Within five years of Kim Jong-un's rise to power, North Korea conducted four nuclear tests and launched the Hwasong-15, an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), in 2017, declaring the completion of its nuclear forces. During the period when Kim Jong-un completed nuclear forces to maintain the regime, foreign policy factors of the United States, China, Russia, and South Korea drove North Korea's accelerated nuclear development. The main motivating factors were the hostile policies and external threats as security factors. The completion of nuclear forces is also the result of the interplay of domestic political factors, normative factors, and hereditary factors. North Korea has been developing nuclear weapons and missiles for the survival of its regime. To achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula, a new modus vivendi must be sought. It is necessary to set the ultimate goal of North Korea's complete denuclearization and engage in strategic thinking for a realistic and effective phased approach.

This study aims to explore improvement measures for the linkage system between the police and social welfare agencies in responding to domestic violence and child abuse issues in South Korea by comparing and analyzing the current systems in South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Despite the legal and institutional foundations for victim protection and perpetrator correction in each country, the effectiveness of actual cooperation faces several limitations. In South Korea, the level of cooperation is insufficient due to the lack of information sharing, role conflicts, and ambiguity of cooperation procedures. The United States and the United Kingdom operate more systematic cooperation programs, showing notable achievements in mental health crisis intervention and domestic violence response. To improve the linkage system in South Korea, this study proposes the following measures: (1) developing a clear cooperation protocol, (2) conducting regular education and training programs, (3) establishing an integrated information system, and (4) strengthening the victim-centered approach. Implementing these measures will contribute to more effective responses to domestic violence and child abuse issues, ultimately leading to a healthier and safer society by reducing social costs through victim protection and perpetrator correction.

In Dangjin, Chungcheongnam-do, there are not only power plants and large steel complexes, but also small and medium-sized air pollutant emission facilities. The dust generated by these facilities has a very small particle size and a large surface area due to condensation and physical and chemical reactions, and is discharged containing various harmful substances. Therefore, this study analyzed the distribution of particulate matter and heavy metal concentrations by particle size in the vicinity of the steel complex, residential area, and reference point using an eight-stage Cascade Impactor. Overall, the direct impact sites with a short distance from the steel complex had the highest concentration, followed by the indirect impact sites, and the non-impact sites had the lowest concentration, indicating that they are directly affected by the steel complex. The atmospheric dust concentration distribution showed a bimodal distribution with a minimum value around the 1.1 to 2.1 μm particle diameter. However, during the yellow dust event, the maximum concentration was biased toward coarse particles. The proportion of PM2.5 in the dust tended to be higher in winter, while the ratio between PM2.5 and PM10 was relatively higher in spring. Regardless of the location of the impact point, heavy metals in the dust were dominated by iron and aluminum, followed by zinc, lead, and manganese.

During an X-ray examination, the beam of radiation is dispersed in many directions. We believe that managing radiation dose is about providing transparency to users and patients in the accurate investigation and analysis of radiation dose. The purpose of measuring the radiation dose as a function of location is to ensure that medical personnel using the equipment or participating in the operating room are minimally harmed by the different radiation doses depending on their location. Four mobile diagnostic X-ray units were used to analyze the radiation dose depending on the spatial location. The image intensifier and the flat panel detector type that receives the image analyzed the dose by angle to measure the distribution of the exposure dose by location. The radiation equipment used was composed of four units, and measuring devices were installed according to the location. The X-ray (C-arm) was measured by varying the position from 0 to 360 degrees, and the highest dose was measured at the center position based on the abdominal position, and the highest dose was measured at the 90° position for the head position when using the image intensifier equipment. The operator or medical staff can see that the radiation dose varies depending on the position of the diagnostic radiation generator. In the image intensifier and flat panel detector type that accepts images, the dose by angle was analyzed for the distribution of exposed dose by position, and the measurement method should be changed according to the provision of dose information that is different from the dose output from the equipment according to the position.

The study introduces and validates a model of post-traumatic growth among parents of children with special needs. The model incorporates cognitive processes, coping strategies, and sociocultural factors as intra-personal variables. The statistical analysis unveiled significant pathways that connect the factors, explaining 71% of the variance associated with post-traumatic growth. The study highlighted intentional reflection and robust decentralization skills as crucial factors that predict post-traumatic growth. Deliberate rumination functioned as a mediating factor, reducing the impact of trauma and facilitating post-traumatic growth, while social support played a crucial role in initiating purposeful rumination. The study findings indicate that the effect of self-disclosure on post-traumatic growth is not direct but rather indirect, as it is mediated by its influence on social support and deliberate rumination. The study underscores the significance of examining particular characteristics of social support networks and suggests integrating additional variables for future research, such as gender, types of traumatic events, and the age of children with disabilities.
