The aim of this study is to suggest new city identity through analyzing matters relevant to city identity and city branding in the Gyeongju that has got the economic damage caused by decrease of city's competitiveness. The searching items of related matters are demanded actual Identity, conceived Identity, communicated Identity, ideal Identity, desired Identity and the brand slogan and character and logo of present Gyeongju city. The city identity of the Gyeongju that appears in analysis of each items compared with other cities are inferior relatively. Therefore, it is required that the city identity of the Gyeongju city should be improved. The plan for establishment of city identity on city Gyeongju are as follows ; 1. New suggestion about city brand essence through analyzing matters relevant to city identity. 2. Development plan of the brand slogan and character and logo of Gyeongju. 3. The advanced reforming will of the community to establish city identity.

This study aims to evaluate the practical strategies established for the downtown revitalization of Gyeongju city. This study reviews previous researches about downtown revitalization and examines major plans established for the downtown revitalization of Gyeongju city. For example this study scrutinizes major public plans such as, 2020 Urban Master Plan, Master Plan for the Establishment of Gyeongju Historical and Cultural City, Master Plan for the Revitalization of Downtown Economy and etc. Based on the findings from the analyses this study propose public considerations and strategical approaches for the enhancement of the downtown revitalization efforts of the Gyeongju city.

When the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident occurred in March of 2011, a hydrogen explosion in the reactor building at the 4th unit of Fukushima plants led to a big surprise because the full core of the unit 4 reactor had been moved and stored underwater at the spent nuclear fuel storage pool for periodic maintenance. It was because the possible criticality in the fuel storage pool by coolant loss may yield more severe situation than the similar accident happened inside the reactor vessel. Fortunately, it was assured to be evitable to an anxious situation by a look of water filled in the storage pool later. In the paper, the safety state of the spent fuel storage pool and rack structure. The impacts influenced on the performance and safety of a repository are classified as units of features, events, and processes, for the total system performance assessment related to the permanent disposal of HLW. The importance is evaluated in consideration of the frequency, consequence, regulation, suitability of a specific site, etc. A scenario describing the migration of radionuclide from the repository to the biosphere is derived from understanding the interaction among these groups.

This study is a qualitative study on the job experience of immigrant women in Gyeongju. The purpose of this paper was to find the relation of female married immigrants’ job activities and psychological adjustment by talking with female married immigrants who had job activities. With reference to psychological adjustment, this study chose 3 sub factors – self-esteem, life satisfaction and psychological stability. For achieving this objective, this study was conducted targeting 7 married immigrants women recommended from social enterprise ‘ODS Multiculture Company’ and counselor in Gyeongsan multicultural family center. They are from Vietnam, China, Kyrgyzstan and Cambodia. Data are collected from interview and chatting. Results are as follows; First, working was helpful to build positive self-esteem and psychological stability. However, to make a life satisfaction higher, it required husband/other family member’s support for compatibility between office work and housework. Second, this study suggested that policy development by adaptation step, the academic system for foreign education approval, and practical support for job were needed. Additionally, this study verified the value as human resources of female married immigrants.

This study aims to forecast the number of foreign visitors, mainly japanese and chinese tourists to Gyeong-ju city until 2013 year, using quantitative method. For this study, three quantitative forecasting models were compared and Winters model was selected as a final research model for forecasting the Gyeong-ju tourists demand. The results of this study show that the number of japanese tourists until 2015 year will decrease slowly, but the number of chinese tourists will increase. Neverthless japanese tourists will still dominate in Gyeong-ju until target year, i.e., 2015 aimed in this study. For this reason regional policymakers must concentrate their efforts on japanese tourists in the short terms. But from viewing the long terms it is necessary to concentrate their efforts on chinese tourists as well because it is predicted that chinese tourists will dominate in regional tourist market in the future.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how to promote tourist business of Gyeongju city. The solutions of this problem are, first, the development of explanation program of cultural heritages, second, preservation, restoration and reappearance of cultural heritages and surrounding environments, third, the making of tourism resources of Gyeongju residents' living figures, fourth, the making of tourism product of local tradition and industry, fifth, the improvement of tourism system and downtown area, sixth, the improvement of accessibility to Gyeonggju city, seventh, internal pricing, eighth, the cultivation of cultural industry, eighth government supports including allowing casino for domestic citizens.

Visitor complaints due to the recreational ATVs(All Terrain Vehicles) has been a major management issue in the Bomoon Tourist Complex in Gyeongju. This kind of problem has long been conceptualized by leisure researchers as recreation conflicts, which provided theoretical frame for this study. In order to examine the recreation conflict held by different recreationist groups in Bomoon, namely walking visitors and ATV riders, two sets of questionnaire was prepared. Overall 357 visitors in Bomoon participated in the survey, comprising 191 walking visitors and 166 ATV riders. T-test and regression analysis were performed to determine the important conflict inducing factors and recreation conflict's differences, coping behavior, and restriction method at the Bomoon Tourist Complex's walking road.

This research was carried out in order to survey the current state of the care givers in the formal service sectors and to provide policy implications for developing care workforce management system in Gyeongju. In this research, a survey of 195 care givers in the long-term care facilities for the elderly were carried out in order to find out their current state involved in the job. The results of this research suggest that there is a need to establish an adequate workforce development and management system for long-term care of the elderly in Gyeongju. More in-depth and on-going study of the care givers are needed in order to develop training and career development programs. Information centers that could function as the clearinghouse for the data base of care givers at the local levels may be helpful in coordinating the care givers and the consumers. This center could provide information and referral services and training services as well. The local governments need to play leading roles in experimenting with pilot-projects which respond to the local needs of providing a stable and qualified workforce that are essential in creating high quality and sustainable long-term care system in Gyeongju.
