The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the communication styles of dental hygienists on the satisfaction of dental patients in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of the communication of dental hygienists. It's ultimately meant to explore how to ensure efficient communication to boost the satisfaction of patients. The subjects in this study were 254 patients who visited dental institutions located in the metropolitan area. A self-administered survey was conducted from October 30 to December 30, 2012, and the statistical package SPSS WIN 12.0 was employed to analyze the collected data. 1. The largest group of the dental patients perceived that the communication style of the dental hygienists whom they met was information offering, followed by a friendly style and an authoritarian one. 2. As for the correlation between the communication styles of the dental hygienists and the satisfaction of the patients, the information- offering and friendly communication styles of the dental hygienists had a positive correlation to the satisfaction of the patients, and there was a negative correlation between the authoritarian communication style of the dental hygienists and the satisfaction of the patients. 3. The patients who gave more marks to the information-offering and friendly communication styles of the dental hygienists expressed more satisfaction, had a stronger intention of revisit and were more gratified with word of mouth. 4. The patients who were more satisfied with the dental hygienists had a stronger intention to revisit. 5. The patients who were more satisfied with the dental hygienists had a stronger word-of-mouth intention. The above-mentioned findings suggest that the communication styles of the dental hygienists affected the satisfaction of the dental patients. Therefore the importance of the communication of dental hygienists should be publicized in the field of dentistry, and it's required to provide a lot of opportunities for dental hygienists to receive education on efficient communication to raise patient satisfaction.

These are the results of the study measuring the fear of dental care and analyzing the related factors about fear of dental care. Convenient Sampling Method had used. Located in Gwangju and Jeolla province, 260 college women were surveyed. 1. The fear of dental care belongs to the demographical characteristics increase when concern about oral health is lower, the reliability of dental health care workers is lower. 2. Experience of pain and Overall fear of dental office, the reliability of dental health care workers and the whole atmosphere have negative correlation. 3. The fear of dental care increase when stimulations of dental care increase. The fear of dental care decrease when the reliability of dental health care assistants higher, and awareness of importance for regular dental care increase. The image formed when the patients visit the dental office for the first time can influence the attitude and behavior, so the dental health care workers have to do their best for decreasing the fear of dental care, and making the whole atmosphere familiar.

This study aims to figure out dental hygienists’ current social status by investigating college students’ perception on them, improve their job reputation and help them grow into excellent dental hygienists. In addition, it targets to provide basic data to set a direction for establishment of correct perception on dental hygienists’ title and their tasks set a direction and improvement of their reputation. For this, a self-assessment questionnaire was conducted against 428 university students in Busan and Changwon: 1. When asked if they know ‘dental hygienists,’ 78.5% said ‘YES.’ When asked how they got to know of them, ‘from one of my acquaintances (48.2.%)’ was the highest, followed ‘one of my family members or relatives is a dental hygienist (20.2%),’ ‘I received treatment from the dental hygienist (18.5%),’ ‘from the mass media (10.7%)’ and ‘through a book (2.4%).’ 2. When asked what is a dental hygienist's task, ‘assistant 42.5%,’ followed ‘taking an oral picture and scaling 25%,’ and ‘prevention stomatosis 16.8%.’ 3. When asked what is a dental hygienist's image, ‘neat and clean 62.1%’ was the highest, and when asked what kind of job is a dental hygienist’s, ‘specialized job 52.8%’ was the highest. 4. In terms of respondents’ perception on dental hygienists by gender, significant difference was observed (p<0.05) with 70.9% of male and 88.0% of female. When asked what a dental hygienist is called, 37.1% said ‘nurse’ while 27.4% responded ‘dental hygienist’ in men. In women, 36.6% said ‘dental hygienist,’ and 27.2% responded ‘nurse.’ In other words, significant difference was observed (p<0.05). Based on the results of the study above, it is important to provide reasonable obligations to dental hygienists and fairly treat them in order to improve their social status. To establish a correct perception on dental hygienists, in addition, it is necessary to promote multiple advertisements through mass media.

Gyeongsangbukdo A dental clinic in the town to target within the desired 20 years and over sized patients from august 1, 2013 until september 13 by the survey, 1,156 parts of the final results from the survey a total of 1,900 parts are as follows. 1. Dental health services of dental healthcare quality patients satisfaction and sincere answers correct and polite and friendly attitude of the dental staff of dentists, care equipment and instruments showed the highest satisfaction hygienic thing. This result could be confirmed that the most important requirement to look for making dental again. 2. The dentist satisfaction of quality dental care services in accordance with the general characteristics of dental healthcare patients were highly educated men over 60 are unemployed, and more monthly income higher satisfaction survey, it showed a statistically significant difference (p<.000). Dental staff satisfaction factors of quality dental care services in accordance with the general characteristics of dental clinics admitted patients were male with a low educational level is more than 60 professionals and more the monthly income was higher satisfaction survey for dental staff, it showed a statistically significant difference (p<.000). 3. The more dental institutions dental procedures satisfaction factors of quality dental care services in accordance with the general characteristics of patients admitted with a high level of education and monthly income were 50 unemployed men increased satisfaction survey for dental procedures, it showed a statistically significant difference (p<.000). Dental environmental factors satisfaction of dental service quality in accordance with the general characteristics of dental healthcare patients are highly educated men over 60 more have been investigated monthly income higher satisfaction with dental care environment, it showed a statistically significant difference (p<.000). 4. General characteristics of the study subjects and optional path dental, select reason is that the correlation between dental appeared that there is a statistically significant difference showed a positive correlation (+) in age and occupation (p<.01), the correlation between dental health and dental services to be reused doctor shows a positive correlation between all variables (+), it showed that there are statistically significant differences in all variables (p<.01). Consequently, to increase the satisfaction of dental service is within the desired patient dental clinic will improve the quality of care and quality of service, it is considered to be the most effective re-utilization of dental care services strategy to increase accordingly.

In this research, the survey was conducted by 469 patients who visited dental clinics in Daegu and Kyung-buk to investigate the relationship of between competence of dental hygienist and patients' satisfaction, revisit and recommendation intent. The results were as follow; 1. As for the competence of dental hygienists (perception, kindness, knowledge), the average was respectively perception 3.58, kindness 3.99, and knowledge 4.02. And patients' satisfaction was 4.02. Revisit and recommendation intent was 4.03 each. 2. As for the difference of general characteristics and hygienist's competence, what represented significant difference was as follows ; gender differed in kindness (p<.01), knowledge (p<.01), and age in perception (p<.05), knowledge (p<.001), kindness (p<.001), and marital status in kindness (p<.001), and job in kindness (p<.01), knowledge (p<.01), and visiting dental clinics in kindness (p<.05). 3. When it comes to the difference of general characteristics and patients' satisfaction, revisit, and recommendation intent, gender had a meaningful effect on patients' satisfaction<(p<.01), revisit and recommendation intent (p<.05); age and marital status on recommendation intent (p<.01, .05); job on revisit and recommendation intent (p<.01); the frequency of visiting dental clinics on patients‘ satisfaction and revisit intent (p<.01, p<.05); monthly income on revisit intent (p<.05). 4. Concerning patients' satisfaction, revisit and recommendation intent according to the competence of hygienists, the figure of those with above-average in perception, kindness, and knowledge reached significantly high compared to that of those with below-average (p<.001). 5. With regard to the correlation between the hygienist's competence and patients' satisfaction, revisit, recommendation intent and patients satisfaction is most related to the knowledge of the hygienist (61.2%), and revisit intent most to patients satisfaction (68.8%), and recommendation intent most to revisit intent (69.5%). 6. As a result of multiple regression analysis to investigate the factors having an effect on patients' satisfaction, revisit and recommendation intent, the factors having effects on patients' satisfaction are the knowledge, kindness, perception and the frequency of visiting dental clinics (R2=.421). What has effects on revisit and recommendation intent is the hygienist's knowledge, kindness, and perception (R2=.370, .401). With above results, in order to enhance hygienist's competence, we need to clarify job identity, build up the specialty, have the public perceive the work of hygienists exactly, provide personality education to improve medical service and change the way of thinking positively.

The purpose of this study was to grasp the awareness on dental digital system in dental hygiene students. From September 12, 2015 to November 13, a self-reported questionnaire was carried out targeting 736 juniors and seniors, who have the experience of clinical practice, among 82 universities in which the department of dental hygiene is opened. As a result of analyzing through using SPSS WIN 18.0 program, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. A case of perceiving dental digital system accounted for 52.7%. A case of having the experience of education on dental digital system amounted to 26.8%. The experience of education in class took up 16.4%. The experience of education during clinical practice or dental part-time job comprised 11.0%. The experience of education on internet or at academic society or seminar held 0.3%. The experience of education in mass media accounted for 0.1%. 2. The digital system, which is used in dental hospital and clinic, was the largest in X-ray system with 77.3%. Next, the digital camera amounted to 54.9%. The electronic chart comprised 48.4%. The intra-oral camera took up 40.1%. The software computer system for patient education held 24.3%. The CAD/CAM system occupied 17.5%. The oral scanner formed 16.4%. 3. A case of hoping for education and practice on dental digital procedure accounted for 83.3%. The desired digital education was possessed 49.2% by electronic chart, 26.8% by intra-oral camera, 19.4% by digital camera, 34.5% by CAD/CAM system, 36.3% by digital X-ray system, 34.0% by software computer system for patient education, and 22.0% by oral scanner. 4. In terms of a difference in awareness of introducing dental digital system according to whether or not perceiving dental digital system, a case of recognizing dental digital system, compared to a case of failing to perceive, was high in improvement of dental medical environment(4.15±.639, p<0.001), in a patients' satisfaction level(3.94±.612, p<0.05), and in a recognition of dental digital(3.66±.593, p<0.001), and had a statistically significant difference. 5. As for a difference in awareness of introducing dental digital system depending on educational experience, a case of having the experience of education on dental digital system, compared to a case without educational experience, had high awareness in improvement of dental medical environment(4.25±.594, p<0.001), in a patient's satisfaction level(3.99±.569, p<0.05), and in a perception of dental digital(3.69±.568, p<0.01), and had a statistically significant difference.

Studies in this research analyzes the variance of choice in profession between prospective graduating students and dental hygienists practicing in the field. The constructed survey includes questions to indicate job selection based on general responsibilities of the profession, perception of practicing as a dental hygienist, attitude towards the job in relation to individual values, and the working conditions involved. 1. This was a multi-step process that first studied the differences between the characteristics of students and professionals and what they wanted through the job. 2. The second part of the survey evaluated the level of depth in awareness of the job and its entry. 3. The third step assessed the difference in knowledge of the working conditions and the entailed responsibilities. 4. The last part of the survey investigated the distinction in personal values between students and professionals.

10, 2015 September 01, from research on infection control practices intended for dental hygienists working in dental clinics in Busan, Gyeongnam in 2015 to 10 30th is as follows. 1. Wash hands before care about the dental clinic with an average 2.71 point (t=-4.67, p<.001), surgical operations (F=8.54, p<.001), B hepatitis jeopjongsil when (t=7.14, p<0.001) showed a significant difference in infection-related educational performance (t=9.95, p<.001). 2. Wear latex gloves average dental clinic (t=-6.66, p<.001) with 2.56 points, surgical operations (F=10.46, p<.001), B hepatitis vaccination (t=8.53, p<.001 ), it showed a significant difference in infection-related education experience performed (t=8.65, p<.001). 3. Replace the degree of dental apron Hospital (t=-8.40, p<.001) with the overall average of 2.69 points out of three surgical operations (F=5.50, p<.01), B hepatitis vaccination performed (t=7.71, p<.001), showed a significant difference in infection-related education experience of (t=7.75, p<.001). 4. All instruments disinfection and sterilization of dental hygienists are using an average of 2.66 points showed that all the instruments disinfection and sterilization is always used. 30 years of age (F=4.53, p<.05), the dental clinic (t=-6.15, p<.001), surgical operations (F=10.73, p<.001), B hepatitis vaccination performed (t=8.03 , p<.001), showed a significant difference in infection-related education experience of (t=11.04, p<.001). 5. Dental Clinic dental hygienist was a high degree of infection control practice, showed significant differences depending on the employer (t=-7.75, p<.001). Surgical operations (F=15.93, p<.001), B hepatitis vaccination (t=11.05, p<.001), showed a significant difference in infection-related education experience of (t=12.86, p<.001). Infection control practice of dental hygiene as described above usually was, dental, hospital, surgical services, B hepatitis vaccination carried out, the higher the degree of infection control practice dental hygiene in infection-related education experience. Action is also required infection control practices and the importance for low-masks, protective equipment, medical gowns replaced.

The purpose of this study was to research about communication of dental medical workers. The proper mutual communication among dental medical workers can heighten satisfaction of patients. A survey was performed on 440 subjects (dentist and dental hygienist) living capital area from Jun to August in 2011. There search tool was a structured questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by frequency, descriptive, chi-square test, Independent t-test and Bivariate logistic regression by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 12.0. 1. ‘Dental health care personnel in patient satisfaction and impact of communication that there is’ 4.13 for dentists and dental hygienists were surveyed by 4.11. 2. Efforts to communicate information, ’many conversations‘ with 45.8 percent dentists, dental hygienists, 65.0% were examined at the highest level. 3. ‘Communication of dental medical workers is effect in patient satisfaction' appeared Likert's 5 scale more than 4points (p=0.005). When communication with companions were smooth, influenced on remake decrease of dental prosthesis (p=.000). A remake of dental prosthesis influenced in patient satisfaction (p=.023). When the mutual communication of dental clinic-dental laboratory was smooth, it will influence on the remake decrease of dental prosthesis (p=0.041). 4. Communication related factors that affect the dentist - gender, age, residence, career and there was a significant difference in the communication and dental hygienists - age, residence, work experience, education was a significant difference in the communication. The proper communication among dental workers heighten patient satisfaction with reducing are make of dental prosthesis. Therefore dental workers must exactly share information of patients, and try more to heighten satisfaction of patient.
