Proper indication of emergent cardiac anomalies is essential to saving human lives. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are mainly considered for indicating cardiac status. This work proposes a model that discriminates emergent cardiac anomalies (e.g. ventricular tachyarrhythmia, congestive heart failure, malignant ventricular ectopy, supraventricular arrhythmia) from normal cardiac status using an artificial neural network. The histogram of gradient (HOG) and principal component analysis (PCA) are applied to extract generic features of the ECG signals. Five auto-associative multilayer perceptrons (AAMLP) concatenated in a cascade manner are proposed for classification of four emergent cardiac ECG signals and normal ECG signals, which was developed for implementing a primitive prototype for a mobile bio-healthcare system. Experimental results show that the proposed model successfully classifies emergent cardiac anomalies.

Predicting protein 3D structures from the amino acid sequence is still a hard and unsolved task after five decades of efforts. High-resolution models can be built only if the target protein has a known homologue. If not, it must be built from scratch which yields in most cases to protein models of low-resolution, i.e. far from their native structure. In this paper, we present a new refinement method of 3D protein predicted models. The new method relies on the motion that the atoms in a protein take randomly in the 3D space leading to folding. Experimental results using the CASP benchmark show the assessment and the quality of the new method in comparison with the traditional methods that depend on molecular dynamics simulation. We prove that 55 % of cases were successfully enhanced by the new method.

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affect a nurse’s turnover intention. A questionnaire survey was conducted on nurses working for general hospitals in South Korea, and the data obtained from the accomplished questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS Windows 18.0. Factors influencing the turnover intention of a nurse were identified as innovative culture (β=-0.09), relational culture (β=-0.43), hierarchical culture (β=0.43), workplace bullying (β=0.53), and work burnout (β=0.27). The results indicate the major factors influencing the turnover intention of a nurse. Therefore, these factors may serve as predictors of nurse's turnover intention how this would benefit an employer.

This article is dealing with state-of-the-art in the field of swipe fingerprint sensors. It is trying to found out which sensor technology is the most produced nowadays. As it turns out the most used is some variation of the capacitive technology. This technology is the most promising for the future research.

GC/MS ingredient analysis and TD GC/MS analysis was performed to identify the components causing insecticidal activity among the variable components contained in jasmine tea. In the results, it was identified that the caffeine of 86.73% contained in the jasmine tea and the major essential oils in jasmine tea were delta-3-carene(23.61%), dl-limonene(16.35%), 2-beta-pinene(14.70%) and alpha-pinene, (-)-(12.17%). It was examined the insecticidal effect of the ethanolic extracts of jasmine tea on house dust mites by concentrations(1.0, 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625㎎/40㎕). At the concentration of extract 1㎎/40㎕ and 0.5㎎/40㎕, a mortality rate of 100% was observed. At the concentration of extract 0.25㎎/40㎕, the mortality rate of 91.25% was observed. At the concentration of extract 0.125㎎/40㎕, the mortality rate of 40% was observed. These results suggest that jasmine tea ethanol extract shows a high insecticidal effect (>91.25%) at concentrations of 0.25㎎/40㎕ or higher. The insecticidal effects of the caffeine standard and 9 kinds of essential oil standards contained in the jasmine tea were measured in order to verify the insecticidal effect of jasmine tea. The caffeine showed a high insecticidal effect (>74.09%) at concentrations of 0.125㎎/40㎕ or higher. The delta-3-carene showed a high insecticidal effect (>94%) at concentrations of 0.125㎎/40㎕ or higher and a 70.84% insecticidal effect at a concentration of 0.0625㎎/40㎕. 2-beta-pinene, trans-caryophyllene, and gamma-terpinene showed high insecticidal effects (>80%) at concentrations of 0.25㎎/40㎕ or higher.
