction approach using structured light. By projecting known patterns onto a surface, shape and structure of the surface can be measured and characteristic parameters of deformation can be determined. Existing approaches use large geometries and complex optical components. Here we present our system with the size of a cigarette pack and a working distance of only 6 cm. The theoretical depth resolution of the system is determined by the resolution of the camera and the projector as well as the system geometry and was found to be about 100 μm.

This study is the investigate relationship between playfulness and sensory processing among children. We carries out questoinnaire survey to children about characteristics, sensory processing and playfulness. Male is higher than female as age in playfulness. There are relationship between sensory processing and playfulness. This study provide basic data in play type and activities for children.

With the prevalence of the Global Positioning System, an increasing number of electronic devices and vehicles have been equipped with a GPS module for a variety of applications including navigation and location-based search. Early GPS software was developed as monolithic tool in which all functions packed in the same software. But, these GPS software have the problems of the high cost of constructing system. close system architecture and the reusability. And there is a lack of interoperability between them because most of them have their own unique data format according to their application fields. Therefore in the paper new extended for better modeling GPS application in the UML Diagram are proposed, and the Implementation of a program called StereotypeCreator, which is able to create iconic stereotypes used in one of the most popular visual modeling tools for software development, Rational Rose, will be also proposed.

For achieving high security in varied areas, biometric system has become common analysis space over past decades. Biometric system provides machine-controlled personal identification supported distinctive features of an individual. Biometric system depends on distinguishing every individual on the premise of their physiological options (face, finger print, palm print, retina, iris) still as behavioral options (signature, key stroke, voice). Security will primarily be achieved by three factors: password or pin, sensible token or access card, biometric technology. Out of those three ways, biometric system is best as a result of user ought not to remember (password or pin) or keep something (smart token or access card) for identification or verification. In this paper present a novel approach iris recognition based on DCT Matrix coefficient and significant recognition rate as well as speed is achieved.
Analysis of Physiologic Effect of Snowboard Deck in Snowboarders

The purpose of this study is to provide evaluation data to examine and verify the effectiveness of the materials through physiological comparison and analysis of the new prototype snowboard deck with the existing equipments. In order to achieve the purpose, blood lactate concentrations and energy metabolic variables were measured from the targeted snowboarders. Five male snowboarders (Slope-style) volunteered to participate in the experiment. The experiment was conducted in slope-style course of “W” Ski Resort located in Gangwondo, Korea. One prototype deck and two existing deck were chosen for analysis. Each subject performed three runs with each “B”, “S” and “Y” deck. Blood samples were collected twice from the finger-tip at rest and immediately after completing the run in order determine the lactate concentration. In order to analyze the energy metabolic variables i.e. heart rate (HR), oxygen uptake (VO2), metabolic equivalent (MET) and total energy consumption (TEE), portable wireless gas analyzer and Polar heart rate monitor was used at rest as well as during the run. The result obtained from the analysis showed increased blood lactate concentration as well as higher oxygen uptake (VO2) at the point of Lactate Threshold (LT) when performing runs by installing “B” and “Y” decks than “S”. Furthermore with the increase in speed, depletion of energy sources as well as increased concentration of muscle fatigue substance also appeared in “B” and “Y” deck than “S” where blood lactate concentration and oxygen uptake are indicators of mobilization capacity of lactic acid system during energy metabolism.

This paper presents a high performance Two-stage operational amplifier for biomedical applications. This Two-stage is designed for low noise, low power, high PSRR and high CMRR. The Miller compensation technique (Cc) is used with a nulling active resistance (Rz) implemented using Transmission gate transistors for stable operation in feedback mode. The operational amplifier was manufactured in a SPECTRE using GPDK 0.90-um CMOS technology with threshold voltages of a 0.17 V and - 0.14 V achieve a low power 2.6uW, high CMRR up to 130dB and PSRR up to 70dB at 1V power supply.

This study was conducted to reveal medicinal effect of Berchemia berchemiaefolia (BB) extract for induced IBS-rat model. IBS was induced by injecting acetic acid into target of Spraque-Dawley rats' colon. Control group and experimental group were categorized as follows; Group I: control group (n=5), Group II: induced IBS (n=5), Group III: induced IBS+BB LD3 extract oral administration (n=5), Group Ⅳ: induced IBS+BB LD10 extract oral administration (n=5). The measurement of AWR was performed to determine the presence of disease leading and its alleviation. Also, we analyzed hematological factors, liver functional test, inflammatory factors, stress related factors, western blot and investigated significant differences in the variables among four groups. This research result shows that feeding orally BB extract to induced IBS rat alleviates violent contraction of colon of those rats.
Quality of Sleep in Predialysis Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease

The purpose of this study were to measure the prevalence of sleep disturbance in a prevalent population of chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and to examine the association between quality of sleep and the other variables in this population. The subjects of the study were 126 patients who visited the nephrology outpatient department of a tertiary hospital in Seoul between December 12th and December 23th, 2012 and consented to participate in the study. Descriptive were used to analyze the data with the SPSS Win 12.0 program. Sleep disorder was identified in 42.9% of the participants. Quality of sleep level showed a maximum score of 80 with a mean score of 48.6. There was a significant difference in the quality of sleep of the subjects at each stage(F=10.94, p=<.001). The Scheffe post hoc test confirmed that patients at higher stages had lower levels of quality of sleep. There were significantly positive correlations between quality of sleep and residual renal function(r=.368, p<.001), age(r=.184, p=.039), level of education(r=.188, p=.036) and hemoglobin(r=.396, p<.001). There were significantly negative correlations between quality of sleep and CRP(r=-.331, p<.001) and uremic symptoms(r=-.427, p<.001). Age(p=.001), level of education(p=.047), GFRs(p=.016), hemoglobin(p=.012), CRP(p=.006) and uremic symptoms(p=.014) predicted value accounted for 59.4% of the variance on quality of sleep(F=10.84, p<.001). Hence, health care providers should be concerned about helping to slow the progression of renal failure and considered related variables when planning an approach towards managing the sleep disorder in predialysis patients with CKD.

Biofuels are one of those renewable fuel sources developed to fuel the transportation sector to replace conventional petroleum based fuels. Due to widespread research and development programs from last two decades, significant progress has been made in the field of biofuels. The first and second generation biofuels are produced from various food crops and plant seed oils. Algae has been identified as a the potential source to produce biofuels, which can replace transportation fuels derived from fossil energy sources due to various advantages than the previous two generation feed stocks. The ability to produce high amounts of oil, efficiency in harvesting solar energy, adaptability to different climatic conditions and capability to produce valuable byproducts makes algae as a potential source for renewable energy source. In the present work the key concentration is directed towards producing renewable biofuels from algal biomass by transesterfication process. Its Characterization study reveals that algal based biodiesel is an alternative source of diesel.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the 3-step health education and tele-coaching program for the disabilities with hypertension in rural regions. Method: The interrupted time series/quasi-experimental study of one group was conducted for 15 months at the rural community health center. The 3-step health education and tele-coaching program was given to participants during 15months. Results: There were significant changes in self–management (F = 3.406, p < .01) and preferred salt concentration (F = 6.388, p < .001) between baseline assessment and other time points. No significant changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure were found between each time point and these physiological indicators were within a normal range over time. Conclusion: The tailored program for disabled people with hypertension is very effective in improving health-related behaviors regarding salt restriction and self-management of hypertension.

Handling uncertainty and impreciseness of knowledge appears to be a challenging task in Information Systems. Intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) set theory and rough set theory enhances databases by allowing it for the management of uncertainty and impreciseness. This paper presents a new efficient query optimization technique for the multi-valued or imprecise IF rough database. The usefulness of this technique was illustrated on malaria knowledge from the rural tribal communities of Tripura where most of the information is multi-valued and imprecise. Then the querying about knowledge on malaria is executed into SQL server to make the implementation of IF rough data querying simpler.
A Study of Drinking Habits in an Office Employees

Purpose: This study aims to understand drinking awareness, drinking experiences, problem drinking, the money paid annually for drinks by employees at a single company and provide basic data for the development of moderate drinking program customized for them. Methods: It was carried out with 1,838 male and female employees working at a single company in several regions in December 2012, and excluding 12 persons with a data error, subjects in the final analysis were 1,826 persons. For a statistical analysis, the SPSS 19.0 was used. Results: General characteristics of the subjects included questions asking their sex, age, position and monthly income. 194 persons (10.6%) experienced drunk driving at least once in their drinking experiences. The ratio of problem drinkers (over 13) through AUDIT-K was 495 persons (27.1%), and the ratio of those with alcohol abuse and dependence was 76 persons (4.2%). Conclusion: Through the above results, it was found that as specific solutions to the employees’ problematic alcohol abuse, improvement of their awareness of drinking culture and a project of improvement of drinking for them are necessary, and it is urgently necessary to develop an ongoing education program to detect and manage problem drinkers and those with alcohol abuse and dependence at the worksite.
Human Detection for an Interactive Art in a Dark Environment using the GPU Hardware

Human detection is the initial step of human recognition for an interactive system. A depth sensor is used to detect audiences in a dark environment, such as a media art exhibition or a theater. The depth data are converted to three-dimensional points using camera parameter. The detected human and the background are separated using the position of converted points. As these processes require much computation, in this study, we reduced the amount of computation time for real-time human detection systems through the GPU multi-threaded programming. The head and body are separated using the geometric characteristics of a human shape. The facial components are classified by analyzing projected curves of x- and y-coordination and by applying them to the geometrical characteristics of human face.

A special emphasis is devoted to initiating, developing and combining new physical properties within the heterometallic systems enclosing cores of three different spin-carriers. The rational inclusion of 3d and/or 4f cations within the same molecular entity could generate new categories of heterotrimetallic complexes which possesses the special properties on photo magnets, luminescent or chiral compounds or with combined properties, namely magneto-luminescence or magneto-chirality. These new molecular materials open large perspectives to developing molecular “prototypes” for revolutionary optical, high-storage devices or in quantum computing. In this research the synthesis and characterization of Heterotrimetallic complexes of the type [RuCl(PPh3)(L2)](where L=bidentate Schiff base ligand of ferrocenylthiosemicarbazone) was attempted by reacting [RuCl(PPh3)3] with bidentate Schiff base ligand of ferrocenylthiosemicarbazide. During this synthesis the complexes obtained have been characterized by Elemental analysis, IR and Electronic spectroscopy. This confirms Heterotrimetallic Fe(II)-Ru(III)-Fe(II) complex with PPh3. This complex finds its use as precursor for some carcinogenic drug and it paves the way to the area of superamolecular material research.
Wearable Multiple Bio-sensing Process Architecture in Human Healthcare Environments

Today, the interest toward human healthcare free from diseases is being converged as one system frame along with the development of wearable smart computing environments, diversification of remote medical system and aging society. Such IT-converged healthcare system enables implementation of a bioinformatics system created as various collected information by sensing and gathering health conditions and various bio-information of wearable users to set up medical-point information. The existing bio-information system performs single static and identical process without changes after the bio-information process defined at the initial system configuration executes the system. However, such single static process indicates ineffective execution in the application of mobile bio-information system performing mobile computing. This study proposes a dynamic process design and execution method to overcome such ineffective process. Moreover, it presents multiple processes scenarios extended from the single process scenario.

EMD Based Curve Evolution Method for Segmentation of Lungs on CT Scan Images

Medical imaging is the technique that is used to produce images of the human body or parts for clinical purpose. The CT image provides thorough information of structure of lungs, which could be used for better surgical preparation for treating Lung Cancer features. This work proposes a method for segmentation of lungs from the given CT images. Here a curve evolutional framework for segmentation is used. The flow fields driving the curves are based on the distributions of features in the inner and outer regions bounded by the curves. The segmentation method is automatic and shows good result.

This paper proposes 128x8 array swipe type fingerprint sensor with a capacitive-sensing technique for image enhancement. The circuit of one pixel includes a pixel level charge-sharing and charge pump to replace an ADC. The circuit also adopts the circuit technique that improves quality of dry finger image captured with capacitive fingerprint sensor LSIs. The proper operation is validated by HSPICE for one-pixel and RTL simulation including logic synthesis for a full chip design on condition of 0.35μm typical CMOS process and 3.3V power. The layout is performed by full custom flow for one-pixel and auto P&R for a full chip. The area of a full chip is 0.161mm2 (9013μm x 1781μm) and the gate count is 303,329. The area of one-pixel is 58 x 58 μm2. Pitch is 60 μm and image resolution is 423dpi.

DNA cryptography is used to encrypt message for secure communication on a network. It is a information carrier for transferring message from sender to receiver. For secure communication, it is not only to encrypt message but also necessary to hide encrypted message. DNA cryptography is also used for hiding the data, Hidden message is known by only sender and receiver. DNA computing is used to solve problems in cryptography, cryptanalysis and steganography. DNA sequences based data encryption seems to be a promising strategy for fulfilling the current information security needs. This paper focus on the comparative study of some existing works on DNA Cryptography. Message transmission is a process to transmit encrypted data through secure communication channel using DNA cryptography. Text message is encoded in DNA sequence. Message transmission process reduces the time complexity of transferring encrypted message. Bio molecular and one-time- pad technologies is used for secure message encryption.
The Effect of Kayak Foot brace on Forward Stroke and Stability of Boat in the Kayak Sprinting

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of kayak foot brace on forward stroke and boat’s stability. Thirteen male elite kayak athletes participated in this study. They were divided two groups (Foot brace group; FB and no-brace group; NF). All Kayak athletes performed kayak sprinting on flat water condition. Stroke, duration time, knee joint ROM, trunk rotation ROM, and boat stability were measured and analyzed. The results showed that FB group’s stroke duration time was significantly shorter than NF group’s. Knee joint ROM, trunk rotation ROM were increased, and boat’s roll angle ROM was decrease when using foot brace. The result can be utilized to design trunk ROM increasing training program.
A Management Program for University Students with Allergic Rhinitis

The purpose of this study was to develop a program for university health centers to help them cope with the rapidly increasing occurrence of allergic rhinitis. In order to develop the allergic rhinitis managing program, in-depth literature review, conducted surveys and physical check-ups and consulted with relevant professionals were done during the period from May, 2012 to April, 2013. Self-efficacy theory and self-regulation theory were utilized for the theoretical framework which resulted in a 6-session program that consisted of 6 weekly sessions being established. This program was created based on information gathered from various different sources and utilized the feed-back principle to focus on enhancing self-management abilities. The education program was established with regard to the sources of self-efficacy, that is, role performance, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion and Physiologic states. Making a pledge and taking quizzes were also used for self-regulation purposes. Proactive use of this program in the field is recommended.
