This study has attempted to investigate student's mathematical attitudes and changes in awareness in adopting new technological tools such as smartphone applications when the teachers introduced those tools in their mathematics learning. Two groups of the students were involved in the study. One group were exposed in smartphone application evvironment, and the other group of students were induced to read the books. The results of the study were the followings: Smartphone group has reveled slightly higher level in flexbility, curiosity, mathematical attidudes and interests, and changes in study habits than the reading group.

The purpose of this study investigated the middle school students' preferences on informational text. For this purpose, 141 middle school students participated in this study. Students selected ten books what they want to read in their free time and described why they select the books. This study found that informational text was 25.2% among selected books. This is the similar result with the percentage of informational text among impressive books students ever read. And positive correlation was found. Written responses selected by students contained lots of vocabulary such as 'learning', 'career', 'usual', 'society', and 'school'. These words were closely related to students' daily lives. Thus middle school students tend to prefer informational text associated with their life. Implications were suggested for further research in the relation of recent emphasis on informational text in teaching reading at school.

In this study, I will discuss how Korea mathematics textbooks is reflecting the mathematical communication that are being emphasized many national and international basis recently. In the 7th of mathematics textbooks that reflects the 2009 revised curriculum, I was selected four textbooks that had no previous chosen frequently for analysis. As the lack of communication-related researches at the present time, the purpose of this study is to analyze the actual situation of the curriculum reflect the implications for the future development of mathematics education will offer. The four elements of analysis based on mathematical communication are T (Textbook), L(Learner), t(teacher), C(Colleague) that are displayed. And I used NCTM(2000) presented a communication norms and the 2009 revised curriculum in the proposed mathematical communication abilities, in order to select the four kinds of analysis criteria (T-L①, T-L②, L-t(C), t(C)-L) based on the teaching and learning methods. There are three analysis results. The 7th grade mathematics textbooks has learned over backward to meet the 2009 revised curriculum, but the adequacy of the amount related to communication, the degree of reflecting a variety of communication skills, the various types of configuration items were somewhat lacking.

In this study , we confirm the recognition of students of R & E program through in-depth interviews and a questionnaire dealing with the role of student and teacher at the R & E program. At the same time, we present how the interaction when the execution is carried out smoothly these roles about what was done. In this study, by handling the part on the interaction in the research community within the R & E program, it is intended to provide suggestions through the understanding of the R & E program, a qualitative improvement in the future. Study of awareness of R & E program of students, was identified through the ongoing in-depth interviews and survey of four students who participated in the R & E program. We presented an analysis of the survey results of student answers to the questions in the questionnaire. The analysis of the survey results, the positive side students were recognized, it was a bit difficult to subject the study was selected, but it is supposed to experience the process of interesting research. Since revealed participate voluntarily making themselves students from participating determinations were able for participation in the R & E program, feels a positive effect on the whole.

In order to understand the meaning of understanding the concept of the function, and presents the need for discourse analysis by applying the communicational approach is an object of the present paper. According to the communicational approach, practical way to interpret the understanding of the function concept of the student, providing help for the difficulties may be possible through the discourse analysis of the class. To analyze the mathematical discourse particular, there are various methods of analysis, but the analytical framework of Sfard, and by analyzing the mathematical discourse complex and diverse, can give more help practically both theoretically because I can, presents the need to leverage such a framework, is discussed from the perspective of communication in the understanding of the function, it tries to give suggestions on aspects of investigative and teaching and learning in the future.
