Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between employment type and jab stress in the Korean government employees. Methods : The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 252 employees at 3 public enterprises located in Gyeonggi Province. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, x 2-test, t-test, multiple regression analysis by using SPSS 18.0. Results : The results are as regular employees scored 42.41 and non-regular employees scored 46.20 out of 100 in job stress, thus showed a significant difference(p=.003). Analysis of factors influencing job stress demonstrated that males, employees of “U city” and “S city”, and non-regular employees showed significantly high work-related stress. Conclusion : It is required to developing plans to resolve and manage job stress is thought to be necessary not only in an individual perspective but also in an organizational perspective. Especially the factors causing job stress of non-regular employees should be managed properly.

Purpose : The findings of physical examination for workers show that the number of people with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, or obesity is increasing day by day and the diseases are known as risk factors for cerebrocardiovascular diseases. Methods : The subjects of this study were 201 adult workers who were possible to be followed up for their records of physical examination over the last ten years. Additionally the changes in risk factors according to general characteristics, health related habits and job related characteristics were investigated along with the affecting factors on the change. Results : Blood pressure was increased by 6.7㎜Hg in systolic pressure and 1.4㎜Hg in diastolic pressure, total cholesterol 15.7㎎/㎗, fasting blood sugar 10.1㎎/㎗ and BMI 0.8±1.49kg/㎡ respectively. In case of long work experience, systolic blood pressure was changed. There is a significant change in diastolic blood pressure when no current shift is performed. In married people, fasting blood sugar was more likely to change. There is a significant change in BMI in those who do not currently smoke and young. Conclusion : In order to effectively carry out workers' health management, it is necessary to carry out systematic and comprehensive management by occupational health manager in the workplace.

Purpose : This study was to identify the level of knowledge and attitude toward tuberculosis among workers in small workplaces and to analyze the factors affecting preventive action in an effort to effectively manage TB. Methods : The analysis was conducted on workers in small workplaces with less than 50 employees nationwide. The final questionnaire was distributed to 420 workers, and the final 354 respondents were asked. Of the 39 workers who responded poorly, 315 data were analyzed. Results : The average score of knowledge of TB in small-scale workplaces was 15.16 points, the average score of attitude toward TB was 44.23 points and the average score of preventive action against tuberculosis was 41.06 points. Factors affecting preventive action against TB include those who are more satisfied with the job than those who are not satisfied with the occupation, the industry is the service industry than manufacturing, the higher the TB knowledge and the higher the attitude toward TB The score of preventive action was higher. Conclusion : Through this study, it is necessary to establish measures to improve the job satisfaction of the workers because the score of the preventive action is higher as the satisfaction of the occupation of the small workplace is higher. The higher the knowledge level of TB, the more positive the attitude toward tuberculosis was, the higher the score of preventive action was. Therefore, positive attitude and awareness about tuberculosis were instilled and continuous education was provided by developing various types of educational contents suitable for each industry It is necessary to improve the level of knowledge and attitude and to be able to prevent TB well.

Purpose : Drivers engaged in transportation business suffer from frequent shift work, overwork, irregular meals, night time shifts, lack of sleep etc, which may give physical and environmental harm to the workers' health, and to be exposed to the early aging, alcoholism, smoking, and lack of exercise etc. Thus this study tries to figure out the characteristics of work in transportation business such as taxi or truck driving, and conduct a comparative study on the health-promoting lifestyles for them. Methods : This study surveyed the male drivers engaged in the transportation businesses, which consist of 140 taxi drivers and 117 bus drivers. Results : The respondents showed that the degree of their practice of health-promoting lifestyle is, for taxi drivers, 2.47± 0.25 of 4, for bus drivers, 2.63± 0.29 of 4. As for the self-realization of taxi/bus drivers respectively was 2.69 and 2.93, the physical activities was 2.21 and 2.36. their health was, and the less they felt fatigue, the more they worried about their health. Conclusion : We need better health-promotional program can raise concerns about the drivers' health and improve their subjective health-perception. Also, it is necessary to lower their fatigue and conduct health-promotional programs.

Purpose : This study was conducted to analyze the factors that influence industrial health practices by recognizing chemical handling workers' Material Safety Data Sheets and to contribute to efficient health management of chemical handling workers. Methods : A total of 207 workers at chemical industrials were included in the study. The questionnaire included items on recognition of material safety data sheets, and implementation of industrial health. Results : The multi-linear regression analysis conducted to identify factors that affect industrial health practices showed that the factors that affect industrial health practices were significant factors such as job status, ease of access to material safety data, experience in use, and experience in training related to chemicals. Conclusion : In order to enhance industrial health practice of chemical workers, education and countermeasures should be developed to enhance utilization of chemical safety and health data since material safety health data are provided and the experience of using it has the greatest impact. In addition, various measures should be developed to enhance industrial health practice to protect the health of workers from the harmful risks of chemicals, as the level of industrial health practice by workers can be improved to help them habituate safe work.
