Nursing competency including problem solving, critical thinking and clinical competency is essential in the nurse. Although importance of nursing competency is more increasing, chance of direct-patient care in hospital is more decreased. This study was purposed to evaluate nursing competency and debriefing evaluation according to satisfaction in major and clinical practice. 186 nursing students had participated in this describing study. Critical thinking and clinical practice among nursing competency and debriefing evaluation are significantly differences according to satisfaction in major. According to satisfaction in clinical practice, problem solving, critical thinking and clinical competency of nursing competency and debriefing evaluation were differences. Regardless of these positive results, there were not differences in real performances evaluation from educator and students themselves. It means that satisfaction in major and clinical practice is the important elements increasing clinical competencies but it is not promoting real performances in simulation situation. In order to develop the program improving real situational performances as increasing problem solving, critical thinking, clinical competency and debriefing evaluationextended and repeated studies are needed.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among type D personality, self-resilience, and health promoting behaviors in nursing students. Participants in this cross-sectional study were 517 nursing students from three universities in South Korea who completed a structured self-report questionnaire. Data were collected from March to June 2013, and were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with SPSS ver. 18.0. The mean scores of self-resilience (t = -6.154, P < 0.001) and health promoting behaviors (t = -6.444, P < 0.001) were significantly different between the Type D and non-Type D personality groups. Grade, self-esteem, Type D personality, and self-resilience were significant predictors of health promoting behaviors, accounting for 34.8% of its variance (F = 25.714, P < 0.001). Of these four variables, self-resilience was the most significant contributor to health promoting behaviors in nursing students. Health promotion programs for nursing students should be designed and developed with consideration of interventions for psychological variables such as Type D personality and self-resilience.

This paper performed an analysis of education effect on physical rehabilitation in patients after total knee arthroplasty. The subjects of this paper were 142 patients who had visited two general hospitals located in Chungnam area. As a result of this study, for the change of arthroplasty status, the follow-up survey was estimated to be higher in the experimental group than control group, regardless of the time elapsed of 2 weeks after physical rehabilitation education. However, the physical activities were decreased by the education more rapidly with time elapsed of 8 weeks in the experimental group as compared to the control group. Therefore, the education for the improving physical rehabilitation in patients after total knee arthroplasty can be applied to any hospital.

Computational Intelligence Systems (CIS) has profound influence in the enlargement of these effective medical field applications and tools. One of the prevalent diseases that world facing is heart disease. The Computational Intelligence Systems uses input clinical data from different knowledge resources throughout the world and applies this data on different computational intelligence tools that uses sophisticated algorithms. The sophisticated algorithms plays prominent role in the construction of medical clinical analysis tools. These tools may be used as an extra aid for the clinical diagnosis of the diseases for the doctors and clinicians. In this paper a novel method for the diagnosis of heart disease has been proposed using Genetic Algorithms. In this approach an effective association rules are inferred using Genetic Algorithm approach which uses tournament selection, crossover, mutation and new proposed fitness function. The Cleaveland data set is used for the experimentation. This data set is collected from the UCI machine learning repository experimental results are prominent when compared with some of the supervised learning techniques.

In this study, type A/B personality, attitude and behavior on oral care in intensive care unit nurses are investigated in which it is a descriptive investigation research attempted to provide basic data to prepare strategies to enhance attitude and behavior on oral care. 160 nurses working in intensive care units in 4 general hospitals located in D metropolitan city were selected as the research subjects and the period of data collection was from July 1st to July 15th 2014. Regarding the research tools, FTA (Framingham Type A Behavior Pattern) that Haynes et al. (1978) developed and adapted by Son Yeo Jin et al. (2001) was used to measure type A/B personality, the oral care attitude measuring tool developed by Kim Seuk Hee (2012) based on the health improvement model by Pender (1996) was used to measure attitude on oral care, and the behavior measuring tool based on oral care guidelines developed by Ahn Jin Hee (2006) was used to measure behavior about oral care. SPSS PC⁺20.0 for Windows program was used for analysis by real number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The research results are as follow. For the personality type of the research subjects, 79 subjects were in the type A group (49.4%), 81 subjects were in the type B group (50.6%), the attitude on oral care showed score of 2.83±0.27 points from a total of 4 points, and the behavior about oral care showed score of 2.81 ±0.29 points from a total of 4 points. Attitude on oral care by general characteristics in the subjects showed statistically significant difference according to age, marital status, education level, religion, total clinical career, clinical career in intensive care units, and position, behavior about oral care by general characteristics in the subjects showed statistically significant difference according to total clinical career and clinical career in intensive care units, and correlation between attitude and behavior on oral care showed statistically significant positive correlation between attitude and behavior on oral care. From the results above, attitude on oral care must be positively acquired to enhance behavior about oral care in nurses in intensive care units and benefits on oral care should be emphasized to reduce barriers and increase self-efficacy to make this possible

We study the analysis of heat transfer on MHD peristaltic flow with porous medium through coaxial tapered asymmetric channel with radiation effect under the assumptions of long wavelength approximation with low Reynolds number. The expressions of the axial velocity, pressure gradient, volume flow rate, average volume flow rate, pressure rise, temperature and hear transfer coefficient at y = h1and y = h2 are all obtained and the temperature and hear transfer coefficient at y = h1and y = h2 are discussed through the graphs. It is noted that the temperature increases with increase in radiation parameter and Prandtl number, heat generation parameter, non-uniform parameter and phase angle φ.

This study is a non-synchronized design single group study to determine whether 15 minutes is appropriate for re-treatment of hypoglycemia after measuring the blood glucose levels at 15 min, 30 min, and 45 min, after dosing 15 g of simple carbohydrates during hypoglycemia in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus using a specified glucometer. The study was conducted in 30 adult patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus who were hospitalized as in-patients at the Internal Medicine of Endocrinology of one general hospital in Seoul to get insulin therapy (15 men, 15 women). The collected data was analyzed using PASW statistics 18 program. General characteristics of subjects were analyzed with frequency and percentage. The blood glucose level comparison each time was analyzed by using Repeated measured ANOVA. Upon any incidence of hypoglycemia, 175 cc of orange juice (equivalent to 15 g of simple carbohydrates) was given to patients whose blood glucose were ≤70 mg / dL or patients who meet the Whipple triad, and the blood glucose levels were measured using a specified glucometer respectively at 15 min, 30 min, and 45 min intervals after drinking the juice. These blood glucose levels were then compared at each time interval (Korean Diabetes Association (KDA) Treatment Guideline for Diabetes, 2011). Upon the incidence of hypoglycemia in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus who are currently under insulin therapy, each blood glucose level measured at 15 min, 30 min, and 45 min intervals after taking 15 g of simple carbohydrates using a specified glucometer was studied. The blood glucose level measured at 30 minutes after taking simple carbohydrates had shown also statistically significant increase from the blood glucose level at the time of hypoglycemia (p<.001). However, when comparing glucose levels measured at 15 min (p=.001) and at 30 min (p<.001) after taking simple carbohydrates, from the glucose level at the time of hypoglycemia, the glucose level measured at 30 min after taking after taking simple carbohydrates was significantly increased. Thereby, it is suggested to measure the glucose level at 30 min, not at 15 min after taking simple carbohydrates when considering incidences of hypoglycemia in in patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus who are currently under insulin therapy.

This study was conducted to screen and determine the antibacterial effects of soil bacterial isolates from three sampling sites of Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Test bacteria were isolated and characterized based on colonial morphology and cell characteristics. Soil bacteria isolates were screened for their antibacterial properties against S. aureus and E. coli using agar disc diffusion method. Each treatment was done in three replicates and trials. There were six bacterial isolates in each sampling site obtained and exhibited antibacterial properties on S. aureus and E. coli after 72 hours of incubation. For S. aureus, I4 (M=35.33 mm, active) from high sampling site; I2 (M=29.44 mm, partially active) from intermediate sampling site, and I1 (M = 38.00 mm, active) from low sampling site while for E. coli, I4 (M= 34.22, active) from high sampling site, I6 (32.78 mm, active) from intermediate sampling site, and I5 (M=34.78, active) from low sampling site had the highest zones of inhibition.
