This study was conducted to investigate the effects of resistance, detraining and retraining on body composition, basic physical fitness and muscular strength restoration. The subjects were 25 healthy young male university students of 20 year-old. They performed muscular progressive resistance training for 12 weeks, detraining for 8 weeks and retraining for 12 weeks. Young males conducted a resistance training program for 90 minutes a day, 4 days per week. Data analyzing method was One-way repeated ANOVA(contrast) using PASW(ver 15.0 SPSS). The effects on body composition and physical fitness test and maximal muscular strength were measured each period. In the %fat, 12 weeks resistance training appeared significantly lower than that of retraining. In the physical fitness test, back strength and grip strength(R) of resistance retraining appeared significantly higher than that of pre- and detraining. And grip strength(L) of resistance retraining appeared significantly higher than that of detraining and detraining appeared significantly higher than that of pre-. Sit and reach of retraining appeared significantly higher than that of pre-, resistance training, and detraining. Also, sargent jump, reaction time and standing on one leg with eyes closed, resistance retraining appeared significantly improvement with pre- and detraining. In the 1-RM, dead lift of resisitance retraining appeared significantly higher than that of detraining. And bench press of resistance retraining appeared significantly higher than that of detraining. From these results, it was suggested that 12 weeks of resistance training may expected in keep the body healthy and improvement of physical fitness with respect to decrease of %fat, increase of physical fitness and 1-RM. In addition, detraining brought a negative result for body composition and fitness, but suggested that retraining after suitable rest could induced to positive physiological change.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of bicycle ergometer exercise on physical fitness(strength, flexibility, agility, balance, endurance) and activity of daily living(ADL) in elderly women with dementia. Forty patient were participated in the study as subjects and were assigned. The subjects carried on exercising, 30~60minute a day, 3 times per week for 10 weeks. Physical fitness and ADL were evaluated before and at the end of the program, using Senior Fitness Test and Korean Modified Bathel Index(K-MBI). The collected data were analyzed by paired t-test using PASW 18.0 Statistics. The results of this study were summarized as follows : There were significant improvement in strength of lower(p<.001) and upper extremity(p<.001), flexibility of lower(p<.001) and upper extremity(p<.001), balance(p<.001), endurance(p<.001) and ADL(p<.001) at time of pre and post following the exercise. Also, time of agility was sigificantly decrease(p<.001) at time of pre and post following the exercise. In conclusion, bicycle ergometer exercise can be effective on physical fitness and ADL in elderly women with dementia. In addition, this exercise may be prevent fall of the patient with dementia by improve strength of lower extremity and balance.

The Purpose of this study was to identify the Change of Motivation for Rehabilitation and Functional Activity on Photo Clue Method on the Hemiplegic Patients with Strokes and present grounds on clinical application of the results. The subjects of the study were a total of 20 hemiplegic patients with strokes in S hospital in S city. Then the control group (n=10) was given exercise therapy and the test group(n=10) was given photo clue and exercise therapy for 6 weeks. The photos were provided a total of four times every second week. They were interviewed with use of a questionnaire on self-esteem family support, and rehabilitation motivation before and after the test, and to identify changes in functional activity, K-MBI, Brunnstrome Stage, and TUG were measured and the results are presented as follows; (1) There were significant differences in rehabilitation motivation and Brunnstrome Stage of the test group. According to measuring time, significant differences were found in each group after the test. (2) There were significant differences in of K-MBI and TUG the test group over time. Therefore, it is suggested that photo clues provided for hemiplegic patients with strokes can be useful data as clinical data to recover functional activity and further studies on various approaches on its therapeutic intervention should be performed.

Boys diagnosed with ADHD by specialist pediatricians and stabilized on medication were assigned to a 72-session exercise therapy group(n=2) or control group(n=2). Boys were assessed pre-post-intervention on the Conners' Teacher Rating Scale-Revised : CTRS-R; Goyette & Ulrich, 1978), the Test of Variables of Attention(TOVA ; Greenberg, Cormna & Kindsch,1997), and the Motion Logger Actigraph.. The purpose of this study was to develop safe and effective exercise program for children and adolescents with ADHD. For the purpose, students aged 9 and above(2 subject) executed the 15-minutes exercise program for 24 weeks. The result were as follows; 1. 15-minutes Exercise Program demonstrated a hybrid intervention model for children and adolescents with ADHD by the gymnastics based on oriental medicine and Western medicine. 2. There was a significant difference in parameters of stress between pre and post exercise 3. There was a significant difference in self-behavioral inhibition between pre and post exercise 4. In this paper, an analysis was carried out to explore the effects of 12-week inline skate training on changes in basal physical strengths (muscular power, cardiopulmonary endurance, flexibility, explosive muscular strength, agility, balance, etc.) of the students with intellectual disability. For this purpose, 20 subjects were selected by the purposive sampling method among the students aged 17-19 with intellectual disability who were enrolled in a special school in J city, Jeollabuk-do and were assigned to the experimental group. The group underwent 60-minute long inline skate exercises 3 times a week during the program. Each time before and after the training, the basal physical strength of the trainees was tested. The variances used for measuring the basal physical strength in this study included muscular power by sit-up, cardiopulmonary endurance by long run, flexibility by trunkflexion, explosive muscular power by standing long jump, agility by shuttle run and sense of balance by foot balance. Matching samples were all put to t=test to examine the difference in the data measured before and after the training. From the analysis of the data measured before and after the training, it became evident that the 12-week inline skating program was very effective in promoting such basal physical strengths of the students with intellectual disability as muscular power, cardiopulmonary endurance, flexibility, explosive muscular strength and sense of balance, with statistically significant difference in each item revealed, though.
