In recent years, there has been a growing interest and need for mental training and self-regulation through self-compassion. In relation to this environment, the researcher thought that self-compassion including the universality of human behavior would be meaningful because it was friendly to oneself, mindful of oneself, and able to manage failures and anxieties continuously experienced in the mathematics learning process . The purpose of this study is to confirm the possibility of measuring self-compassion in mathematics by applying the measurement tool which includes these factors to adults over college students who are studying mathematics professionally, respectively. To do this, we selected the “self-compassion factors for mathematics” for problem solving and teaching of mathematics education focusing on self-kindness, mindfulness and common humanity. This study will be a basic research for a new mathematics teaching and learning which guides the students to learn positively with self-confidence by self-compassion for mathematics and to overcome the anxiety by solving anxiety.

First impressions are important in ones school life. We carried out research into first impressions using EEG. Four middle school students participated in this study. We measured EEG when the participants saw the different facial shape and face color in the prefrontal area. We calculated the ratio of θ, α, β and γ using power spectrum analysis. The results are as followed. When they saw the different facial shape, the ratio of β wave was higher in seeing the good feeling facial picture than the general facial picture in individual analysis and group analysis. When they saw the different face color, the ratio of θ wave was lower in seeing the good feeling facial picture than the general facial picture in individual analysis and group analysis. β wave is much larger portion during the complex cognitive task and θ wave is much larger portion during the calm state. Our results suggest that the brain is more complex state in good feeling first impression and that is somewhat different in calm state.

The purpose of this study was to analysis student’s monthly reading quantities , the perception of relation among reading, curricular and section and the effect of reading quantities on curricular learning in order to explain relation between reading quantities and curricular learning. This study attempt to carried out a survey targeting fifty freshmen and sixty-six sophomores of high school ( a total of 116 students) and had an interview with teachers and students to solve the study problem. The results are as follows ; First, male class show a higher quantity than female class and freshmen show a higher quantity than sophomores in reading . Second, as part of the precption that which curricula and section can be improved with the help of reading , Korean has highest percentage , followed by social studies and liberal arts in curricula and reading section has highest percentage , followed by writing and speech section. Third, more than 80% students recognize that reading have positive effect on curricular learning. This study is important that confirm to need development and application of various reading programs for a continuing reading of students.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of students’ attitude toward mathematics on difference in mathematics achievement across TIMSS 2011-2015. According to the results of TIMSS, the Korean eighth-graders have revealed the increase in mathematics achievement since TIMSS 1995. However, their mathematics achievement have decreased for the first time in TIMSS 2015. Therefore in this study, the author have attempted to analyse the results of TIMSS(in mathematics domain) 2011-2015 with correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis to reveal the attitudinal factors which influence the differences in mathematics achievement across assessment years. As a result, it appeared that mathematical interest have influenced the differences in mathematics achievement across TIMSS 2011-2015 among countries at fourth grade students in mathematics. However, it appeared that in eight grade, students’ attitudes toward mathematics did not influence their achievement across TIMSS 2011-2015 among countries. Therefore we need to explore further to identify the factors that influence the differences in mathematics achievement across assessment years.

This study is based on brain waves of brain science as a study to analyze the relationship between self-control ability and learning ability. The research method analyzed the performance of the learning task after watching the video that could affect the emotion. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the higher the self-control power, the lower the deviation of words and numbers.
