The Purpose of this study is searching the effect of the flow level increasing by using flow learning on scientific achievement and attitude toward science in 4rd grade elementary school student's scientific learning factors, and the better way to approach scientific institude than now in used. Participants included 52 elementary school students. For this study, two classes were divided into experimental class and control class. The control class takes a regular instructions and the experimental class takes a flow learning instructions. Two chapter were selected, 'Plant's World' and 'Fossil and Rock', for this study. Students were treated for 18 hours. The results were as follows: First, flow learning related program about plant's world, fossil and rock is increasing 4rd grade elementary school students' flow level in science class. Second, students are not increasing their scientific achievement according to increasing their flow level. Third, students are not increasing their attitude toward science according to increasing their flow level. But in attitude toward scientific inquiry, adoption of attitude toward science and preference of job related science subordinated, students are increasing subordinate factors of attitude toward science.

This study examined the learning tendency & social characteristics and the science camp participation attitude of the global science talented and the science gifted c. The survey was carried out on children who are taking part in Global Bridge project group and in Science Education Institute for the gifted S National University of education. The results of this study were as follows. First, the science gifted children was more superior to the global science talented, when it comes to task commitment and fluency, creativity, enthusiasm for learning on the learning tendency. Second, the science gifted children have much more sociality than the global science talented in the sense of social characteristics. The global science talented showed lack of interpersonal relationship & confidence for human relationship. Third, both parties were positive in terms of attitude which participating science camp. It was proved that science camp made a positive affect on both groups in several senses such as improving awareness & attitude of science activity and enhancing sociality. As a result, unlike ordinary program for the science gifted children, one for the global science talented in global bridge project is highly demanded that it should be considered the characteristics of the multi-cultural students. Moreover, it might be considered that educational circumstance would be needed, under which it is able to stimulates students' scientific curiosity throughout launching science hands-on program, such as systemized science camp etc.

The purposes of this research are to analyze preservice elementary teachers' degree of difficulty in classes of seasonal variation and suggest the measures of classes so that preservice elementary teachers can progress classes of seasonal variation effectively. To achieve them, the research was conducted for 90 first graders completing teaching method of elementary science in P university of education from Sep. to Dec. 2012. This research was conducted, based on the results of in-depth interview for 9 preservice elementary teachers who performed classes of seasonal variation, survey on the degree of class difficulty and evaluation of classes on 8 classes theme of Earth sector in elementary science. The results of this research are as follows. The first, preservice elementary teachers had relatively high class difficulty for teaching seasonal variation among the sector of the earth in elementary science. The second, in the evaluation of preservice elementary teachers' classes, the more the subject showed high class difficulty, the more the score of class evaluation was low. The reason is analyzed that high class difficulty reduces teacher's confidence. The third, preservice elementary teachers had insufficient knowledges and concepts which are basically necessary for the classes of seasonal variation. Especially, it was more serious for preservice elementary teachers who didn't learn Earth-science during their high school time. The fourth, it is necessery that concrete and systematical teaching method should be developed so as to improving preservice elementary teachers' teaching method for the classes of seasonal variation.

The purpose of this study is to use DARTs (Directed Activities Related to text) to foster inquiry problems while actively engaging accelerated gifted elementary students in the field of earth sciences. This study is continually evolving in the classroom on the proposition that accelerate the scientific thought whether inquiry problems show any change according to the extent of prior background knowledge through DARTs. Researchers appointed the accelerated gifted elementary students with 14 investigation problems and it was their duty to not only classify the inquiry problems, but to analyze using interviewing methods according to type classification framework. Many scientific terms were used concretely in the inquiry problems that were propose after DART. The students gave a direct effect to the inquiry problem to be proposed according to the level of the content that it is presented in the DARTs worksheet. As a result, the NP-IP type and the EC-IP, NC-IP inquiry problem type proposed above much as a whole in DARTs former and prior. Particularly, the EMC-IP type and etc. was variously proposed after the DARTs. And the students proposing the inquiry problem of above average proposed the inquiry problem of the EP-IP type much unlike the general average student after the DARTs. The EC-IP, NC-IP and NF-IP type were changed much after DARTs used. Particularly, the EC-IP and NC-IP type were changed much.

The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the role-playing analogy activity-based class on the academic achievement in science and the science process skills of elementary school students. One experimental group and one control group of 4th grade students were selected to perform a prior investigation on the academic achievement in science and the science process skill. Then the experimental group attended science lessons that were based on the role-playing analogy activity and the control group attended the traditional science lessons based on the text book and teacher’s guide. After conducting lessons, a post investigation was performed for each group and the results were analyzed to produce the following conclusions. First, the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to improve students' academic achievements than the traditional science class. And the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to learners in the high-level group, which made a scores above the average in prior investigation on the academic achievement, whereas it was little effective to those in the low-level group. Second, the role-playing analogy activity class was effective to enhance students' science process skills than the traditional science class. And the role-playing analogy activity class was more effective to the learners’ in the high-level group than those in the low-level group.
한국과 북한의 과학 교과서에서의 ‘지구과학’ 내용 비교 분석

This research is aimed to examine the differences through comparative analysis of the Earth Science contents in the science textbooks between Korea and DPRK. The contents of level and scope in science textbooks between Korea and DPRK are analysed by TIMSS frameworks. The results of this research are as follows : 1. The science textbooks of DPRK is lower in quality of paper, printing to that of Korea, and the illustrations, editing design in the textbooks of DPRK are fewer, monochromic and monotonous while those in Korea. 2. The contents of Earth Science in DPRK's science textbooks rank 37.0%, but those of Korea's science textbooks rank 25.5% of the whole textbooks. The learning units related to Earth Science are generally similar to the level and scope in science textbooks between Korea and DPRK. The type of inquire activities in the textbooks of DPRK largely takes on the model experiment, and it was shown that the number of experiments directly made by children is very small compared to Korea' textbooks. 3. There are lots of differences in Earth Science learning terms and predicates used in the textbooks between Korea and DPRK.

This research analyzed elementary teacher’s scientific questioning during science teaching. This research studied 4 elementary school teachers in Gyeongnam were observed and the classes were videotaped. all teacher’s questioning and student's answering were transcribed. Teacher's questionings were categorized into 2 types such as simple questions and productive questions. The findings of the research were as following. First, in the teaching-learning activities of the science subject, teacher-student conversation was used 202 times on average, and questions asked by the teachers were 72 times on average. The teachers use productive questions more than simple questions. Second, in the type of simple questions, management questions were used the most, and the next were simple confirmation questions and rethink questions in order. Third, productive questions used by the teachers in the class were mostly the attention-focussing questions, but the type of higher level questions such as problem-posing questions, comparing questions, action questions and reasoning questions was rarely adopted.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science-based STEAM astronomical learning program on space perception ability and scientific attitudes. For this study the 5 grade, 2 class was divided into a research group and a comparative group. The class was pre-tested in order to ensure the same standard. Space perception ability test and scientific attitudes test was used to find the effect of the science-based steam astronomical learning program. And the results were analyzed by spsswin 18.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was a positive effects on space perception ability of elementary students. Second, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was a positive effects on scientific attitudes of elementary students. According to this research, the science-based STEAM astronomical learning program was verified to improve space perception ability and scientific attitudes on the elementary students.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of small inquiry method on space perception ability and creative personality. Testees of this research are 36 elementary pre-service teachers taking an astronomical observation class. Doing inquiry activity after 36 elementary pre-service teachers are classified into 6 Jigsaw small inquiry. Learning activity was split into two groups, expert group and a population. To find out research outcome, pre-test was executed space perception ability test, creative personality test. Analysis of test result was accomplished with statistical package SPSS 18.0 paired t testing hypothesis. The results of this study are as follows. First, 'source of season change' class using Jigsaw small inquiry method has effect on space perception ability improvement. This was interpreted that space perception ability improvement was effective because characteristic of Jigsaw small inquiry is made up of lots of semin Second, 'source of season change' class using Jigsaw small inquiry method has no effect on creative personality. This was interpreted that experiment and discussion activity getting accomplished in a short time has no effect on qualitative characterizing Creative Personality improvement.
