Purpose : This study is to identify job stress and quality of life in health managers with over two years’ experience, working in large workplaces (300+ full-time workers) since COVID-19. Methods : The data were collected from 125 health managers through an online survey from October 28 to November 3, 2021 with an IRB approval and analyzed. The statistical methods included t-test, variance analysis, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression. Results : Health managers experienced high job demands, low autonomy, and insecurity. Gender differences were observed in job demands and autonomy. Quality of life was lower in physical health but higher in the psychological area. Various personal and workplace characteristics influenced the differences in job stress and quality of life. Strong correlations were found between job stress and quality of life sub-areas. Conclusion : To reduce job stress and enhance health managers' quality of life in large workplaces, organizational measures, physical health programs, and differentiated approaches based on personal and workplace characteristics are recommended. Addressing key stressors such as relationship conflict, inadequate compensation, and workplace culture is crucial for improvement. These suggestions aim to create a more suitable working environment for health managers' responsibilities in health and safety.

Purpose : This study analyzes the introduction and evolution of the occupational health manager system in South Korea from 1994 to 2024 and defines their roles by identifying key attributes, antecedents, and outcomes. Methods : The study used Walker and Avant's (2019) concept analysis method to analyze domestic literature and academic journals published between 1994 and 2024. A total of 9 studies were chosen from an initial set of 518. To address the research limitations, the study also examined policy documents and government reports, expanding the reference pool with additional keywords. Results : The roles of occupational health managers have expanded from focusing on preventing occupational diseases and industrial accidents to including mental health management, infectious disease prevention, and support for multicultural workers. Key attributes include planning skills, health promotion program management, collaboration, psychological support, and the ability to respond to infectious diseases. Conclusion : Occupational health managers play a crucial role in protecting workers' health and strengthening occupational health systems. Systematic education, better qualifications, workforce expansion, and policy support are necessary. This study provides a foundation for enhancing their roles and guiding future policy development.

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the effects of nursing organizational culture, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on the retention intention among nurses. Methods : A descriptive correlational study was conducted on 170 nurses who had worked for over one year at a general hospital with 300+ beds in U city. The data were collected from March 4 to March 26, 2024, using structured questionnaires. Results : The most significant factors affecting nurses' retention intention were organizational commitment (β=.353, p<.001), followed by relationship-oriented culture (β=.201, p<.05), hierarchy-oriented culture (β=.198, p<.05), and job satisfaction (β=.145, p<.05). These factors explained 45.6% of the variance in retention intention among nurses. Conclusion : The findings suggest that in order to enhance nurses’ retention intention, it is necessary to improve organizational commitment and create a balanced organizational culture that integrates both relationship- and hierarchy-oriented aspects. Additionally, strategies to increase job satisfaction should be implemented. These efforts will contribute to maintaining skilled nursing personnel and improving the quality of healthcare services.

Purpose : This study aimed to examine the relationship between frequency of physically demanding work activities, and work-related musculoskeletal pain among teachers in childcare centers. Methods : An online survey was conducted on 196 teachers employed at public childcare centers in metropolitan areas of South Korea. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis. Results : A total of 93.9% of participants reported experiencing musculoskeletal pain in at least one body region within the past year. The most frequently affected areas, in the order of reported pain severity, were the lower back, shoulders, neck, and hands·wrists·fingers. Tasks involving frequent bending and lifting—such as those performed during outdoor play guidance, naptime assistance, and mealtime supervision—were significantly correlated with greater lower back pain. Pain severity was also associated with teachers’ age, years of experience, homeroom assignment, and the absence of assistant teachers. Conclusion : Work-related musculoskeletal pain among childcare center teachers is concentrated in specific upper-body regions and is significantly associated with the frequency and nature of physically demanding tasks. Individual characteristics and occupational conditions also influence pain severity. To mitigate work-related musculoskeletal pain, systematic task analysis, ergonomic interventions, strategic staffing of assistant teachers, and implementation of health promotion programs are recommended. Further research can expand these findings to a broader range of childcare settings and occupational structures.
