Purpose : This study evaluates the effectiveness of tuberculosis prevention and patient care program (TPPC) in the workplace. Methods : Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, we provided TPPC to small and medium-sized enterprises (N=59), and surveyed tuberculosis patient care, work environment management and workers’ perceptions of tuberculosis, before and after TPPC. Results : We found TPPC was very helpful to lower the prevalence of tuberculosis, increase the rate of follow-up examination of abnormal patients on chest X-rays, and improve the working environment including ventilation facilities at workplace. Also TPPC had a positive effect on workers’ perception of tuberculosis. Conclusion : By providing TPPC to small and medium-sized businesses, the blind spot of health care, it is possible to increase awareness and practice of tuberculosis prevention in the workplaces.

Purpose : This paper reports the findings of a descriptive research that measured health status of workers, and examined the determinants of the quality of life. Methods : We surveyed 575 people from 45 largesized company with 300 or more employees in Daejeon City and Chungcheong-do, from January 2010 to March 2010. Results : The data of SF-12 said the mean score of respondents’ health status was 75.5±4.59 points. To identify the factors affecting the quality of life, we made two models using multiple regression analysis. Model I found a higher life satisfaction in the respondents with annual income over 40,000,000 won, office-based job, less working hours, younger age, and higher SF-12 total score. The Model Ⅱ illustrated the employees with annual income of over 40,000,000 won, office-based job, less working hours, younger age, and higher score in MCS presented higher score in SWLS. Conclusion : The study confirmed that the health level of workers has a significant influence on the quality of life of workers. Improving workers’ health level, therefore, is very important for improving their quality of life. Especially, since the mental health index of workers has a substantial effect on the quality of life, taking an active way to reduce the workers' stress and improve their mental health is necessary.

Purpose : This study measures the degree of sexual harassment and verbal abuse from customers and analyzes their effect on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention of hotel employees. Methods : We collected the data with questionnaire from 240 employees of five different hotels and analyzed 231 effectual responds among them. We analyzed this data through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s coefficient, multiple regression analysis, using SPSS 23.0. Results : The result of a multiple regression analysis conducted with general characteristics and degree of sexual harassment and verbal abuse from customers appeared as following: the ability of the analysis of job satisfaction results was 24.0% (p<.001); the ability of the analysis of organizational commitment results was 13.0% (p<.001); and the turnover intention results was 14.0% (p<.001). Conclusion : The verbal abuse from customers causes a negative effect on organizational commitment and turnover intentions as well as on job satisfaction of hotel staff. Therefore, for not only the job stabilization of hotel workers but also the organizational stabilization, organizational efforts to prevent verbal abuse from customers at the hotel industry level are necessary.

Purpose : This study examines the effects of health behaviors on job burnout by analyzing transport workers' data. Methods : We surveyed 260 workers of 6 transport companies in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Busan, and Gwangju from February 21 and March 12, 2018. Taking the results, we performed frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA and linear regression analysis using the SPS 18.00 statistical program. Results : Analysis showed that exercise was deeply related to job burnout among transport workers' health behaviors. In case of no exercise more than three times a week, the rate of experiencing job burnout was significantly higher. Conclusion : To reduce job burnout, therefore, developing and applying customized exercise programs for transport workers is necessary.

Purpose : This study examines the relationship between health behaviors and metabolic syndrome of female workers by using the data of Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Methods : The subjects were 949 female wage earners measured to have the risk factors of metabolic syndrome among the respondents to Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2010. Results : Female workers' prevalence rate of metabolic syndrome was 12.1%, and, among their health behaviors, the variables having significant effects on metabolic syndrome were drinking and smoking. Conclusion : Therefore, to prevent female workers' metabolic syndrome, multiple intervention programs related to obesity, drinking and smoking should be introduced and applied, and the intervention programs for vulnerable workers with low household income and low education levels should be actively developed and carried out.
